Hello, Thank you for the opportunity to tell my side of the story, which goes as followsOn November 8, Pam came into our West 81st location in Merrillville, IndianaShe requested that an alignment be performed on her Nissan Murano SEWhen she asked our manager (Paul) to perform an alignment on her vehicle, he asked her why she was requesting an alignment, which is how he was instructed to do as a part of our management training processWe always ask our customers why they are requesting a service, so that we can better understand the scope of work performed on the vehicle prior to entering our facilityAnother reason we ask each customer why they are requesting an alignment, is to keep our prices down to avoid incurring any additional inspection chargesShe said that she had just had tires installed on her vehicle, so her mechanic advised her to perform an alignmentOnce we had completed the alignment that Pam had requested, we made her aware that her alignment's caster/camber would not be 100% until she replaced the eccentric bolts that allow the struts to be adjusted; however, the toe was set and within the acceptable range allowed to drive the vehicleRoughly ten days passes, and Pam calls our facility to inform us that her mechanic had inspected the vehicle and said an alignment should not have been performed because her control arm bushing is badFirst of all, an alignment's "toe" can be set even with a bad control arm bushing because a control arm is designed to move up/down independently from the tie-rodsAlso, being that her vehicle is a Nissan the control arms do not have shim adjustments (like older 80's vehicles)Despite Paul knowing that the vehicle could still have had an alignment performed without replacing the control arm (which could have gone out by hitting one pothole after leaving our facility), Paul still offered to realign the vehicle once her mechanic replaced said control arm at no chargeThat offer still stands today and we would be more than happy to perform a complimentary alignmentPam hastily declined our complimentary alignment and said "I don't want a free alignment, I want my money back." Paul then said "that is not how our alignment warranty works, but if given the opportunity we would perform the alignment at no charge." She also said the following statements: you will never earn my business, a free alignment will not make her happy, and the only thing that will make her happy is being reimbursed or she will post a bad reviewAt that point we knew her mind was set and she was not willing to work with usAs mentioned previously, the free alignment offer still stands pending Pam is willing to work with usAlthough we have not violated any other laws set forth by the "Consumer rights Act of or Supply Goods & Services Act of 1982" those acts were put in place for the Parliament of the United Kingdom not the United States of America Thanks, USA Mufflers & Brakes
Hello,
Thank you for the opportunity to tell my side of the story, which goes as follows. On November 8, 2017 Pam came into our 2300 West 81st location in Merrillville, Indiana. She requested that an alignment be performed on her 2006 Nissan Murano SE. When she asked our manager (Paul) to...
perform an alignment on her vehicle, he asked her why she was requesting an alignment, which is how he was instructed to do as a part of our management training process. We always ask our customers why they are requesting a service, so that we can better understand the scope of work performed on the vehicle prior to entering our facility. Another reason we ask each customer why they are requesting an alignment, is to keep our prices down to avoid incurring any additional inspection charges. She said that she had just had tires installed on her vehicle, so her mechanic advised her to perform an alignment. Once we had completed the alignment that Pam had requested, we made her aware that her alignment's caster/camber would not be 100% until she replaced the eccentric bolts that allow the struts to be adjusted; however, the toe was set and within the acceptable range allowed to drive the vehicle. Roughly ten days passes, and Pam calls our facility to inform us that her mechanic had inspected the vehicle and said an alignment should not have been performed because her control arm bushing is bad. First of all, an alignment's "toe" can be set even with a bad control arm bushing because a control arm is designed to move up/down independently from the tie-rods. Also, being that her vehicle is a 2006 Nissan the control arms do not have shim adjustments (like older 80's vehicles). Despite Paul knowing that the vehicle could still have had an alignment performed without replacing the control arm (which could have gone out by hitting one pothole after leaving our facility), Paul still offered to realign the vehicle once her mechanic replaced said control arm at no charge. That offer still stands today and we would be more than happy to perform a complimentary alignment. Pam hastily declined our complimentary alignment and said "I don't want a free alignment, I want my money back." Paul then said "that is not how our alignment warranty works, but if given the opportunity we would perform the alignment at no charge." She also said the following statements: you will never earn my business, a free alignment will not make her happy, and the only thing that will make her happy is being reimbursed or she will post a bad review. At that point we knew her mind was set and she was not willing to work with us. As mentioned previously, the free alignment offer still stands pending Pam is willing to work with us. Although we have not violated any other laws set forth by the "Consumer rights Act of 2015 or Supply Goods & Services Act of 1982" those acts were put in place for the Parliament of the United Kingdom not the United States of America.
Thanks,
