Review: This camping center helped in reconditioning our used trailer camper.

When we investigated the unit when returning it home, we found that without notification or permission or explanation the old cook stove in the camper had been replaced by a stove we had never seen before. This was not explained nor included on the invoice.

Upon contacting Appleton Camping Center about the situation, we were treated extremely rudely, by a technician who had worked on the trailer. He denied that this had happened, (stated it was impossible that this could have happened). We were not believed and told by both the technician and a manager that we were wrong and that this could not have happened. that the stove must have been stolen from our home, that was their only explanation. This of course disregards the fact that there was a different stove that had been placed in the camper. This rationale does not make sense and again, we were treated rudely as if we were crazy or lying.Desired Settlement: This company refused to listen to a customer complaint and became abusive and demeaning. The company has reluctantly agreed to pay the cost of replacement, but we are left with the fact they are NOT responsible and are doing this solely to provide an angry customer with an "remedy" that will make the complaint go away. I would like this company to apologize or put forward some explanation of what might have happened that concludes it was not "our fault" that this switch of equipment was made.

Independent survey companies list our current customer satisfaction level at 94.1% We dispute this claim as the customer is unable or unwilling to bring in the unit for us to inspect and validate his claim.

I have never written a complaint on any business. Bought a brand new trailer in 2014. Had 1 year warranty.. Bought extended warranty from Route 66. Door on trailer was coming out frame.Went in at end of my warranty period had brand new door installed. 2 weeks later same problem. Called Appleton Camping Center told problem. They said bring in when get home from vacation we will check it out. Did what they said took it in. Looked at it said out warranty. To bad so sad. I said you replaced it in November. To bad so sad. Called and sent pictures to Rockwood Trailers. Told them we had to slam the door very hard to close it. They said it was not set up properly. You should never have slam door that hard. Contact your dealer. All said to bad so sad. Talked to owner he said to bad so sad.

Do not expect anything but horrible customer service from this business. From the day that we started looking to purchase, we were repeatedly given misinformation on the item we were purchasing (i.e. used versus rental, material used in item). Despite the lack of professionalism and rudeness of some of the staff, we decided to go ahead with the purchase due to a lack of better options. From there it only got worse. We had to take time off of work to pick-up the item (over a week after purchase) since their hours will not accommodate a normal 8-5 work schedule. Upon arrival we found that they had not cleaned the item as promised (filthy with bugs and dog hair), and WORSE YET one of their employees had damaged the interior vinyl in that time. We had to request that they deliver it after it was cleaned, which one would expect would be offered. They have repeatedly made it very clear that they don't care if they have our business and will just take the item back, instead of offering any form of a refund (big or small) on part of the purchase price. Upon OUR request of at least including camping vouchers, they did agree; however, the one that was sent had expired. I again contacted them at which point they said they would send another non-expired voucher, and frankly I doubt that I will ever see that. In addition, the voucher itself is limited only to weekdays, which isn't feasible for us anyway. Essentially the compensation for all of this adds up to nothing, except for a tacky piece of tape over the damage that THEY did AFTER we paid. We paid quite a bit for this item, and after the additional damage and poor service, have definitely overpaid. This would all been a little easier to stomach if the price had been this great bargain, which is unfortunately not the case.

I was not necessarily looking for brand new, and the salesman, Maury, showed me what was available in the style and floor plan I liked. He then explained the advantages and value of going new, without being pushy. when I came to pick up my rv, my suv suspension was not working properly and after the service man left for the day. Maury stuck around and made adjustments until he was satisfied that I could safely drive off the lot. I had my suv repaired and returned with my rv to have my hitch adjusted and the anti-sway mechanism mounted. Everyone was very helpful, friendly, and professional and I felt like I got star treatment. No one ever talked down to me, while making sure I knew how everything operated and this is especially refreshing as a woman buying a vehicle.

We negotiated a price and when we went back to pick up they refused to sell at that price
