Review: This dealer lied to me when I purchased a vehicle.they told me their mechanics go over the vehicles from top to bottom then they drive the vehicles for two weeks. They also told me they had no idea that the check engine light was on. And when I took it to a garage near my house I found out that someone had taken out the secondary air pump. So therefore the check engine light had to have been on the entire time they had the vehicle. Only after I buy the car did I find out it would take over $1000 to get a proper emission test done. Then the owner of the dealership told me that it "wasn't his problem". And "how was he supposed to know"... This dealership is a fraud and I would not recommend buying anything from them. An while I was there they were telling me about how a car they had there that they were asking $15,000 had problems... When the car is kbb at that price. Please stay away. I called and asked them to pay for the missing parts since its under warranty and they lied to me and the sales person who I got it from said they would. Then later said they wouldn't pay for it. So they went back on their word.Desired Settlement: I want them to pay for the missing parts like I was told they would

Dear Revdex.com of Metro Washington DC and Eastern Pennsylvania:

We at Appalachian Auto, Inc. appreciate your notification of a complaint regarding our business. Details of complaint ID [redacted] are as follows:

[redacted] of [redacted], PA entered my dealership and test drove a 2000 Audi A4sedan on June 13 2013. **. [redacted] purchased the vehicle for $4,000.00 and signed a Bill of Sale. Comments notated on the Bill of Sale state that at the cost of Appalachian Auto, Inc. the vehicle was to to 1: receive a valid Pennsylvania State Inspection, 2: an engine light was illuminated in the dash, and that 3: an Extended Warranty was purchased by Appalachian Auto, Inc. for the vehicle.

1: To satisfy the Pennsylvania State Inspection three brake light bulbs replaced, new brake pads were ordered and installed, and four laser platinum spark plugs were ordered and installed. The vehicle inspection was ordered and completed on June 17,2013.

2: Upon completion of the Pennsylvania State Inspection the illuminated engine light turned off.

3:The third party company **, [redacted]’s Extended Warranty was purchased from denied the warranty due to the fact that the vehicle had too many miles. **. [redacted] was notified "I don't care since the PA State Inspection and engine light is taken care of.

**. [redacted] called into Appalachian Auto, Inc. on June 18,2013 and stated he was no longer satisfied not having a warranty. **. [redacted] was verbally offered an Appalachian Auto, Inc. In-House Warranty. This warranty is for the term of thirty days and covers the vehicle's engine and transmission internal components only. All warranty service must be completed by Appalachian Auto, Inc. and the cost is a 50/50 split between the dealership and the purchaser. No paperwork was signed completing this contract, merely a verbal agreement to be honored by Appalachian Auto, Inc.

On July 5,2013 **. [redacted] called into the dealership and slanderously screamed into the phone what a crooked dealership Appalachian Auto, Inc. is. He began threatening employees stating "I will bring so many people you will be sorry". **. [redacted] is upset that a secondary air pump is missing from the vehicle and the replacement cost he received from his local garage is approximately $1,000. A secondary air pump is not required for PA State Inspection however, is required for PA Emission Testing. The vehicle was purchased in Perry County, PA where Emissions Testing is not required - therefore not performed. Nor was Emission Testing part of the sale.

Furthermore, a secondary air pump is neither an internal component of the vehicle's engine, nor transmission, which places this repair out of the realm of being covered under warranty. **. [redacted] has called several times with no resolve to this matter.

On behalf of Appalachian Auto, Inc. I extend my condolences to **. [redacted]. I know full well that the expense on a recently purchased car is frustrating - one of the concerns of purchasing a used car. Best outcomes to him and his vehicle.

I would like to once again thank the Revdex.com for contacting me regarding this complaint and appreciate your prompt attention in an attempt to resolve this matter. I hope I was able to provide enough of a detailed explanation that the Revdex.com is able to truly understand the circumstances regarding this issue. If any other questions or concerns arise, please don't hesitate to contact me in the future.

Regards,

Appalachian Auto, Inc.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: They lied. About different things. First off the inspection of the vehicle did not take the check engine light off. In fact it was on from the time I got the car and still is. And secondly I did not threaten them that " I will bring soo many people you'll be sorry". The two people I talked to actually told me to come talk face to face and "be a big man". I asked what would happen if I went there and he said "there will be consequences" there by threatening me. A customer. And he also told me to "go [redacted] myself". When I called about the car he told me it was inspected. I drove an hour and a half and found out the car was not inspected. And once again the inspection did not take the check engine light off. The person I spoke with continued to tell me that they did not remove the missing parts but also stated that the check engine light wasn't on when he supposingly "drove the car for two weeks". They also stated that their garage goes over the car from top to bottom. He told me there was a miss fire code which is why the plugs were changed. So if the saw the codes for the misfire the secondary air code would have also been there if they did not remove it. Because as soon as you turn the car on the computer will read there is no pump. All said and done they lied to me about multiple things. An I still have not received the title. I'm just very shocked a "company" would behave in such a way to a customer. Telling me to "go [redacted] myself" is not very professional. And I'm shocke that they are even lying in the response they just gave. Once again I said no such thing about bringing people and they will be sorry. I simply said if we cannot resolve this then I will contact the Revdex.com and you'll be sorry. I don't take we'll to being lied to ad munipulatd. I've been screwed by purchasing vehicles before and that's why I went to a dealership this time. So anyway they had to know about the missing parts. If they took them out or not they knew and did not inform me. If the part would've been broken I wouldn't care. Bit it's completely gone. And now they are lying about what I said. This is comical

Dear [redacted] and the Revdex.com,

All details were given in my first correspondence. I see that this situation will not be satisfied until money is paid out, which is not happening. These are the facts, without emotion as was recommended for my correspondence from the Revdex.com.

I am rejecting this response because:

The "details" you have given them were false. Besides that I purchased a car from your dealership. I have a whitness that will testify in court that I did not threaten any person there, the check engine light did not go off after inspection, [redacted] agreed that the dealership would pay for the missing parts, and that your worker made sexual comments about my girlfriend (right in front of her). How do you know what happened when you weren't even there?? I've never met this lady before. And in the state of PA a verbal agreement ( which was given to me by [redacted] when he stated your dealership would pay for the missing parts) is a legally binding contract. So by stating the dealership would pay he agreed to that. So that's what I'm expecting. I'm still waiting to get the title also. What's going on with that?
