Paid fee for a year on 24Jan2020. Requesting refund for the remainder of the year membership due to COVID closure/quarantine and management refused.
On 24 January 2020, instead of paying monthly for the membership fee, I paid for the year. Due to COVID-19 the gyms have been closed March, April and May. My requirements for work (I'm a DoD Civilian) and the CDC guidelines do not recommend exposures such as public gyms. I have been quarantined since March and asked Anytime Fitness today, 1 July, to cancel my membership and reimburse my payment but, they refused. It is obvious that Anytime Fitness is not concerned for the health and well being of their merchants. I would like a refund for service not received.

We have attached a copy of *** contract from 1/24/2020. Our gym is open and we welcome Tania to use her membership as sign by the member.
During the time of mandatory government shutdown, we added the time of gov't shutdown to the tail end of Tanias contract to full-fill the entire length of she signed. We also gave Tania the option of re-writing the contract to someone else (example family/friend) that can use the remainder of membership if she cannot but refused the option.
The membership/service is there and open for the member to use as depicted in the contract. We DO care for the mental and physical well being of our members and working out is a great way to stay healthy.
I was recently working out at the Spring Hill, FL location on Wendy Ct. An associate named Paul approached my husband and I asking if we were on the same insurance. I told him we were not. He asked if I paid through my insurance. I told him that I pay a program associated with my insurance. I asked him what the concern was. He informed me that if I did not scan my key, then the gym was not getting paid. I said ok, He continued to berate me about how the gym was not being paid because I was not scanning my key. I again replied with ok. He gave my a nasty look, then continued to chastise me about using my key. I said that I've already said I understood the issue. I even offered to go to the car to get my key. He then demanded that I do so. I came back in to speak to my husband about the incident and how I was spoken to. Paul sat in the office and threateningly yelled out that if I didn't stop, he would tell me to leave. I explained to him that I was having a conversation with my husband, and Paul threatened to no longer allow me to use the gym. The conversation could have been as simple as, please remember to use your key when you enter. It absolutely did not need to be a man demeaning a woman over forgetting to swipe a key. I felt very intimidated by Paul's tone and stature when he was speaking to me. I am fearful of frequenting the gym in the future without a partner.

Other (requires explanation) An employee should not be aggressive towards a patron. Not only was Paul aggressive when he initially approached me, but he continued to escalate a situation to the point of me being fearful of my safety.

Hi my name is Don and I am one of the new partners that purchased Anytime fitness NCC two weeks ago. We are saddened to hear that one of our members had a bad experience and I personally reached out to this member to discuss this. We also sent an email to the address on file but did not get a response.
We value all the memberships and want a clean professional environment while they use the gym. Although I think that this incident may have started from a security fob standpoint, we do not condone any aggressive or rude dialog with any members.
The GM mentioned in this complaint has been terminated and id like to offer an extended welcome to return to the club. Please feel free to contact me direct.
