To: Revdex.com RE: ID#*** We sold a *** custom hood insert to our customer, *** for a new construction home. After the customer had the hood installed, they called to request service for the unit. We sent ***'s factory service representative to repair the
unit. He was unable to repair the unit because the customer 's builder had installed granite under the unit which left no access to service the unit. In order to service the unit, Mr*** hired Mr*** to remove the drywall in the next room and the unit had to be removed through a hole in the wall. The customer then hired Mr*** to repair the hole. Mr*** then sent the bill to us for the repair to us. We did not hire Mr***. The first we even heard of the his invoice for services was weeks later when they faxed us an invoice. We feel that when the customer decided to install granite under the unit making it next to impossible to ever repair the unit, he also accepts responsibility for issues that may come from that permanent installation. In a perfect world appliances do not require service. This hood unfortunately didThe manufacturer's warranty states that the warranty does not cover installation contrary to recommended installation instructions, i.ecovering the bottom of the unit with granite. Since factory service would not service the unit, we had our service person repair it at our expense. We do not feel that our business should pay for the repairs to the drywall. We feel that the unit should have been installed so it could be easily accessed should service become necessary. Thank you Jeffrey ** B*** Lee & Jack's TV & Appliances, LLC ###-###-####

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]If there is any truth in their response, and they removed and replaced the defective product, then if there is ever a problem again, they have replaced it the same way it was originally installed.  So, does this mean they installed it improperly theirselves so if there is ever a problem again, who will they want to blame to be able to service it?

Date: Wed, May 4, 2016 at 2:58 PMSubject: COMPLAINT ID [redacted]To: [redacted] <[redacted]>This message is in regards to complaint ID [redacted] filed against Loudoun Auto Repair on 5/2/16.Response as follows: Initial visit, vehicle was brought in for issue with rear brake. Customer...

requested "replace rear brake pads/rotors" (see attachment pre-service 20398.jpg), we inspected brakes and found the right rear brake caliper had seized causing the pad and rotor to be worn down extremely thin (see attached photos in miata photos.rtf). We contacted customer and got approval to replace both rear pads, rotors, and calipers and flush the brake fluid. Please note: brake pads installed prior to replacement were incorrect; the correct pads/rotors/calipers per VIN were installed during initial visit (see attachment Miata 20398.pdf for invoice). Customer brought vehicle back in the following week so we could adjust rear parking brake free of charge (parking brake adjustment bolt was not fully maxed out due to rust), customer tested hand brake and drove away. Customer returned following weekend (4/30) with complaint of handbrake inoperable. We waived the $49.29 brake inspection fee, raised vehicle to inspect, found right front inner brake pad nearly worn down to squealer & rear parking brake cable adjustments are seized (rust has stopped adjuster bolt from advancing to supply a tighter handbrake). We informed customer of vehicle condition and recommended to replace both rear parking brake cables and replace front pads & rotors(see attachment Miata 20524.pdf for open invoice). Customer declined repairs at this time and no further action has been taken to remedy vehicle's brake performance to the best of our knowledge.
