Beware, fish received are not what I ordered. Left two messages on the Anglemania site and no response. I am a very experienced freshwater fish keeper of over 35 years and I have never experienced such, poor quality fish. Some look like culls as they are missing their pictorial fins. Others are less than dime size. After 3 weeks of owning these fish, they have stopped eating the fish food provided and are starting to die off. I would recommend not purchasing from this site.

I have ordered from them several times and I have been very happy. No doas and fish are very healthy. They include samples of the food they’re accustomed to, and are extremely well packed. Beautiful fish! I order the assortments and I’m thrilled with the quality and variety.

I ordered three angelfish from angelmania a few weeks ago. The order contained a request for specific types of angelfish (e.g., [1] Philippine Blue Rio Negro Paraiba Angelfish, [1] Blue Pinoy Paraiba Angelfish, and [1] Philippine Electric Blue Ghost Veil F4) and sizes (all between a quarter to a half dollar in size). However, I did not receive what I ordered. Instead, I received seven very small angelfish from angelmania that were the size of a penny or smaller. Approximately half of the angelfish had pure white bodies with black tails and fins, and the other half were all black. None of the angelfish that I received from angelmania look anything like the photos of the angelfish that I thought I ordered from angelmania as shown in photos on their website.

When I received the angelfish, I carefully acclimated them first and placed them in my aquarium that consists of a community of peaceful tropical fish. Five of the angelfish died within the first few days and only two survived. I waited a few weeks to see if the angelfish that I received from angelmania would change color, but they did not.
Perhaps angelmania thought that I would be satisfied with receiving more angelfish than I ordered regardless of their color, but I am not, and instead, I feel very disappointed.

Angelmania could have informed me that the angelfish that I ordered from their store were not available prior to sending me a shipment of angelfish, but they did not. Instead, it appears that angelmania just sent me a random handful of baby angelfish that were currently available in their store.

I reached out to the owner of angelmania (Lee Gordon) to inform him of my disappointment with the angelfish that I received from his store, and I asked him to send me the angelfish that I originally ordered. Lee Gordon’s first response to my email request was as follows:
“We check all fish against our packing list. We are very confident that we ship all correct types and genetics. Of course, no two fish look the same, so there will be some variation. I'm sure you can see the clear gill plates and coloration around the gill area for both the paraiba types you ordered. If you have pictures that suggest you received the wrong fish, please let us know.”

I sent Lee Gordon a second email with photos of the angelfish that I ordered as they appear on angelmania’s website and photos of the angelfish that I received. Lee Gordon’s response to my second email was as follows:
“They look pretty close to me. If you don't want them, ship them back and I'll refund the order.”

I found Lee Gordon’s poor customer service practices, bad attitude, false advertising on his website, and unwillingness to fulfill my original order to be infuriating. Moreover, as a private citizen I am not equipped to ship live tropical fish anywhere, and I found Lee Gordon’s conditional refund offer to be unacceptable.

If you want to receive the angelfish that you have paid for, I recommend that you do not order any angelfish from angelmania. Your hard-earned money will be better spent at more reputable tropical fish stores that are committed to providing excellent customer service, honest advertising, and making sure that their customers are happy.
