Ms. [redacted]s: We have received the correspondence with Revdex.com dated May 13, 2016 in which you expressed that you were not satisfied with our response. As with all transactions, our AmeriFirst Financial employees went above and beyond to help you obtain the home you purchased, while ensuring the property met industry standards. These industry standards are designed to protect you, your family living in the property, and your investment. To meet these standards for your benefit, certain items had to be properly completed and inspected. We believe we handled your transaction professionally. Property issues previously noted contributed to the delay in your transaction being completed. In accordance with FHA guidelines, borrowers are required by the FHA loan program to contribute 3% of the sales price to the transaction. Due to these FHA borrower contribution restrictions, we are unable to grant you the amount you requested. In the interest of fostering goodwill, we will provide you with $400 if you consider this Revdex.com complaint satisfied. If you decide this satisfies your complaint, please respond as such so we can make arrangements for you to sign our complaint settlement agreement in our office or by mail. Upon signing, we will issue the check. Let me know if you have any questions. [redacted]

AmeriFirst Financial's Resolutions department has contacted Mr. Faint and satisfactorily resoved the concerns.Thank you,
I started a loan application process to refinance my mortgage with AmeriFirst Financial with their [redacted] office at the first part of May, 2016 with one loan officer whom I knew from prior experience. Within a few days, he was let go and over the next few weeks my file was transferred to 2 other people. I wound up with a loan officer who did nothing but lie to me about the entire process as to what was happening and when, did not listen to me as to what title company I wanted to use and opened title with the company I specifically told him not to use. Several mistakes were made on my initial application. I had been in the mortgage business for 18 years so I knew what the process used to be and I have a friend still in the business, so I knew what to expect and how things work. I tried to cancel my application and he talked me out of it, asking me to give them another chance. After being lied to about the title work I sent a letter cancelling my application to him on July 7th, (two months after starting the process and getting no where), and his loan processor. This was my third cancellation of my application. He sent me a text apologizing that I LOST MY patience.
I then get an email this week telling me he no longer works for the company and my file has been assigned to another loan officer. I can't get them to take NO for an answer.
AmeriFirst Financial's Resolutions department has contacted [redacted] and satisfactorily addressed her concerns.
I understand now after the fact that there were multiple issues with the property; however, I was told multiple times from the beginning of the process (by the loan officer) that "we will close early". I was told several times that we were going to close "tomorrow" or "Monday" and I would plan my move based on the information I received only to have the days pass without receiving keys. I had several costly inconveniences due to the loan officer telling me that I "will have the keys in [your] hand tomorrow". Including having movers at my home prematurely causing me to pay a trip fee (obviously I had to send them home), having to pay an extended fee for staying past my lease, etc. This caused me extra expense as I had sold my dishwasher, my refrigerator, prematurely based on the loan officer's assurances that we would "close tomorrow". He did it enough times that I asked him to only correspond in writing for this very reason. Also based on the email sent (attached) the loan officer admitted that they "dropped the ball". Finally, as these issue arose I was not kept informed of the delay or the reason for the delays. It was often blamed on the seller, which I see now is untrue. The response from the company is really not surprising considering the way they treated me throughout the process.
We just officially closed!!! Woo hoo!~ It was an amazing experience but it was also very challenging. Our original lender had to pull out at the last minute. Then I got in touch with [redacted] with AmeriFirst Financial, Inc. his team was AMAZING!! Because of his team, this became a reality for us.
I wanted to give him A BIG THANK YOU & kudos!!~ I wanted to share with social media what an awesome job they did. If you need a good lender I highly recommend AmeriFirst.
Review: My real estate broker and I recently worked closely with the [redacted] Amerifirst office to secure financing for our new home in [redacted].
Although I was eventually approved for the loan, the process was less than an enjoyable experience due to the financial hardship that my wife and I experienced when the approval process was unexpectedly delayed.
Based on the apparent lack of communication between the Amerifirst office and the lender regarding information they needed in order to qualify us for the loan, my wife, special needs daughter and myself were subject to a great deal of expense and inconvenience.
We closed on the sale of our home on Wednesday 10/15 and moved out that day. We planned to stay in a hotel 10/15, 16, 17 & 18 before moving into the home we were getting financed through Amerifirst, as we were having new carpet installed. We had planned on closing on our new home on Thursday 10/16. Our real estate broker and ourselves were notified on Friday 10/10 that there may be an issue with the timing on our loan approval which left us no time to adjust the closing and our subsequent move from the home we were selling on 10/15.
Due to the fact we were delayed in closing on the new house, planned for 10/16, we were forced to stay in a hotel for 7 extra days, 10/19 thru 10/25 costing us $741.67. It also resulted in our having to put our furniture in storage at a cost of $1,350.00 plus the cost to load and unload this furniture in and out of storage for an additional $1,350.00. These expenses totaled $3,441.67.
This was not an amount that we had budgeted for in relation to our move etc. Also, these dollars do not include the obvious aggravation, inconvenience and disruption caused by the AmeriFirst organization due to their lack of execution.
AmeriFirst feels they did nothing wrong, they feel that no one else in Arizona could have secured this loan as it is a "stated income" loan and that we should feel very lucky we chose them to secure our financing. Given their position, I suggested that their process is "flawed" when it come to "stated income" loans, they should put in writing to the borrower and the borrower's broker that they cannot guarantee success and that it would take at least 30 days to secure the financing if at all. This type of "up front" disclosure would have made us much more prudent with regards to setting the closing date of our home which would have resulted in our avoiding these additional costs.Desired Settlement: I am asking that I be reimbursed for these additional costs and a check be written for $3,441.67 by AmeriFirst Financial and payment made immediately. I have invoices to support these numbers on your request.

We were referred to Amerifirst in Perrysburg, OH by our realtor. At first it seemed they were exactly what we needed, we were in need of a mortgage quickly and on employment offers rather than having to wait until we had paystubs. We were promised by our loan originator Tracy that all of this was possible and that she would streamline the process for us. After submitting everything required of us, it wasn't good enough, they required more information from our employers, which was provided, however they said they could not write the loan because my employment start date changed. My employer stated that my start date was pending and because they did not provide the exact new start date, Amerifirst could not write our loan.
Amerifirst also wasted a couple months of our time because they could not lend on the first property we intended to buy because it was zoned commercially. We were unaware it was zoned commercially, but when we gave another lender the address in an attempt to get it financed they were able to see it was commercially zoned right away. Amerifirst did not let us know they could not write the loan until the last second.
Tracy also flat-out lied to us about pulling our credit. She told us she pulled the credit and asked us to spend time on the phone with the credit bureaus correcting information, but upon talking to the credit reporting agency, our credit had not been pulled. On top of it they pulled our credit multiple times which ended up dropping our scores considerably.
In addition, no one there educated us on the process and they never allowed us the talk, let alone ask questions. Tracy would talk incessantly during every conversation and would continue to talk over us if we tried to enter the conversation. The level of customer service was awful, nearly nonexistent. Upon speaking with the branch manager, Liz, we were treated the same. Liz talked over my husband as he was asking questions, trying to explain how we had been treated. He asked "Are we not the customer?" to which Liz replied, "Yes, but that doesn't mean you are right." After this we called the corporate number and a woman named Sandra was actually very helpful. She listened to our concerns and although I don't know if she will be able to do anything for us, she was cordial and offered the only customer service we received from Amerifirst.
This entire process has cost us 4 months of our time and we are out $850 in appraisals, not to mention we are currently still without a home. Please do not use Amerifirst, they do not treat their customers well; they over-promise and under-deliver.
Review: I wanted to put in a complaint against loan officer from the [redacted] office.
I had been working with him on a contract from a realtor.
I made an offer on a unit with a realtor and canceled due to cosmetic issues identified after the inspection and not feeling satisfied with the my realtor. After canceling I continued my home search with another realtor. I requested [redacted] to keep my privacy confidential on my home search - which he responded he would. However, when my current realtor contacted him regarding placing an offer on the home he contacted the old realtor and told her about the bid I was to make because he found it disdisrespectful.
The original realtor contacted me to confront me on using another realtor and claimed she had an agency relationship with her company I asked her if we had signed a buyer broker agreement and she told me to f off.
I called loan officer to find out why he had done this. He did not return my calls or emails.
I would like someone to call me regarding this and and confirm if this is a legal action that he did of creating a problem with my old realtor by telling her I was purchasing a home in the same complex as the old unit I had looked at when there was not letter of agency.
I think if I was doing something wrong - perhaps loan officer would advise me to double check the documentation I signed or question if there was a letter of agency. Instead I was harassed by this old realtor because she was angry I had switched to someone else.
His office has a personal working relationship with the old realtor and I found this very unprofessional. Especially after he was freely working with my new realtor.
His manager called me Saturday morning and stated neither party had done anything wrong. Again, if there was an issue or concern on loan officer 's behalf he should have informed me to look into my documentation not called the old realtor and told her I was working with someone else.
This has been handled very unprofessionally and I would like action taken on this. I do not feel comfortable working with Amerifirst because now I am afraid my confidential information is not safe. I do not want loan officer or their office telling the old realtor where or when I buy home and then have her continue harassing me.
Please call to discuss and resolve this issue.Desired Settlement: Action taken on employee who created problems.

A bunch of neophytes; it was literally as if they were learning as the went! They dropped the ball numerous times, but I continued to give them the benefit of a doubt for months when I was told it would take 21 days to close. They told me I was denied, then 3 days later said I wasn't denied. I went to another broker he took care of the deal in 21 days and said that I was FHA approved all along. [redacted] is a worthless liar, who spends more time blaming the client than actually getting anything done. He pitches a fit like a little girl, and is totally unproductive. Unless you are a gluten for punishment I would stay away from these guys!
Review: Mr. [redacted] was the mortgage loan officer for the buyer of our home. It was scheduled to close on 3/5/2015. When it did not close that day, Mr. [redacted] promised to reimburse us for the extra days on our U-Haul rental that accrued due to the delayed closing, since the delay was not our fault. It did not close until 3/11/2015, which caused 6 extra days on our truck rental. (we could not close on the home we were buying until the one we were selling had funded) We sent him copies of the receipt as he requested, then he refused to contact us to resolve the matter, even though we contacted him multiple times. We contacted his branch manager and Mr. [redacted] contacted us within an hour asking for another copy of the receipt. He has failed to pay it or return our phone calls/texts/emails. It has been 6 weeks and he has not sent us the check that he promised.Desired Settlement: If Mr. [redacted] will pay the $480 for the extra truck rental as he promised, we will withdraw this complaint.

Review: In an effort to refinance my home, I received POOR service. Communication throughout the process was non-existent, the information I did receive was deceitful and, in the end, the company failed miserably. After almost 3 months of waiting, I was informed BY EMAIL that they were not going to be able to process my refinance..
I was charged $450 for an appraisal of my house. I was ASSURED that, if my refinance did not go through, for any reason, the $450 would be refunded. My refinance failed, and the company is refusing to respond to my COUNTLESS attempts to collect the refund of my $450. In addition, I have YET to get a copy of the supposed appraisal that was done on my property. I can't even get a phone call!Desired Settlement: That those involved in this nightmare be reprimanded for their POOR service and communication, and a full $450 refund of the "appraisal fee" that I was charged.

Response:
However, in response to the complaint filed by Mr. [redacted], Complaint ID: [redacted], we are refunding the appraisal fee in the amount of $450.00 and providing a copy of the appraisal.
Please note that appraisal fees are considered advanced fees which are paid outside of closing and are non-refundable. However, I am unable to confirm that this was properly communicated to Mr. [redacted] and for that reason, we are refunding him in full.
With regards to not receiving a copy of the appraisal, I do have evidence that the appraisal was emailed to Mr. [redacted] on July 29, 2013 but will include a copy of the appraisal with the refund check which will be delivered via [redacted].
Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information such as a copy of the check or proof of delivery.
Thank you,
Compliance Officer

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. However, in reply to Ms. [redacted]'s statement ...
"With regards to not receiving a copy of the appraisal, I do have evidence that the appraisal was emailed to Mr. [redacted] on July 29, 2013."
I can provide evidence that I did NOT receive a copy of said appraisal until AFTER I filed my complaint with the Revdex.com. The AmeriFirst representative that was working with my case confessed that she
"assumed" that it had been sent, but realized that it had not. I received a copy of the appraisal, via email, in late August, only after my refinance request had been terminated due to unsatisfactory work by the appraisal company. I can provide that e-mail, with attachment, if necessary. Such errant information is the basis for my complaint!
I will await the action promised by the business and, if it follows through, I will consider this complaint resolved.
