Service of the within answer was made to Allyson K[redacted], Attorney for the [redacted]. There is evidence of at least 79 communications with either [redacted] or the lending institution that were done while the 15-month process with us that was recorded on our CRM System; therefore, [redacted] statement of "Law Firm never updated" is absolutely false and his claim is totally unmeritorious and frivolous. Our position is well-founded and we will not consider a refund as our firm spent 45 hours on [redacted] file at an average billable hour of $300.0 per hour. The Client/Complainant states the following as his reason to be unsatisfied with our response: “With respect to American Legal, it's illegal for a company to charge you until: 1.      it's given you a written offer for a loan modification or other relief from your lender; and 2.      you accept the offer. The company also must give you a document from your lender showing the changes to your loan if you decide to accept your lender's offer. And the company must clearly tell you the total fee it will charge you for its services" However, there is a difference between company and a Law Firm or attorney. We are a Law Firm and the retainer agreement contained in this file expressly details the legal services to render and the invoice details the services rendered. An attorney is not bound or restricted by the same regulations as a regular corporations or person.   We provided legal services to the client/complainant and we provided evidence and detailed information on the legal services rendered/work performed in this case.   The law cited by the client/complainant does not applies in this case. We believe that all the evidence related to this issue has been submitted to your consideration.
