Review: ALT misrepresented a product they sold me and would like me to pay to fix the situation. I purchased a used [redacted] shaking water bath from American Laboratory Trading (ALT), Inc. Through discussions over email, the specific ALT rep I talked with stated that he had a few C76 units in stock. The most important accessory to this water bath is the platform on which items attach. I specifically inquired if the water bath I was being sold had a universal platform. In an email I was told that specific unit they were selling me, indeed, came with a universal platform. Upon delivery and unpacking of the water bath it was quite clear that the water bath came with a platform that was not as advertised. The platform installed in the shaker is only for racks and is not universal as I had asked and was assured would I would receive. Upon informing the ALT rep that sold me the shaker of this I was essentially told that overworked warehouse staff made an easy to make mistake on identifying and conveying the type of platform on the shaker. I was then told that ALT did not have the universal platform in stock. In addition, I was told that a new universal platform would have to be purchased from the manufacturer and in the words of the ALT rep "I don't have room to buy a new platform." The water bath I purchased was not as advertised. ALT has offered to split the cost of a new platform with me. I find this unacceptable.Desired Settlement: I have purchased a universal platform through a manufacturer approved vendor. I would like ALT to cover the full cost of this platform ($510.70).
