American International Gemological Laboratories

In August of 2019 I attended an auction held by Auction Events here in San Diego, CA. I bid $*** on an Alexandrite and Diamond ring with a written appraisal of $*** by the American International Gemological Laboratories, Inc. Last week I traveled to the Bay Area and showed the ring to my long-time jeweler. He looked at the ring through his scope and gave me an value of less than $***. He said the value in an Alexandrite stone is the color-changing properties. My ring had none. He then demonstrated by shining a special light onto my stone. Nothing. He then shone it on one of his rings and you could see the color change from bright blue to purple to red as he changed the light.

I believe AIGL is in partnership with Auction Events to defraud the public. Including fees and taxes I paid over $*** for a ring worth maybe $***.
I will gladly surrender the ring to get my money back. If it's truly worth $19k they should have no trouble selling it to some other naive buyer.
