I called in June of 2019 to have a cracked window replaced which was covered under my warranty. At that time, the installation cost was quoted to me as being $85 for the single window. I did not hear anything more from the company until December 2019 when a person called and said he was ready to install the window. This was apparently a 3rd party who was contracted by Great Lakes Windows to do the installation. I did not want to have the installation done then, as it was winter and very cold, but the person insisted it had to be done since he had the replacement window already. When the installation was completed by the person, he insisted on a payment of $135. I told him this was not what Great Lakes Windows had told me the installation fee would be, but he said he didn't know anything about that, and he was told he would get $135. I paid the person and contacted Great Lakes Windows the next day. Valerie admitted that she had quoted me $85 as the installation cost, but said that they couldn't find anyone to do it for that amount. We had several phone conversations back and forth, and in January of 2020, she finally agreed to refund me the extra $50. However, I have never received that money.
Business will be sending a check to the consumer for $25.

Why would I accept only $25 with no explanation when I am owed $50? That does not make sense. This is another unfortunate example of the poor customer service I have received from this business.

I have sent a check to Miss Bradford for $25. We have closed our doors are out of business now.

The claim made by the business in their previous reply that they have “closed our doors are out of business now” is a shockingly false statement. From their own Facebook page (see attached screenshot), they have simply changed their business name. The address, phone number, and website remain the same. It even says in the post - “same great company, just a new name”.
This is clearly just another attempt to get out of refunding me the full $50 I am owed. If I need to file a complaint under the new business name, please let me know.

It has been over a year since we paid 5,000.00 to order windows from this company. I am 75 years old and a vet and I cannot close my doors.
First they did not meet their deadline of 6 weeks from 8/29/17. Months went by and then they said the doors are in and we want to install them. IN THE DEAD of winter when everyone knows its no good to install. I left for the winter for 3 months so it was not possible. So now they have had months and months and months to paint these doors. Right? Then they come in July and the doors have dried paint dripping from the inside and look TERRIBLE . THEY KNEW these doors should not have been installed. They didn't care. SHODDY workmanship. So they leave with the promise of returning to fix this paint job with a set of new insides ordered. PROMISES PROMISES its been 3 months nothing. NO phone call NO FOLLOW THROUGH NOTHING. We have left messages nothing back. Oh but they got their money 11,000 from a vet and NOW THE DOOR WONT EVEN CLOSE BECAUSE OF SOME OTHER ISSUE. Its unbelievable the lack of customer service. I think these people are scammers. We were told by the salesman that the FACTORY paints these doors and its baked on. What a load of baloney. They need to fulfill their promise or return my money.
We are saddened and surprised by this complaint. We entered into this contract on August 29th, 2017. The ESTIMATED installation date written on the contract was 6-7 weeks. Order times vary due to the season/demand. Because of the custom style selected, the doors were delayed a few weeks. When they arrived 13th, we called and spoke to the customer. who only then informed us that they were leaving town for the winter on that next Saturday, and could not have installation until they were back in April.
The doors therefore had to remain in our distributors warehouse all winter. In April, I was happy to learn that the family was back, and we set up the installation. At that time , Mr *** had been seeking medical care and was traveling to see doctors. Mrs *** had to reschedule the installation for several weeks later, and being a 3 day installation, these changes are difficult for us to arrange. There were 2 more instances where she again had to change the date, and then 1 time where we needed to.
The customer was informed that the exterior red color they chose would be painted by the factory because it was a standard color. There was no mention of 'baked ' paint, because these are fiberglass doors. The inside paint color was a green color that they supplied a sample for, which they knew would be painted at a professional painter/stainer in Waukesha for them to custom match.
The doors were finally installed at the end of June. At that time, Mrs *** noticed that the paint had dripped around the side of the grids, and were visible from the outside. We had never encountered this before, and had to consult with the factory on how to remedy the situation. We were instructed to order new grid inserts for the affected doors, which is not a stock item and which have just arrived,
All of the phone calls I have had with Mrs *** have been pleasant. She did call about the door not closing easily, and although it worked properly at the time of installation, our installer did go and adjust it. We were not aware of any other problems with any of the doors until reading the complaint. Neither Kevin( the Sales manager) or myself have heard from the ***s since I spoke with her about that door adjustment issue. If calls were made, we never got them. When the paint issue was discovered, Mrs *** and I (***) agreed on the amount of $780.00 being held back until the new grids were installed, which was satisfactory to both of us. I am sad that anyone would think we were an untrustworthy company, and we very much honor our vets. We will be very happy when the grids are installed ,and hope that all will be well.

We have not received a call and *** has his phone with him constantly. Also a finish carpenter just looked at the door and said they were hung improperly - that 1 side has a mortise and one does not - and that's why there is a gap causing the door not too close properly. SO there are 2 issues. STILL AWAITING a call. I cannot say its resolved until there is a call and the doors are complete.

We have spoken to Mrs *** and scheduled the installation of the new painted door parts. We offered her Thursday , Oct 25th, but she chose to have us come on Monday OCt. 29th. At that time we will also inspect the doors that they said are not closing properly. We hope to resolve all the issues then. Thank you
