Review: I took a cruise on the [redacted] to [redacted] route from February 27th to March 8th. I enjoyed it - so booked a cruise for next year with a $500 deposit. But on Wednesday, March 5th, I returned to my room after dinner and discovered that the steward had been handling the tape recorder that I had left on the desk. I take notes as I travel, and always leave it ready to record. It had been turned off - and slightly rewound. I immediately reported this to the authorities on board - but they insisted that it could not have been one of their employees. This ship had been out of service - this was their first cruise of the season - and most of their people were new. How did they KNOW that their employee had not done this. The captain checked security tapes - the only person entering my room was me and a steward. I cancelled because I do not want to go on another cruise with a company that insults their passengers - practically calling me a liar. I did not know of their cancellation policy - but I cancelled not because I had changed my mind - but because of their inaction in this matter.Desired Settlement: I would like my deposit of $500 to be refunded.

Review: Can I get a partial refund from American Cruise Lines, if toilets did not work half the time, and so many passengers were coughing at end of cruise, I caught it to, and missed work yesterday because of coughing, sore throat, fever and running nose?Then they had the nerve to add additional fees at end of a prepaid cruise.Desired Settlement: Partial refund for toilet problem, sickness, and missed work, and making me pay additional fees at end of prepaid trip.
