Travis, the owner, was paid cash up front to paint my classic truck as a birthday surprise from my wife. The work was not completed on time. The truck was returned to us unfinished. It was in pieces, needed reassembly, and some trim pieces had gone missing. This truck has a lot of sentimental value for me, and it is now being finished by a different body shop.
Refund I am requesting a refund of the money that I had to pay a different shop to have the truck finished totaling $1,700.00.
Owner of*'s wife approached ACS to take over repair project that was previously started by another shop out of state in Indiana. We agreed to do so and take vehicle in its current condition which was no drive train, some of the body panels were attached to main cab of vehicle however interior components, multiple exterior components, as well as mechanical components were already removed. Due to the project being a surprise to the husband there was a deadline set to complete the vehicle to the further extent possible so the husband would be surprised. Repairs started once vehicle was brought to us by the customer. During the project process, there were things added to the repair such as repairing components that were previously damaged, not all parts to reassemble vehicle were available due to previous shop in Indiana either misplacing these parts or customer misplacing them. Customer supplied all components possible based on timeline. Customer then wanting to pick up vehicle at its current state so that drivetrain was could be assembled in time to surprise owner. Owners wife inspected the vehicle and paid balance of the repairs that were currently done. The vehicle was to comeback for other things such as installing of components that are still currently in my facility. All funds that have been paid are for repairs that have already been performed. There will be no refund for this repair. All work performed was inspected by*** employees prior to delivery and payment.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Payment was made up front at Travis' request so that he could pay his suppliers for paint and materials. This payment was made with the understanding that the vehicle would be returned to ACS to be finished after drivetrain was installed. The workmanship was found to be sub par upon receiving the vehicle back. Afterwards we were contacted by ACS's painter Videsh who offered to fix the vehicle on his own time after hours. We did not feel that this would be the appropriate way of handling this situation and we did not trust ACS to fix it correctly after the previous work that was performed. ACS does in fact still have pieces and components of the truck and has not returned them.
