First I am sorry if Mrs*** felt we were anything but professional and straight to the pointI received an email on Monday, dated Saturday September 19, 2015, she had bees coming into her house through a bathroom heater vent, and outside her kitchen windowI had called my roofer Larry F* to
check the roof for any hives, none were found on the roof or in the vents through the roofI received an email on Tuesday September 29, at 3:p.mindicating Mrs*** had caught maybe a dozen wasps (she sent a picture) inside her house and felt they were nests in the trees alongside her house and the neighboring property treesI sent out a request for repairOn October 1, at 2:p.mIntermountain Pest Management Mike, W*** license number *** inspected the property and found an abnest located inside the sidingHe indicated the siding on the flour plex would need to be cut open and the nest removedHe recommended having a contract open the siding, due to the fact he was a pest control guy, a contractor may open the siding in a more appropriate manner that is easier repairedFreddi M*** with R & M Contractors License #*** arrived onsite at ** ** *** Meridian at roughly 5:p.m., and via contact with Mike found the location on the siding that needed opened He then cut open the siding and found a large wasp nest located in between the raftersHe removed the nest in its entiretyFreddi then cleaned out the gap in the rafters by shop vacuuming and spraying wasp spray in the voidHe then put the siding back together, sealed it with caulk to insure no future re-access by pests. This was completed by 6:p.mThursday evening October 1,
On Friday October 2, Mike with Intermountain Pest Management re-inspected the property, he said it was feasible that we may still have a few wasps the void that went the opposite direction and got trapped in the void, however it would be impossible to get every one of them out at the time, BUT by removing the nest, sealing the access point, no food and no water they only had a short life span, they would die and the issue would be cleared up within a day or twoMrs*** did have a couple of dead wasps that she showed Mike at the time, but Mike did not see any at the time of his inspection
Again received an email from Mrs*** on Saturday October 3, that she had a live wasp in her house, Mike with Intermountain Pest went over for another inspection to insure the issue was properly resolved on Saturday 12:00-1:Mike with Intermountain Pest called Jennifer(me) with AMC Property Managers and said we did everything right and there was no action needed at this time, there may be a few stragglersMike with Intermountain Pest also went through the exterior around the building and found NO nests that would need to be treated or removedMike told me (Jennifer) that he told Mrs***, that if she felt they were coming in the bathroom, to keep the bathroom door shut but at this time there was nothing else that could be done, we removed the source.
Received an email from Mrs*** on Sunday October 4, at 4:p.mindicating the problem was resolved, and that there were yellow jackets outside the kitchen window bush. I received a second email Sunday October 4, at 6:53pmStating she had more wasps. Me, (Jennifer), Freddi with R & M Contractors, Mike with Intermountain Pest Control and Mr & Mrs*** meet onsite Monday October 5, at 2:and went through the property inside and out. We went into the bathroom, removed the ceiling vent fan, found it completely sealed, found NO live or dead wasps inside her home, and no nests on the exterior of the propertyAs a group we had a discussion about how it was handled, what to expect, talked about the chemical that was used for the treatment and how it had NO residual affectMike with Intermountain Pest did indicate that pests were creatures of habit and do return to the same nesting places in the spring, BUT because the nest was removed in it’s entirety, the hole was sealed shut there was no possible way the wasps would be returning to this same nestMrs*** indicated that there were wasps flying in and out of the evergreen locate out her window, which is located on the adjoining propertyWe inspected the overgrown shrub, found no nests, but Mike indicated that they use that material for nesting and it was very possible that they were seeing them fly in and out of that shrubMrs*** asked me to have it removedI explained to Mrs*** this was not a tree/shrub that was on our property and therefore could not just remove itMrs*** asked me to contact that property owner and request that they remove it or that they allow us to remove itWhich, I did call and leave a voicemail, with no return callI have no authority to remove landscaping from other property owners property
Due to the issue we wasn’t always able to give a hour notice that we were coming to the property, but we were in constant contact with Mrs*** by either email or phone that someone was coming overAll contractors used by AMC Property Managers are licensed and insured in the State of Idaho (license numbers were provided for ease of reference) After discussion with the property Owner and contractors we felt the issue was handled within a timely manner and handled efficiently and therefor no need to stay in a hotelThe main issue was resolved Thursday October 1, 6:p.mWe will not be reimbursing her for any expensesMrs*** indicated in her emails that she stayed with friends and had no out of pocket expense until she choose to stay in a hotel Saturday October 3, 2015, but at this time the issue was resolved to the best of our ability
Thank you,
Jennifer F*
