Good morning,

Review: I got an email from this Alumni offering me a membership in my old high schools alumni association for 20.00. They said they were the [redacted] alumni site. I thought it was the REAL site for the alumni and wanted to try to contact some old friends. I am disabled and in a wheelchair and have a lot of time now. After using pay pal to join and being directed to the website I realized it was not the schools website at all. I immediately contacted Pay Pal and asked them to stop the transaction. They said I should contact the AlumniClass at customer service which I called for three days with no response. I also emailed them several times. They seem to simply want the 20.00 and since they have it are ignoring me.I think their email is deceptive. I still have it and can send it to you.HERE IT IS:::[redacted] Final Notice: This is your final notice to get your [redacted] Lifetime Alumni Membership for only $20 (normally $100). Your 80% discount expires in one day so take advantage now! Click here for 80% OFF Lifetime Membership Thanks you for supporting our [redacted] Alumni site! Sincerely, [redacted] Website Administrator I don't know how they got my email address - I am on the school website. That is why I thought the email was from the official school website.I think if they were a reputable firm they would simply give me a refund. They sent me an email saying they don't give refunds.I think they scam people. I would appreciate your help to get my 20.00 back.I tried to stop the transaction immediately but the funds had already transferred. When I went to the website I realized they were not the real Alumni website for the school and did not want the membership. They have ignored my phone calls for three days.I live in new York and I thought there was a three day cancel period for this type of transaction.20.00 may not seem like much to you - but to a disabled senior citizen it is a lot of money to loose. An honest company would issue a refund.Desired Settlement: I simply want them to issue a 20.00 refund to my pay pal account.I have not used their service.I think they misrepresented who and what they were.I will never use their website and want a refund.

Greetings,

Review: Twenty dollars ($20) was debited from my checking account today, January 7, 2016, for "membership renewal." I did NOT authorize this. AlumniClass.com has not replied to my TWO phone calls and TWO emails ([redacted]). I want this money refunded. I never use the website, it's essentially worthless.Desired Settlement: I wish to have my $20 "membership renewal" refunded right away.

Response:

Hello,Thank you for contacting us about the charge. I am showing that you purchased an annual upgraded membership on the Liberty high school alumni site on 1/7/15. The most recent charge was your annual payment renewal for the next year. This type membership with the recurring charge was agreed to at the original time of purchase. There was always the option to change it to manual renewal to stop future payments in the "my profile" area under "Membership renewal type". I have now removed your memebership, refunded the recent payment and canceled all future charges. Please let me know if you have any other questions. [redacted]Customer Service Manager[redacted]

The customer is working with our customer service department. The customer created an account on the website and paid for membership with his credit card but was having trouble logging into the site. Customer service will assist him with log in.Thanks

Excellent service. I order a T-Shirt on December 13, 013 and it arrived on December 16, 2013. From Washington State to South Carolina in 3 days from start to finish. Product was good quality. Job well done. Very satisfied with delivery time and product.

Review: I noticed a $20 deduction from a checking account that has not been used in months from alumniclass.com. I have never heard of this website at any time, and am %110 sure I never released this information to this company for any reason. If this payment had been authorized, I would assume I would received some type of confirmation like any legitimate business would do if the charge was truly authorized. I want a refund of the unauthorized charge, and a cancellation of this RECURRING account. When calling, they only leave an option to email a lady, or leave a voice mail. Once again, any legitimate business is more than willing to correct a mistake without this run around.Desired Settlement: Refund, cancellation of unauthorized recurring account, all bank and demographic permanently removed from these peoples database immediately

Review: I ordered 8 custom embroidered school clothing items on Dec 12th to arrive in time for Christmas gifts. The items were shipped by UPS on Dec 17th. I received the package on Dec 24th. Although the packing slip indicated that all items were accounted for, two of the items (Flannel Pajama Pants - Electric Blue, size Large) were missing from the order. I tried to contact the number on the invoice and left a message. Following the holiday, I tried to call that number repeatedly and got no response. I then emailed the company on 12/31 and informed them that the items missing. I heard from them on 1/4/15 that they would check up on this. I received a followup email on 1/6/15 indicating that the items were discontinued and I had a choice of either a refund or a different color. I sent back an email on 1/7/15 indicating that I wanted to change the colors. I have not heard back from them.

The cost of the items and shipping/handling were: $59.92 and $9.85, respectively.Desired Settlement: $62.38. I divided the shipping cost by 8 items and then multiplied by 2 to get a fair cost for the shipping fees for the 2 of 8 items I did not receive.

Dear Customer: The messages you sent were not received. Customer service will be contacting you today to resolve this matter. You will be offered a replacement or a refund as previously stated.

Review: This website, other than being a complete SCAM, has the worst customer service ever. I initially signed up to this website thinking that it was my highschool's alumni website...it is not. I spoke to my high school representatives and they told me that they had e-mailed a mass message to all alumni saying to beware of this website, but unfortunately I did not receive it. Anyway, as soon as I sign up, I try out all the features it advertises,,,and guess what...there is next to nothing there...no yearbook photos as advertised..maybe a handful of classmates that got duped as well...I cancelled my membership immediately and called the phone number they list multiple times only to hear a shady message machine respond...I leave about 4 voicemails..no calls back..I email them...and I get a response two days later saying this:"Hello,Thank you for the email. Since the payment for your upgraded membership is a non-refundable fee (see Terms of Use), I can only offer to downgrade your status to the annual membership and do a partial refund of $30. You will have no future charges and if you choose to continue having the full upgraded membership after the first year, you will have that option to upgrade for another year. Please let me know if you would like to proceed with the downgrade." I resonded saying that I will dispute this with my credit card (and win!!) and report this on the Revdex.com site..so far no response..and I am not surprised!Desired Settlement: 50.00

Greetings,

Review: I was attempting to join my high school alumni association, which donates part of member dues to scholarship programs. I did a web search, and came to the MECHANICSBURG AREA HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI web site., which has the "Powered by Alumniclass.com" logo at the top of the page. By all appearances, this was the official web site of my hometown alumni association - it is logical to pay a hosting site for this type of service. I signed up for the service after a cursory review of the terms of service, which does state the "no refund" policy fairly low in the wordy legalese of this document. The site also states their non-affiliation policy at the bottom of some pages. My complaint, which I lodged with the company, is that it was not clear that this was NOT my alumni association web site until I actually penetrated the paywall and found absolutely nothing and nobody familiar on their site. It then became painfully apparent that the intent of this site is to harvest funds from people who are misguided, and who would very clearly understand that this web site has no value if they had only a few minutes of free access to get into the site. I explained to the customer service person that I was deceived and that I had no intention of purchasing their product, and I requested a full refund. She agreed to "downgrade" me from lifetime membership to a 1-year membership, which was kind of her, but she referred me to the "no refund" policy in the click-through agreement and stated that $20 was not refundable.

I contend that this web site intends to deceive high-school alumni into believing that they have found their legitimate, one-and-only alumni-association web site, and that they succeed in that deception by failing to include a non-affiliation clause near the top of the web page near the name of the high school and the word "alumni." Furthermore, I contend their failure to include the word "nonrefundable" in the registration page is also deceptive, and clearly indicates that they are attempting to extricate money from people who quite clearly did not wish to purchase the product that they are selling. If this site actually had a legitimate desire to provide customer service, they would include a link to the real alumni association web site. I feel that I have been scammed.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my $20 back so I can donate it to my high school's scholarship fund, as I intended. I wish to have all of my records removed from this company's databases.

Dear Customer,

Please view responses below in BOLD

Customer’s Statement of the Problem:

I was attempting to join my high school alumni association, which

donates part of member dues to scholarship programs. I did a web

search, and came to the MECHANICSBURG AREA HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI web site.,

which has the "Powered by Alumniclass.com" logo at the top of the page.

By all appearances, this was the official web site of my hometown

alumni association On all pages of the website you will find this disclaimer in bold text "Our Websites are not affiliated with and are independent of any school,

school district, alumni association, or other similar organization." - it is logical to pay a hosting site for this type

of service. I signed up for the service after a cursory review of the

terms of service, You will find this statement in the top of the terms of service in third paragraph "Our Websites are not affiliated with and are independent of any school,

school district, alumni association, or other similar organization." It is the users responsibility to read the terms of use and agree to them before joining any site. This is an industry norm and is practiced on all competitor sites in the social networking industry. which does state the "no refund" policy fairly low in

the wordy legalese of this document. By selecting agree during the registration process the customer agreed to the refund policy and this is why no refund was issued. The time it takes to answer email, process refunds, pay credit card processing fees and respond here is costly. The site also states their

non-affiliation policy at the bottom of some pages. My complaint, which

I lodged with the company, is that it was not clear that this was NOT

my alumni association web site until I actually penetrated the paywall

and found absolutely nothing and nobody familiar on their site. It then

became painfully apparent that the intent of this site is to harvest

funds from people who are misguided, Your statement is false. The company provides reunion services and fundraising got over 1,000 schools and the vast majority of it's users are overwhelmingly satisfied. and who would very clearly

understand that this web site has no value if they had only a few

minutes of free access to get into the site. I explained to the

customer service person that I was deceived and that I had no intention

of purchasing their product, and I requested a full refund. She agreed

to "downgrade" me from lifetime membership to a 1-year membership, which

was kind of her, but she referred me to the "no refund" policy in the

click-through agreement and stated that $20 was not refundable. The customer has already mentioned they did read the policy and agreed to the policy. By clicking agree this confirms the customers decision.

I contend that this web site intends to deceive This is a false statement and harmful to a company that has a service which benefits thousands of happy users. high-school alumni into

believing that they have found their legitimate, one-and-only

alumni-association web site, The site clearly states it is not an association but rather a service similar to the several dozen other alumni companies. Unlike the competitors the site offers fundraising for schools, free reunion planning websites and many other features which users enjoy. and that they succeed in that deception by

failing to include a non-affiliation clause near the top of the web page

near the name of the high school and the word "alumni." Furthermore, i

contend their failure to include the word "nonrefundable" in the

registration page is also deceptive, and clearly indicates that they are

attempting to extricate money from people who quite clearly did not

wish to purchase the product that they are selling. With thousands of users and very few complaints this statement is clearly false. If this site

actually had a legitimate desire to provide customer service, they would

include a link to the real alumni association web site. At the request of any Alumni Association the company does provide a link to alumni associations I feel that I

have been scammed.

The customers false statements are damaging to the company and because they are false the company asks the customer refrain from using such false and damaging statements. The company stands by it's decision and no refund will be granted. The company will remove the customers membership from the site as requested.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The receipt that I got back from them says "Mechanicsburg Area High School Alumni Site." No intent to deceive??? I think not.

I am angered, saddened and disheartened by the self-righteous responses to my complaint. This company takes the moral low ground with regards to customer satisfaction, and refuses to take suggested measures to clarify their lack of affiliation with legitimate alumni associations. It is like selling life insurance with a combat exclusion on a military base. Sure, it's written at the bottom of the contract, and you are legally covered if the client does not notice it. But it is morally and ethically wrong. There is an old saying, "There's a sucker born every minute." It's a bitter pill to swallow to be that sucker.

You are welcome to close this complaint. These people covet money over service, and this company will either reform or go under. May they reap what they sow.
