water pump, a faulty thermostat, engine coolant sensors, cooling fans, ect. Mr. [redacted] claims, his radiator was overflowing. As we have tried to explain to him. The cap is actually a pressure release valve. When the fluid in the cooling system heats up. It expands causing the pressure to build up. The cap is the only place pressure can escape, like a pressure cooker once a boiling point the pressure will release causing fluid to spill out. Mr. [redacted] had a leaky water pump and a faulty thermostat which caused his car to overheat.Settlement:I have refunded Mr. [redacted] for the fluid he purchased...Sincerely, [redacted]
I got your message, the problem is not solved he gave me money back for the coolant.it cost me over 600.00 in work on my car and hotels and food for 2 days stuck in tehacaphi ca because al's shell gas station did not put my radiator cap back on properly which caused all the coolant to leak out and over heat a blew my thermastat and heat sensor so i'm filing a small claim this week for 600.00 against al shell gas station.
Review: My complaint is I stopped at the shell gas station at 501 5th st marysville ca 95901 june 23rd to have them check my coolant and oil they said my coolant was half low so they filled it up with auto zone universal coolant and a half a quart of oil. I got half way down the road toward vegas. That was were I was headed. And I stopped to gas up in buttonwillow comein out of the store I looked under my car and there's was a pool of coolant on the ground I thought it might b from runnin my ac so I continued on. Then all of a sudden my tempeture needle started movin up to the red so I pulled over and opened the hood and the radiator cap was just bouncing all over and coolant comin all out of the side so I grabed a towel out of my trunk and carefully started tighting the radiator cap down about 3 or 4 good turns to keep the cool from leaking out.it stop leakin out after that. But what cause that to happen was when tyler at the shell station put in my coolant he didn't tighten down the radiator cap. Which cause my thermastat to lock once it over heated. so I called aaa they towed me to teahachpi there shop.I was there for 2 days it cost around 600.00 includin rooms and meals for 2 days. But it cost 423.00 to fix i've never had problems with my car overheatin ever. u till tyler who work at the shell station worked on my car that day.The cause was he failed to tighten down my radiator cap like it was suppose be. My car is a 1998 321i bmw convertiable. In all my years i've never had a problem with my car overheatin. I talked to bmw about the situation and my mechanic and they both agree it all happened because the radiator cap was not tightened down properly. And I refuse to pay for somelse's mistake. All i'm askin for is that the shell station on 501 5th st marysville ca 95901 pay half the bill of 423.00. But i'm given them a break and only askin for half. When
they should pay all of it actually, being it was there fault that all this happened.
You can contact me at ###-###-#### address [redacted] look forward to hear from you and resolve this matter thk u so much.?? I fax you a copy of the bill. Tomorrow.

I can't show documents all I know is my car was runnin fine until [redacted] at al's shell station worked on my radiator puttin in coolant and oil. And when I left I got half the way were I was goin and stopped to get gas and the coolant was all over the ground under the car. And when I raised the hood my radiator cap was bouncing all over the place with coolant still leaking out because the cap wasn't properly put back on tight when [redacted] applied the coolant. I've never had a problem with my car ever over heating until that day [redacted] at al's shell station applied coolant in my radiator. I'm the only witness. Can't show proof. Just I saw my radiator cap was totally lose and coolant was spillin out everywhere. And my car over heated due to lack of coolant in the radiator. That ended up costing me 600.00 when all said and done. I feel there responsible for my car over heating due to the cap not beinging applied properly.
