I am writing to you in regards to a concern letter I received from the daughter of a client that had visited my shop recentlyThis letter is in regards to ID: ***.The daughter is the person complaining on behalf of the client, her motherThe mother came to do a pedicure at my shop with a gift
cardThe gift card had no date or signature on it and we could not recognize the writing on the card.I explained this to the client politely, A gift card without a signature or date is unacceptable because there is just about no way to verify that the gift card is legitimate (not counterfeit or stolen), I asked the mother if she could have the employee who issued her the card come speak to meThis way we could actually verify if the card really was issued legitimately by one of my employees.The mother was rather rude, trying to make a scene and shouting that she didn't care and that this was my problemShe then called her daughter who later appeared at the shopI proceeded to explain to both of them our gift card policy and they would not listenThey told me that I needed to educate my employee and that I needed to apologize to them,I asked the daughter if she would be able to show me a receipt for the gift cardThis would also have helped verify the legitimacy of the cardHowever, after getting nowhere with the mother and daughter I decided to go ahead and accept the gift card on good faith even without proof of purchase-Later, the daughter would come back and show me a statement, but ask for a refundIt is clear policy that we cannot give cash refunds on gift cards; this is also stated on the gift cardShe mentioned that she had two gift cards and I told her that I would honor both.The mother and daughter came in again on 7/8/at which time I honored their second gift card with excellent service from my employeesBoth gift cards have now been fully redeemed*
