Mr. [redacted] contacted us to let us know he had an issue with the granite counter top that we installed. He said that the piece was cracked. We went to his house to see what he was talking about. We noticed the crack that had occurred. We told him that with granite being a natural product that there...

was no way we could warrant the material against any cracks. Granite has natural fissures (small cracks) within the stone. If they don't present themselves when we are fabricating or installing the counters there is no way we can guarantee that those fissures won't present themselves at a later time. We told Mr. [redacted] that the piece or crack would not separate anymore than what it had since we put rebar (metal bars), a standard practice to us, underneath the material since the piece that the crack occurred on is where his sink is. We also told him that if the crack did open more then we would replace that piece which is something we normally wouldn't offer. He told us if we could replace the piece now and we told him that we couldn't. We can go over and smooth the crack so that it won't feel so rough when you touch it. We installed Mr. [redacted]'s counter tops in the latter part of August 2015.
