As someone who was excited about the course and wanted to receive training from AMT, I was very disappointed in not being able to resolve an issue. I signed up for their course in April, as their Summer registration dates were filling up. Since then, and now increasingly since then, I've had numerous health crises. They've involved multiple trips to the hospital and numerous doctor's appointments. I cannot function day-to-day because of the chronic pain I'm in. I cannot stay awake all day without a nap from my exhaustion and am barely eating due to my stomach pain and nausea. I am not currently able to work or pursue any other activities. These and many more are my current health concerns, which is why as a consumer, I can no longer use this service. They gave me a partial refund of my skill week back, but I have no use for their online training. I have barely used their online course as I have been preoccupied with my health concerns. Still, they are not refunding me for a product I will and can not use. Having access to the online course but not physically being able to complete a skill week does nothing for me besides put on an added financial stress of an already difficult time. Again, I get no benefit from this online course that I paid for, assuming I would have the skills to test to be a licensed EMT at the end of the course. I am not able to do that anymore and should accommodate my no longer need of the service provided.
Here's our response as to why we will not be refunding *** the remaining $595:
- She registered for the online EMT course ($595) and Skill Week ($1250) on April 4th. With this application, she agreed to our Terms & Conditions, which state the policy that we will refund course fees within the first 15 days of registration, but after that point, there are no refunds under any circumstances. Additionally, she agreed to these two specific statements in her application:
· I understand and agree that there is no refund of the Online EMT Course tuition under any circumstances after 15 days from today as documented in the TERMS AND CONDITIONS
· I understand and agree that there is no refund of Skill Week tuition under any circumstances as documented in the TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- On June 17th (over 2 months after registration), she emailed us requesting a withdrawal and full refund due to health issues, despite her agreement to the Terms & Conditions with her application. We decided, in light of her health issues, to refund her the $1250 for Skill Week since she stated she would not be able to attend (despite the fact that she did agree to no refunds under any circumstances). We did not refund her the $595 for the online course, due to both the Terms & Conditions (agreeing to no refunds at all), and since she had already accessed the online course, and continues to have access to it.
Due to the fact that we have her agreement to our policy that she would receive no refunds under any circumstances after 15 days, and we actually did refund the bulk of her tuition fees (even we didn't have to according to the Terms & Conditions she agreed to), we will not be refunding the remaining $595.
