Do not fall for this. I lost a couple of thousand dollars, and there was no refund.
They said they'd call the week before to give an exact date and time of pickup but when I heard nothing I called only to be told I won't know until the day before the potential pickup day. And even that day I heard nothing and ended up having to call AGAIN! Then my pickup got pushed out another day. The driver was terrible. He kept telling us different times and then proceeded to not arrive until 10pm. The furniture was wrapped and then they left and didn't return until the next day to pick it up. Of course it was several hours after their promised time.
I was originally told that the delivery would take about 3 days only to be told by the driver it could take up to 10 days! I had already moved and was anxiously awaiting my things. I'd luckily brought my clothes and bathroom things with me in my car but finding out I would be living 10 days in a basically empty apartment without the belongings I was expecting to get within a few days was horrible to hear.
The next week I persisted in calling for updates and was told I would get a call by that Friday and should likely get my belongings by that weekend. Frustrating but at least I had a deadline finally. Friday rolls around and what do you know, no calls. I called a couple of times until I got a hold of them and was told I probably wouldn't get my things until the NEXT weekend. Maybe. They didn't know for sure and didn't seem to care to find out for me. And that was with them supposedly putting me on the 'priority list' which sounded like a BS phrase meant to make me feel better about this mess.
As soon as you've signed the paperwork and paid the down payment they will stop caring. None of the representatives seemed to care at all about my distress over this situation. I was literally in tears speaking to one of the representatives because of the lack of care and information as they told me it could be up to TWO MONTHS to get my stuff. In the end it took nearly three weeks. And my stuff came damaged. My desk was falling apart and missing several parts but when I put in a claim they blamed me for not disassembling it beforehand despite never being told to do so.
Please heed my advice and don't use All Mighty Relocation. They add a whole layer of stress to any move they participate in.
The disaster started with All Mighty drawing up the initial contract, telling my father that to move his three-bedroom apartment would cost $5,800 for 935 cubic feet. This was after the AARP/Veteran's discount. He thought it seemed a bit pricy, but agreed to it and signed the bottom line (before engaging me). I paid the initial deposit (via credit card) and they scheduled the move for the weekend of 11/19-11/20. The mover was supposed to call on 11/18 to tell us when we'd see them on Saturday. At 4PM, we were told that the movers wouldn't be there Saturday, but that we'd get a call on Saturday telling us when we'd see them on Sunday. Saturday afternoon we get a call telling us to expect them between 7 & 10 AM on Sunday, which was pretty inconvenient for my elderly parents, but they managed. They arrived at noon.
Before the lead mover had a chance to look over everything my parents were moving, he pulls out a new contract with Allied's letterhead, telling me the job would now cost $11,000 and that we had to pay half of it up front (minus deposit), and the other half on delivery. And, the only form of payment they would accept was cash, venmo, paypal, zelle or cash app, despite the fact that their own contract stated cash, check or credit card. Typical bait/switch and we didn't have any options. Cancel and we'd lose the deposit. Plus, my folks had to vacate the apartment and we had no other last-minute options. Fortunately, I was in town to help my parents pack and assist with the move, and was able to cover the bill. Had I not been there, my parents would have been screwed. So, after about 4 hours of work, the 26' box truck is loaded and they haul it all away.
About two weeks later, Allied decides to deliver the goods (The mover's contract states that they have 30 business days to deliver it, unless you want to pay extra). But, Allied had transferred the goods from the box truck to storage, and from storage to a semi before sending it. After getting the property to WV, they decide that they can't get the semi to the house and had to transfer it back into a box truck, for another $1,800. And, what was All Mighty's response to all of this? Crickets. They set us up for failure. They couldn't tell us anything thing about the status of the move after Allied had my parent's property and deferred everything to the mover. The only time they had any info for us was when the mover wasn't able to get in touch with me, while delivering the property.
You have been warned…
They were already over charging them 5k but saw what they thought was an opportunity to get more and so they tried to pressure them into signing for even more. Luckily, I was there to advocate for my parents. Now they are trying to keep their 3k deposit citing their sub contractor's complex agreements that leave them an open opportunity to charge at the delivery end. I gave them the opportunity to do the right thing in this matter and they became even more embolden. We are going to be filing a complaint with the consumer protection agency and the state attorney's office of Florida in regards to this matter. Our attorney has also advised us to call the media and advocates for the elderly.
Despite the many fake postings on this site, you are not alone. My parents had a similar experience, and we are considering legal action against All Mighty (broker) and Allied Moving Group (mover).
