Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
The amount of time spent on the carpets was minimal, was traffic areas and stairs only and having owned a carpet cleaning business did not warrant the charge. When he presented the price before the actual work I agreed but afterward when I got thinking about it, it seemed too high. Having written the check to him personally (what he asked for) and realizing he cashed it right away, I had no recourse and he was unwilling to discuss my complaint. I did not sign any estimate, contract or agreement. I guess all I have to say is Buyer Beware

My deceased husband and I owned a carpet and upholstery cleaning businessI hired this man to clean small couch, two recliners and stairs, a landing and bedroom traffic areasI moved everything upstairs for himI mopped my wood floor after he finished the upholstery as he had gotten my wood floor soaking wet with pre-spray and waterHe did a good job and yet he overcharged me, asked me to make out the check to him, personally and cashed it RIGHT AWAYWhen I called to discuss the fee and express that I felt he overcharged me for the carpet cleaning which took him only about minutes, he was not willing to discuss it

March 4th 2016, I completed a carpet and upholstery service for the regarded customer. My policy has always been to give and present a thorough price estimate before...

beginning any service to make certain the customer is comfortable in all areas.  These prior presented prices ensure transparency between me and the customer to guarantee confidence that there will be no hidden costs or surprises.  This procedure was given to the customer prior to the service.
After presenting the price for the service, the customer agreed upon the amount with no reservation. Once the customer agreed to the pricing and authorized me to begin the service, I asked the customer if she would remove her cat litter box and miscellaneous items lying on the floor so that I could do a thorough cleaning, in which she agree to do.
After completing the service I asked the customer to please inspect the work to make sure it met her expectations.  It did, which is confirmed by the content of the claim submitted.  At no point before or after the service was there any reason to suspect that the customer did not agree to the pricing.
The following day, I received a phone call from the customer.  The customer stated that she reviewed the bill, was content with the upholstery pricing, but believed the actual carpet cleaning price was too much. I reminded the customer that I presented the amount for the service in detail without any hidden costs before the service. I also reminded the customer that she agreed to the price, that the service was completed by her rendered authorization and because it was completed by her own agreement, it was unfortunately too late to negotiate the price of a finished service. At this time, the customer interrupted the discussion, questioned the integrity of the business and chose to abruptly end the phone conversation by her own will.
I have serviced all Island and Skagit counties for 25 years as a Master Cleaner with the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification and a past member of the Revdex.com.  I have the utmost respect and appreciation for my customers and the same is to be applied to the customer of claim #[redacted].
