Response:
All American Dream Homes sold [redacted] a used Liberty 1986
singlewide. The customer only had
$20,000 to use towards the new home and the hookups of connecting to the
existing site improvements. The purchaser knew this home was a used singlewide,
and signed a contract with our facility on October 21, 2011 after her and her
family inspected the home several times. Written in our contract it states that
warranties on used homes are expired. The home is sold as is, with no warranty.
The conditions of the sale included hooking up to existing site improvements.
All hookups which included the water and septic were installed by licensed
contractors, and again were from existing improvements. On 12/11/13, [redacted]’s
nephew who is living in the residence called All American Dream Homes about the
pipe’s freezing and we gladly gave the name of the contractor who was used on
their project, at that time. All
American Dream Homes also recommended purchasing fill, or getting some hay
(cheaper alternative until summer) to place over pipes, so the pipes no longer
freeze. No mold was ever reported to All American Dream Homes since the
purchase, and was inspected heavily by the purchaser prior to moving in. All American Dream Homes also received an
Occupancy Permit from a building inspector and declared the home was
transferred to the customer in livable conditions and according to building codes.
Mold can form in a house with an excessive amount of condensation and since,
many reside in this 14 x 66 it is possible if vent fans are not being used in
bathrooms and above the stove top that mold could grow in the house. The
purchaser decided on this home, and the fact the home she finds too small is
not relevant to any complaint. The used home is from 1986 and was sold as is
and was explained in detail to the customer.
All American Dream Homes intention from the beginning was to
help this customer. The customer was originally looking at purchasing a new
model home from All American Dream Homes, but due to financial reasons was
unable to move forward with a new home purchase. All American Dream Homes
worked with New Cap to ensure that the customer would be able to leave her old
mobile home which was condemned due to mold. All American Dream Homes has spent
a countless amount of hours on this customer, and the last thing we would want
from any of our customers is a house they are not happy with.
Once All American Dream Homes received the paperwork from
the Revdex.com, we called the customer to voice our confusion regarding this
complaint. I talked with [redacted] the homeowner and she was unaware of her son
[redacted] filing this complaint. She confirmed with me per a phone call on
December 19, 2013 that she did not write the complaint and it was her son. Upon
conversation with the [redacted] family All American Dream Homes was informed that 8
people were occupying the 14x66 mobile home. The eight people occupying this
home never addressed the mold issue with All American Dream Homes, which was surprising
due to multiple phone conversations after the sale. Again, this home was passed with an occupancy
permit, the mold must have formed after this sale, and my guess would be mold
was created from not using the proper ventilation with the excessive amount of
people living in this household. All
American Dream Homes insured quality with their home purchase and at the time
of transfer, it was a quality home. All American Dream homes has invested a countless
amount of hours and over 16 in person appointments as well as over 100 phone calls
that were documented and the last thing we would want is an unhappy customer.
All American Dream Homes feels this should not be reported
due to the current homeowner not reporting this to you and she was unaware of the
complaint itself. Please feel free to
call with any additional questions or documentation needed.
