I canât recommend [redacted] & his crew at All About The House highly enough.[redacted] is a firm believer that the heart and success of a business, any business, is through a good relationship between the client and the business owner. And at the heart of the relationship is building a good rapport with clients. Key to[redacted]âs success is that he listens; he discusses and exchanges ideas & listens; he offers pros & cons & listens; he keeps the client in the loop & he listens!!
I hired[redacted] to do a complete remodel of a house I had bought. The project involved pretty much gutting everything except the exterior brick walls! I had obtained bids from several other remodeling companies, but decided on[redacted] primarily for 2 reasons. He gave me a detailed break down of what the various tasks were and what the estimated costs for each would be. And he listened to what I hoped to accomplish. We discussed my budget and trade-offs to stay within my budget.
The house was over 50 years old and had not had any serious remodeling or updates during that whole time. It really was a disaster of small rooms and an unfinished basement. The project involved restructuring the floor plan, moving walls, finishing the basement, installing new plumbing, new electrical, communications & digital wiring, new ducting & HVAC, new insulation, additional trusses in the attic ... new everything![redacted] called in an excellent architect and structural engineer to ensure the structural integrity of the house would not be compromised as we moved walls around. Both the schedule and the cost were affected by unanticipated surprises as we took down walls and dug down for the foundation for an addition. I anticipated this and fortunately could roll with the delays and the additional costs. However,[redacted], to his credit, discussed alternative approaches to downsizing the project and the costs and we did make adjustments to accommodate budget and schedule.
The end result is a house that suits my needs, is very comfortable, efficient utility-wise, and just all-in-all perfect for me. I loved working with[redacted], his crew, and the subcontractors he enlisted for the specialty work. Fortunately I did not have to live in all the mess & chaos. I had another house to live in, but I was on-site every day so I could field questions & make quick decisions as the surprises surfaced!! I became part of the team, so to speak, and came away being very pleased with my experience with[redacted] and Co.
To summarize why I am a big fan of [redacted] & All About the House:
1.[redacted] was excellent in keeping me in the loop as work progressed. As I said we didnât know what to expect as we started taking things apart.[redacted] kept me apprised of things that presented challenges &/or deviations from the architectural plans. We discussed the issues & what my budget would allow, & made adjustments to the schedule & cost accordingly. Because he consulted with me all along, I was aware of the changes and felt that we completed the project on schedule & budget, as modified by the circumstances!
2. Iâd have to say that the final cost of the basic project was reasonably close to the estimate, which is remarkable considering the enormous scope of the project. We essentially gutted the house and rebuilt the interior from scratch.
3.[redacted] & his team were courteous, easy to work with, clean, respectful, gracious .... and a lot of fun. Both his team and the subcontractors to a man/woman were highly skilled in their craft & very professional in their demeanor and workmanship. They also seemed happy to be working on the project. We had a good time! I helped by having water, Gatorade & pop available for them. And Friday was donut day!! I believe having a good working relationship with a crew is very important. It was my small thing to show my appreciation for their efforts. A win-win proposition!
4.[redacted] never tried to impose his ideas on me. We discussed every little quirk that came along. If he thought my ideas were not feasible he would say so. Weâd discuss the pros & cons & my budget and come up with a compromise. He offered suggestions from his remodeling experience & also from a code compliance perspective. He listened to what I hoped to achieve and we worked together to get as close as possible to my âvisionâ. I was & am so very pleased with the rapport I had with[redacted].
5. As for the finished project in my home - I LOVE it!! I have a brand new house. Everything fits my lifestyle. I couldnât have a better home it I had built it from scratch.
To Whom It May ConcernRe: Complaint about our company from [redacted]. Here is my response to [redacted] of the [redacted] conceirge program. Sent to her may 12. Her email is [redacted]@hrccbburnet.com. Her phone number is ###-###-#### if you wish to contact her. My office number is...
###-###-####.Thank you.To: [redacted]@kingthompson.comSent: Tuesday, May 12, 2015 9:50:31 AMCleaning for [redacted] On April 10, 2016 I received a call from [redacted]requesting cleaning service for two properties. The first was for a client moving in the future and hewas still occupying his home. I dealt directly with him and we cleaned his home on April 13 and hepaid us directly. [redacted] had two units that she owned that she wanted to have cleaned and wescheduled them for April 16. One of the units was not ready and my crew did only the bath andkitchen. We then did the other unit and she called to say the cleaning was not done. I did tell herat that point that I would refund her money as I had not spoken lo my crew - it was Friday evening - I did not see them until Tuesday. At that point the supervisor of the crew showed me before andafter pictures that he had taken on his phone, and explained that the unit was so trashed that hehad to use a putty knife on the tub - and left the drip pans out on the stove because the wereunable to be cleaned. He threw the cleaning towels he used there away. She had already sent acheck which I had deposited. After considering my options I felt that the time and cost of labor - forwork we DID do - I could not refund the money. ln speaking with [redacted] she became veryabrasive and rather than continuing conversation I hung up. I called [redacted] to report thematter. I might add that from the first job she referred to us the customer was extremely satisfiedand has referred us to a friend that we are cleaning biweekly. I feel that we have had a long andgood working relationship with [redacted] Concierge program and have had no othercomplaints that I am aware of at this lime. I will abide by me concierge's opinion as to whether arefund should be made. but I hope you will consider my position. If you would like lo contact me myphone number is ###-###-####. or [redacted][email protected]. Thank you.
