To whom it may concern,
This is Xi *** I purchased a 2015 Honda Accord from Nissan Streetsboro on September 26th, 2019. Vin number: *** Full purchasing price with tax and doc fees: $13667
The sales, Anthony and Nick from Nissan Streetsboro promised me to send the title within 1-2 weeks when I purchased the car. I paid the full amount in check without any financing plans.
Now it's November 5th and my temporary license is expiring this week, I have tried to contact Nissan Streetsboro for the title issue for the past 3 weeks, I've talked to Nick of the sales dept, Diana and Teresa from the title dept of Nissan Streetsboro. They've been telling me the bank is processing my title. Finally, Teresa from the title dept. of Nissan Streetsboro told me this morning it was already transferred under my name and the title will arrive from the bank on Wednesday.
I called Ohio title bureau after to confirm it and found out the car has an active loan on it and the title does not belong to Nissan of Streetsboro.
While, on the application for dealer assignment, which we signed back on September 26th, it stated the Current titled owner's name is "Nissan of Streetsboro" and under lien information, it shows "none" and "I warrant the title to be free of all liens."
Ohio title bureau staff recommended me to contact the investigations as Nissan Streetsboro is selling a vehicle not under their name and it's a fraudulent.
Based on the law, the dealership is responsible for sending the title within 45 days. And now my temporary license is expiring this weekend and I’m not able to drive the car I paid in full.
The title dept of Nissan Streetsboro refuses to answer my phone calls. It's been really hard to get the true story of the case. Is there any way you can help with this? I really appreciate all your effort!
My number is: ***
Best,
Xi
I am writing in response to the complaint filed by Ms. regarding the title to the Honda she purchased.
The vehicle in question was sold (traded) to us by a customer that had had a payoff. As per our agreement, we sent the payoff to PNC (lien holder). Unfortunately, when we received the title, the lien had not been released by the lender as customary. We then contacted the lender to ask them to release the lien so that we can transfer a lien free title to Ms.. The lien release was sent to us on November 7th, 2019. Subsequently, we sent the lien release document to the title bureau.
On November 12, 2019, we received confirmation that the lien was cancelled and a lien-free title was issued in Ms. name (see attached).
We should have the physical title in our office by November 13, and will immediately contact Ms. to arrange delivery.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention, if I can be of any further assistance, please feel free to call.
Sincerely,
***

Purchased and financed a used Hyundai Elantra on January 8th from Nissan of Streetsboro and have not received the title as of yet. Have made many attempts (and we mean many!!) with phone calls and visits to find out why we have not received the title and always get excuses or comments like "We are working on it", "should be shortly" "should be here tomorrow." etc...and STILL DO NOT HAVE IT. 45 day tag expired, had to get a second one. Would like a title so we can complete the deal and get some plates for the vehicle. They seem to have had no problem taking our down payment and having us sign the loan but have a major problem about producing a title to us. Please help us. Thank you
