My family and I recently posted bail at Aladdin Bail Bonds in downtown Sacramento. In the deal made with Aladdin Bail Bonds, we were treated unfairly. My family experienced some sort of discrimination from this business, starting with the fact that nobody offered a military discount, which we were completely eligible for. Not only did we not get the military discount they offer, we were also overcharged by Aladdin. The business was very dishonest and opportunistic throughout our entire interaction, we honestly as patrons feel very taken advantage of, seeing as how this business knows exactly what they offer and what type of business they do. Following these two prior incidents, we were called down to the office, for which all members of my family had to leave work and inconvenience themselves otherwise. We held the meeting, which was said by our bail agent to supposed to have been to readjust the agreement, because they knew and admitted they had been far less than honest about the whole situation, and the outcome was not what the bail bondsman had told us we were coming down to their office for. The results were not a discount of any type. We do not feel good about our business dealings with Aladdin Bail Bonds and feel something should be done about this.
Aladdin wholeheartedly rejects the allegation that this customer was treated unfairly. On November 6, 2019, the defendant's mother contacted Aladdin to arrange bail for her daughter. Aladdin has two (2) rates filed with the Department of Insurance, a 10% standard rate and an 8% discounted rate for certain qualified applicants (including military service). At no point in time during the initial transaction did any of the co-signors provide information indicating military affiliation. Two weeks following the transaction, the co-signors asked Aladdin to match a competitor's rate which fell below Aladdin's approved rates and which Aladdin was under no obligation to provide. Aladdin did, however, adjust the account to provide for the rate based upon the subsequently disclosed military affiliation, and offered a lower payment plan. The customer's complaint that they were discriminated against and/or did not receive a discount is therefore disingenuous and unjustified.
Very truly yours,
