This is in response to complaint received on 10/6/ID# [redacted] .The customer was charged $to perform a site inspection for a potential mobile home purchase to be installedThe inspection was preformed on September 28th We received the check for the site inspection in the mail on September 23rd Inspection included man hours and approximately miles of travelDuring the inspection it was determined by our foreman who has years of experience that due to the proximity of a quarry there was a strong likelihood of hitting rock while digging for footersIf rock is hit additional man hours, equipment, and removal of the rock is requiredThis would incur additional costsState and local codes require footers to be foot in diameter and inches deepWe advised the customer of the potential of unknown additional expenseThe customer felt strong that no rock would be hit, however it is company policy to inform customers of unknown potential circumstances which would increase customer costsWe offered as an option that the customer could do their own footers to save possible additional cost, which they declined.Our procedure is to have a purchase agreement with the customer before we provide a footer print and the additional documents needed to apply for a building permitFooter prints for a used home require an actual drawing with specific measurements for each home purchasedThe monies collected from the customer were for a site inspection only as noted on customers check.Attached are copies from our file: Copy of the check for site inspectionCopy of note included with customer’s checkCopy of inspection notesPlease advise us of any additional help we can provideThank you for your help in reaching a positive resolutionWe take this very seriously as we strive for excellent customer relationships.SincerelyHelen L
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: akron is claiming that they performed the inspetion on september when my complaint was filed on september That is days afer my complaint and my complaint was filed and about weeks after the home was sold to someone else I have my canceled check dated august This means I made a mistake thinking I approached them on the I actually approached them on the 16th and I am sorry I got the date wrong Akron also claims that I declined to do my own pillars False In fact we said more than once we would do it because they were wrong about the property being too rocky In my complaint I said the inspection was performed but they backed out on the sale even though we had agreed on the Friday after our last meeting to make a final decision because their sale terms kept changing Akron is continuing to be dishonest so I am refusing their "resolution" Regards, [redacted]
