I am rejecting this response because:I would like to see the agreement of sale that shows no liability for prior installations.  Please provide this documentation so I can pursue prior owners for restitution and costs.I agree at this point I am stuck with the cost of the filters, but do not agree that the price is in anyway competitive.  At the time I was provided for one total cost, of which I strenuously objected to at the time, but agreed to pay since I had small children in the house, no AC, and was not present to review the invoice.  I am working with [redacted] to recoup my costs for the additional work, including the cost of the hard start for which I was charged $256, but retails on [redacted] for $12.Regards,

On 5/27/2016 I was called out to the residence at [redacted] for no A/C. I went out and determined that the compressor would not start. The compressor was drawing locked rotor amps and then going out on overload. I installed a hard start kit and the compressor started. I flushed the...

condensate drains and checked the filters. The filters were dirty and I brought it to the attention of [redacted] (the father in Law). I asked if he wanted me to change them since they were in really bad shape he said yes. I changed the filters, checked the refrigerant charge and everything was running properly. We called the homeowner and explained what had been done and he gave me a credit card to pay the bill. The charges were for a diagnostic, 2 filters, and a hard start kit. The homeowner asked if the hard start was under warranty and it was explained to him that this part did not come in the unit from the factory, but was an accessory. The father in law called us back 5 hours later and said the unit had quit working again and the thermostat was blank. I returned the next day and found that the thermostat was blank. The system had blown a low voltage fuse and after replacing the fuse it was determined that the airflow control board had failed. We ordered the board and returned to replace it. We did this at no charge. Upon replacement of the board the air handler was running but the outdoor unit was not. The service technician determined that the compressor was grounded. We ordered a compressor which had to be shipped from the factory so there was a delay in receiving the part. In the mean time the homeowner called in to find out what the status was. It was explained that the compressor was ordered and the manufacturer would cover the part but they did not cover labor or refrigerant. The price to install the part under warranty was $1300.00 dollars for refrigerant and labor. The homeowner became upset at this and I explained that in the original contract which was written by the previous owner of the business, the system came with a 1 year labor warranty. There is nothing wrong with the way the equipment is installed, in fact the installation was inspected and approved by the city of Alexandria on 12/11/2015. The only thing mentioned about the installation was that there was a dryer duct blowing directly on the coil of the outdoor unit clogging the coil. AirPlus did not install the dryer duct, in fact if it was an issue the general contractor for this job should have acknowledged this and corrected it when the renovation was being done. We do not feel that we have done anything wrong, and I have attached a copy of the original contract which shows the system only had a 1 year labor warranty. He says he moved into the home in March 2015, The equipment was installed in October 2014. His labor warranty expired in October 2015. If we give him the benefit of doubt his labor warranty expired in March 2016. We were willing to try and work with this homeowner but he chose to go a different route. He has written several negative comments on social media trashing us and if he would take a minute to read the contract he would see that his system is not under a labor warranty. Because he chose to go this route we are not willing to work with this homeowner anymore. We will not be refunding any money.

Review: I am writing this letter in hopes of getting some assistance to resolve an issue with Air Plus Air Conditioning & Heating Service LLC.

I hired Air Plus Air conditioning & Heating Service, LLC to install a whole house humidifier for gas heat in January 2013. An Air Plus Tech had failed to glue one of the joints on the discharge side going to the drain. When the system was turned on this past Saturday October 26, 2013. It had leaked flooded my basement. My husband and I spent most of the day vacuuming the water with a wet Vac. We had to dispose of some of the children’s toys and a computer had gotten wet. Please see attached pictures.

My husband and I had called the owner ([redacted]) and notified him. He told him to turn it off and he will come Monday to fix it. We told him that we had a few inches of water on my floor and would like for him to come and see the damage that it did. **. [redacted] told me that he couldn’t come right now because it was Sunday and he is was busy. Monday came and we did not receive a call from Air Plus. My husband contacted **. [redacted] again and once again we were told that he would call my husband back that he is busy.

Finally on Tuesday October 29, 2013 he sent two of his techs to glue the ¾” PVC 90 on the drain. Not only did it take 2 full days to get a technician out, their work vehicle left an oil stain on my new drive way.

My husband called **. [redacted] once again with hope that he would come over and would contact a remediation company to remove the wet drywall and install fans to dry my basement out. **. [redacted] was very upset and started screaming and cursing. He told my husband that we were looking for a hand out. He also stated to my husband that he couldn’t call over the weekend because some one broke into his shop. My husband told **. [redacted], “Please be professional with me as I am with you. I don’t need a hand out. “

I am very upset at the fact the way he spoke and treated us as a customer. Every time we reached out to him, he would just blow us off. My husband was very nice and professional to him. I just can’t understand how an owner of a company would treat his customer the way he did.

I would like Air Plus Air condition & Heating to come out and see the mold that is growing on the dry wall. It is a health issue to my family. They need to be accountable for the faulty work of their technicians. The unprofessionalism that **. [redacted] displayed regarding the situation was unacceptable. Any assistance in resolving this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

[redacted]Desired Settlement: We would like for them to hire another company to assess the damages that occurred to the basement because of the flooding and pay for any repairs that need to be done. I would like monetary compensation for the damaged computer and for the my children's toys that had to be replaced.

Response:

December 17, 2013

Dear **. [redacted],

I am writing in reference to Complaint ID # [redacted]. We are truly sorry for any water related trouble that the [redacted] family experienced. On January 25 2013 our company installed a Humidifier in the home of [redacted] family located at [redacted] Va. [redacted].

The humidifier was installed in the mechanical room of their home. Our installers are highly trained men with years of experience in their field. When we leave a job site upon completion of a job we are very confident that the job was done with professionally manor and according to industry standards.

After we leave the job site if any person were to step on a drain line, or whatever reason exposed the drain or joint it is not our responsibility to fix it.

According to our signed contract (copy enclosed) our sole responsibility is to repair broken or failed internal parts only. We are not responsibly for water damage as stated in the contract. We do not warrant any water damage to a customer property regardless of the water source.

Had the joint on the discharge side not been installed properly as the customer stated there would have been issues immediately, not months later

The first season it worked perfectly fine over the next months who knows what happened.

Again I'm sorry for any inconvenience the family had with their water issue.
