Affordable Moving Services

On May 20, 2015, Sam Jackson, the owner of Affordable Moving, agreed to move me on June 15, 2018 to ***, Illinois. On that date, he requested and I mailed to him a $500 deposit. He cashed my check and it was posted to my account 5/24/18.
On June 4, 2018, Sam requested to come to my house on the evening of June 5th at 7pm. I asked him to wait until the daytime, June 6th. He arrived about 11:30am.
On that day, I wanted to discuss the move. He said he wanted to relax and did not want to talk about moving. We went to lunch (Sam moved me to *** 5 years ago, and I do know him). He wanted to go someplace, so we went to ***. We returned about 5:30pm. He went outside to make calls. He came back in and laid down across a chair with his legs over the arm. He was talking very loudly on the phone, laughing.
I did not wish any evening relationship with him. I said to him, you need to go now. He looked at me. I repeated you have to go. He left. The next day, he sent me a text message stating he was returning my deposit. One week before my move he did this to me because I didn't want to hang out with him all evening. I've been calling other moving companies, and they all say never trust any moving company that asks for a deposit.
