Advance America Cash Advance Reviews (11)

They were promising a loan for $sent to bank account and never received it and thought I would send them $thru money gramThat's when I realized it was a scam and the bank even knew it was a scam also sending a faulty check for $which was no good

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  I called them Monday 7/6 and was informed that if I got the order in before 12:00 that they would ship that Friday 7/10. I ordered them on line and called them every day that week. One of the reasons was that they didn't receive my artwork, which they found. I called every day that week and was informed that they would still ship Friday. When I didn't receive any shipping notification I called late Friday and was told that they would ship Monday 7/13. I called late Monday and was told that they would not ship until Tuesday. I'm aware of the ships on time or its free special that only applies to certain can coolers and can only have one side imprint. If you want two sides imprinted this will not work. It's not something that you have to purchase as they stated in their response. They have a 5-day ship time in their catalog on the can coolers I ordered. I spoke with them and they said they would credit me for 20.00 due to all the confusion. That was a month ago, I still haven't seen that 20.00.  I would also like to point out that they never called me during this time, I initiated every phone call. When I received the can coolers the imprint was terrible. I never said that it was illegible as they stated I said in their response. I said it was fuzzy and extremely hard to read. They have since contacted me and said that they would credit me another 40.00 for a total of 60.00, of which I was already supposed to get 20.00 three weeks ago and I'm still looking for that. If you would like me to send you one of these, I will. You can then look in your collection of can coolers and let me know if this is the worst imprint you've ever seen on, not just a can cooler, but anything you have imprinted. I am a distributor of promotional products and have never asked for a refund or credit on anything. The sample they sent me before I ordered from them looks nothing like the imprint they did on my order. I want nothing less than a full refund. If they think they look good, buy them back and use them for samples......You would think that customer satisfaction would mean something to them, apparently, It doesn't.... Regards,
[redacted]

The details on this order are as follows.  Mr. [redacted] order was scheduled to ship 7/13/15. We advised Mr. [redacted] on 7/10 that the order would ship 7/14 and offered to compensate him with a $20 credit for his inconvenience.  Custom Printing does offer a Quick ship...

option that expedites the order through production with a small markup.  With this option, we guarantee the order ships on time or it is free, but Mr. [redacted] did not purchase this option. Mr. [redacted] called and advised us on 7/17 that he was not satisfied with the imprint on the product. Once the samples were received, they were reviewed and deemed acceptable as the imprint looked good and was not illegible (as claimed by Mr. [redacted]).  Additionally, the item serves the functionality in which its use is intended. We offered an additional discount on the order to assist in coming to a resolution and Mr. [redacted] declined.  Custom Printing went above and beyond to assist Mr. [redacted] with his concerns.

I received an unsolicited email from a company calling themselves Advance America Cash Advance doing business from the following address: 153 N. Church St., Spartanburg,SC, 29306. They already had all of my personal information such as SS # and my bank account # when the person called. It sounded like a legitimate deal until it was time to finalize the loan
. The person told me that he would deposit $1500 into my account, and then I would need to send it back to him the same day. Reason: My credit score was less than 710 and the bank would not accept my deposit until I did this $1500 transaction 3 times. At that point I told him that I would get back to him. This has scam written all over it. Their web site has the Revdex.com Logo displayed all over their paperwork.

Review: This company does business as National Cash advance. They are using a automated system to generate new phone numbers and they called me 12 times in 4 hours from 12 different telephone numbers.

I filed a complaint with the federal trade commission and will not stop my complaint process .

I am a small business owner and this company, is harassing me about cash loans they have available. I have asked them 10 times to stop calling.Desired Settlement: do not ever contact me again.

Response:

Advance America, Cash Advance Centers of California, LLC {"Advance America") is in receipt of the complaint filed by [redacted]i and we are sympathetic regarding his experience. Upon receipt, we performed a diligent search of our records and we have determined we are not responsible for the conduct in the complaint.

[redacted] states that National Cash Advance is using "an automated system to generate new phone numbers" and have called him numerous times offering loans. Neither Advance America nor National Cash Advance have a customer with the same name and address. Advance America does not operate as National Cash Advance in California nor does an affiliated company by the name of National Cash Advance offer loans to California residents. Additionally, neither Advance America nor National Cash Advance use automated phone calls to offer products.

This communication appears to be part of an effort by criminals to defraud consumers by falsely claiming to represent National Cash Advance. Advance America has previously communicated similar efforts to state and federal regulators as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation and loca l law enforcement agencies.

We recommend that [redacted] continue to document all details of any such calls in the future, that he not disclose any personal information to the caller, and, if appropriate, report such calls to law enforcement.

Review: I currently have a loan through ADVANCE AMERICA. I was told that if I didnt want to come in to make a payment that they could ACH my account, which they did. I had a problem with my checking acct and went the AA and spoke with Alicia and she stopped the payment for one pay cycle. So for the next couple of payments after that I went inside to make a payment. The last time I went to make a payment, which was on a Saturday. I informed the lady that was there that I had moved to Maryland( I had also explained this to Alicia) and she said that she was going to ACH my acct for the payments. I have been waiting for the payment to come out of my account for almost 2 weeks only to call and was told by June( per Alicia) that they don't have to do ACH payments, in the mean time I am trying to make a payment and interest is accuring to my account. I don't believe that it is fair to me that I have to pay unnecessary interest when I am trying pay on my account they change at the last minute not to do so. It went from $259 to $329 because they will not do ACH. I no longer live in Delaware and trying to pay on this bill should not be so difficult. It would be different if I wasn't trying to pay, but I am trying to pay.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to continue to ACH my account until paid in full and I should not have to pay unnecessary interest. My account should not be charged any unnecessary fees.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The amount they are showing is incorrect, I owed $257.00, how did it jump to $330's. It was not my fault and therefore I should not be charged late or unnecessary interest fees. I have no problem with mailing a Money order in but it will be late as I get paid every other Friday and it due on Friday, that is why I ask for the ACH. ]

When [redacted] has paid as agreed, Advance America will credit her account for the interest accumulated. Review: I started with a payday loan and it was rolled over to an installment loan. After six times, it has to be rolled over to installment loan. I went in to pay on the loan not remembering this information. I had taken $200 from the bank($100 for the minimum payment and $100 to pay down the loan). I had to pay the loan off because of the rollovers at $600 and apply for the new type of loan. The new loan was for $400.00 I went to get the additional money because this month I was paid on October 8 (the date changes but it's always on the second Wednesday of the month). I am currently on disability and I get paid once a month. When I took out the new loan I explained it not a certain date but changes each month, he stated to set a date. I said, I know it wouldn't go pass the 15th of each month.I was checking my account and realized they had taken money out on October the 15th of this month although I had just taken out the new loan on October 8th.I called the office. I explained the information about the error and then he pass the phone to the lady (I can't remember her name at this moment). I explained that the money in the account was for my car payment and it's automatically debited. I don't have extra money to make an extra payment after I had already paid an additional $100 dollars to try to pay the loan down. She stated she would look at it. I asked when, she said, "as soon as she got off the phone". I asked if she would let me know and she said yes. I haven't received a return call. I waited a week and I called [redacted] It is listed as a customer comment line. The recording said, I would received a callback within 24 business hours. I haven't heard from the company.Desired Settlement: I need the $129.51 returned.

Review: I had applied for a loan through this company, they had told me to buy green money pack cards from my nearest turkey hill, to scratch them off and give them the number, this happened a couple times and added up to over 500, they told me the money would then be deposited into my bank account, it never was but I'm not getting emails from a debt collection agency or so they say.., claiming I owe over 800 because of late fees and they are filing a 4500 lawsuit against me and I'm going to get a summons for court. I am just wondering how to handle all of thisDesired Settlement: I need to get this taken care of somehow because it seems like a scam and these people have my information
