After 5+ years with ADT I was advised by a friend that I was probably paying too much on a monthly basis for monitoring After looking into the price of ADT ($59/month) I realized I can get the same service for $18/month from a local alarm company I called to cancel my account and was told it would take days...fine In the meantime they put me on "test mode" and stopped monitoring my system so I could have "access" to the main box so another company could take it over I was very specific with the rep that I wanted to ensure that the equipment that I own was able to be used by another company She said yes, and it was confirmed by a supervisor that I spoke to at the time as well weeks later when the new company came to my house they were "locked" out of the system I called ADT on the spot and demanded that I have access to my own equipmentI was told by that supervision that they could not do that All they could do was send a tech (for a ridiculous fee) to come and reprogram the system in the event a new owner wanted to use it with ADT monitoring it The GE box which is the brain behind the whole system, that I paid to own, was now just a "decorative" piece hanging in my basement as it was virtually useless to be used by any other company The joke is on ADT because the new company sent a tech with many years experience in the business and he remembered ADT's override code and we were able to break free of the awful company STAY FAR AWAY FROM ADT!
Getting called 3-times a day trying to sell their services Getting called 3-times a day trying to sell their services I've told them each and every time to take us off their calling list I then call the number back and it asks if we want to be taken off the calling list to hit the # I've done this after calling them back after they have called my house This is very annoying I'm even on the National Do Not Call list Please remedy this as it is a pain to answer the phone and explaining that we do not want the service The latest calls are even up to or p.m
We have had ADT for months now and are locked into a month contract with themIn these months we have had our alarm system go off on its own separate timesThe police department starts to charge after the third alarm call so we have had to tell them to not dispatch the police when the alarm goes off because we don't want to be charged by themSo essentially our security system is useless because we are afraid to use it for fear of being charge for system problems Last night we were away from home between 4:00pm and midnightWhen we arrived home and went to shut off our armed security system it was already unarmed! At 9:00pm the security system UNARMED ITSELF and our home was unprotected from 9;00pm until we arrived home at midnightWhen we contacted ADT, their only response was "oh yeah, that has been known to happen with that particular style of panelIf it happens again we will send out a tech." Seems a bit nonchalant for a company that is supposed to be providing home securityThey are aware of a fault in their systems that makes our homes unsecured and they have no plan to ensure we are safe and to resolve the issue? It would cost us over $1,to cancel our contract with them so we are stuck paying for a service that does not actually provide what it says it will, security in our home
ADT's contract does not disclose fees for movingWants me to renew another years after their sales rep lied Before entering a year contract agreement with ADT, I made it very clear to the sales rep that I would be moving in about a yearHe's said I could take the system with meI've since moved as planned and have taken the old system with meWhen I called ADT to schedule a reactivation, they said I must pay $in installation fees or enter a new year contract for $ I stated that I would like to continue on with my agreed upon contract but not pay $in new equipmentMy lawyer reviewed the contract and no where does it state that moving fees or new equipment fees would occur or that I will have to renew for another yearsADT claims the contract is bound to the customer and address on the contractAgain, this is NOT on their contractADT's legal team has also confirmed none of these items are in their contract, yet, they still want me to adhere to what the w
Like so many others on here I am here to tell you of the pushy sales tactics, appalling service and even worse equipment and installation practices, and overall complete lack of customer service 1) When I moved into the house I had just purchased the previous security provider no longer existed, having been an ADT customer in the previous house I opted to give them a chance 2) had to endure numerous pushy, unethical, and down right rude sales representatives just to get a system set up 3) was made to pay a ridiculous amount of money for the equipment that "had to be installed for my family's safety" 4) the installer butchered the walls in my home to install the equipment and then evaporated as quickly as he came, more infuriatingly, he did not install the battery baleading to an always beeping, forever un-reliable system 5) Contacted ADT rep to have the installation issues rectified and, you guessed it, nothing ever happened 6)Sold the home, called to cancel the service, has taken over a month to do so and have yet to receive a straight answer from ADT on what is required Was told nothing was owed and account was closed on my first call only to find they continued to debit my accountThen told I owed over $for a contract, then told $700, then told $800, then told nothing owed and on and on and on and on I have been run around so many times with this company over what should be a simple account closure that I should have worn through a Nike company portfolio of shoes and still never received two matching answers I AM BEGGING YOU ALL, NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!! PLEASE LOOK AT THESE REVIEWS AND TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS, PEOPLE YOU PASS [redacted] THE STREET SAVE YOURSELVES AND ANYONE YOU KNOW FROM THIS STRESS AND CHAOS! Billing Concerns 1/12/ Customer NoXXXXXXX To Whom It May Concern: Every so often I receive details that my bill will increaseWhen I first purchased my home in 2007, I knew that I wanted my services with ADTI did research and determined that ADT offered the best security servicesBecause I am the type of customer that takes loyalty very seriously I've never opted to search for another providerIf things are working great, why changeWith the constant increases, but no changes in the service I'm trying to determine why should I stay with a company that does not value my loyaltyI've been a loyal customer, but have not been shown any value for being a loyal customerI won't say that I'm dissatified with my service because it works, however I don't like the fact that increases are sent, but the quality of service does not improve I'm to the point that I'm researching other alternatives because the prices steadily increase but I have no more than what I had when serv

I never signed a contract ,the sales rep allowed another person at the residence to allow installation on a security system and put the bill in my nam I never signed a contract ,the sales rep allowed another person at the residence to allow installation on a security system and put the bill in my name and no one signed a contract at all as a matter of fact the sales guy expressed mailed a contract to me and no one ever signed the contract I have the unsigned contract w me and the service is being cancelled and now adt says I owe an early termination fee off 433$ and the contract was never signed and the sales guy never told the person that allowed the installation was never informed that the service had to be for yearsAgain the sales tech illegal allowed a system to be installed in my name w o my consent and the contract was never signed by anyone
ADT DOESN'T WORK , DOESN'T WORK AND DOESN'T WORK After having ADT for my home and other properties for over years combine I found out the hard way, my house was vandalize days ago the signal never went out,.came home after work finding my doors open and missing so many valuable expensive items so upset I call ADT Why Didn't I get a phone call and why didn't ADT call the police? Sold my home and ADT says I owe them for the entire contract and upon original signing dealer said if I sold it before end of contract they cancel it I purchased a security system in April of and sold my home in June of I had to relocate back to Kentucky for my jobUpon original signing I was told by dealer that If I sold my home ADT would cancel the contractUpon contacting ADT I was told that since I am moving I am still under contractI explained what I was told at the original signing and they refuse to void the contractI brought the whole wire less system with meI explained that I am staying with a friend until I find a place and they refuse to let me out of the contractI have made several attempts to resolve the issue and have gotten no where.My acct number [redacted] .Nothing is true on what I was told on the original signing date and I would like my contract voided at no cost to me.I had several issues the day of the original install and finally cntacted ADT
I have been on the phone for minutes, with clerks just to be sent to a voice mail of a managerI received different stories from each clerk Each clerk had a different answer on how to resolve my issueAt the end I asked for a manger just to be transferred to a voicemailThis is my second attempt at callingI called last week and am still waiting for a call back from a manger
We met with Mr [redacted] your Salesman on November 23, & signed up for the ADT Security ServiceWe paid a Deposit on that day as requested by your SalesmanWe then were instructed we would receive a phone call to arrange for installation of the EquipmentWe didn't receive that call right awayBut once we did arrange for the installation of the equipmentThere were Two Technicians present to install all the needed equipmentOnce the two technicians tried once, then twice for the installation of the exterior camera facing the garage detailThe camera was not working properly & the 2nd Front camera to the House wasn't installed at allThe Technician then informed us that the camera they had on site was not working properly & they would have someone to contact us to reschedule for a new camera to be installed to the Garage DetailAgain, this promise was not keptMore than a couple days went pass without any ADT Representative calling to set up the appointment We then had to call again to ADT to complain & demand serviceWe were then contacted by Mrs [redacted] a ADT Local ManagerWho instructed us that she would handle the matter and see to it that it gets corrected Mrs [redacted] scheduled for a technician to come out to correct the matterThe Technician did return to correct the matter which was to install a new camera to the garage detail as it was to be done during the 1st installation date Mrs [redacted] did report out behind the technician to make sure the installation did occur and that the system was working properlyWhich at that time it was working as promisedLater, that day we identified that one of our phone lines was not working properlyThere was no dial tone in order for us to make/ receive phone callsSo, we contacted Verizon our Telephone Service Provider in order to see what is the problem with the phone linesOnce the Verizon technician came out, we were instructed that the ADT Installed Lines were not routed properly which caused a conflict in our Telephone LinesThe Verizon Technician had to undo the incorrectly routed ADT Lines to correct our phone lines and that was done Now, we had to contact ADT Security once again in order to have someone to come out and correct again a problem that was caused by your technicians again which we are now at December 21, Which is two days shy of a month away from when we signed up & paid for a service we have not received We again, ask for help in this matterWe have paid for ADT Services and we have not yet received service in which we paid forPlease let us know of how to resolve this matterPlease let us know what will be done? ADT, being what occurred and I still don't have a working Alarm System which never brought to service has repaired what was never ever done rightI would never ever use on trust ADT for such services OUR FAMILY IS STILL UNPROTECTED! System never functioned for a month - will not credit Initial system was installed 5/10/17, not completely and started malfunctioning within daysMultiple contacts with "management" has resulted in a new install today, 8/25/Emailed text dates/documentation to Derrick [redacted] in Customer Loyalty to get credit for billing from past months and cannot get a replyCalling billing they transfer me to customer care who is saying it's a billing issueNO ONE will take care of it and continues to pass on to someone elseI have been a customer for years and have NEVER had such as mess as this, and terrible customer service, for months
Able to add any additional devices myself to expand the alarm system When I called ADT I asked if I were able to add additional devices myself in order to expand the security and alarm systemThe customer service representative stated that I will have access to the system and I can add as many devices I want as long they are ZWave or ZWave PlusHe even stated that he has done it himself and that he added a door Ring camera that he found cheaper as the one ADT hasI specifically informed him that that was my intention to add better and more modern ZWave devices that are on the marketHe stated that the service person will show me how to add devicesI told him that I called other providers and they don't allowed customers to add any device to their systemI insisted asking him if ADT will let me add devices, he repeated that he has done it himself The day of the installation the service technician showed me how to access the system in order to add other devices to the system

Closing takes days from date of call for closing, resulting is additional charges and loss of refund Even though the call was made to cancel the service and the information provided in the original call states days for cancellation, the actual process gets stretched out for days from the day of call, resulting in loss of refund or potentially even more billing
