I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]In regards to the color of the stain for the rails, we discussed a few Sikens brand stain colorsHe sent us a picture from his phone of a color he was preparing to useWe told him that the one he proposed was too redHe then applied a different color on his own without our consultationWhen we arrived it was clear that he had applied a solid stain which resembled a milk chocolate lookWe told him of our displeasure and Jim even said and I quote it was "my bad for not communicating better"Then he said he could try a corn blaster to take off the incorrect stain but that would run into additional cost for himI suggested we reduce the job price by $1,and he agreed that a $1,reduction in price was appropriateTherefor the project was paid in full.I relation to the deck, the job always called for an installation of the lumber, that he purchased, and it being stainedHe said he recommended using brown treated lumber, which he usedAfter the sap started appearing he said he would go back to the lumber yard to look for a fixWe assumed that he as a professional would know what lumber to use and when to apply a stainAs I said the staining was always a part of the job and he chose to apply it apparently too soon and not let the lumber dry out sufficientlyI am very disappointed by Jim's depiction that we "screwed him" when in reality we are the clients and his last communication with us was Sept 30th in which he stated: "I will be going and sanding spots and reseal spots"While it is true that he did come back to fix some workmanship issues earlier, he has left us with a deck and railings that we will need to due to his lack of standing behind his work

In regards to the *** project .The railing stain: there was pictures sent to the ***s with different color samples and they approved the color before I stained the railingKeep in mind that they live in Texas somewhere so they approved the color by pictures.When they showed
up to make final payment they decided the stain wasn't what they thoughtDeck issuesI matched the deck stain to the existing color of deckI told them that the treated lumber should have time to dry, they wanted it stained They screwed me out of a thousand dollars and as far as settling on the thousand , it was do that or not get paid at all There is no warranty after not being paid in fullIts ben two years they just want there deck stained againI'm a reasonable person and was back there several times its up to the home owner to do his own upkeep on his place
