I could understand not purchasing it at the lower price, as I did, and then finding out later in the day the price had increased. That would have been my issue for not buying it when it was advertised at the lower price. But to allow the price to remain on the site and then to tell a customer that was willing to and committed to purchase the item at that price that you won’t honor the sale is terrible business practice.
I purchased 3 youth baseball bats through A.D.Starr website. I was than emailed a confirmation for this purchase. Approx 3 hours later I received a phone call stating they made an error on the price and they couldn't sell me the bats at that price but could sell me each bat at an price $86 higher than what was advertised. The customer service representive (Chuck) said it was an error on there part and said he would check there policy and call me back. I never received a call only a cancelation email for my order. I feel this is a type of Fuad to offer a lower price online and then call you to get more money.
Hi ***, It was good talking to you today. I’m writing this email in response to ID# ***. We received a order from *** on 11/3/2017 for 2 Omaha baseball bats. We had a typo on the website when we placed this new 2018 model bat into the system. The bat showed that it was being sold for no cost. $0.00. We called and emailed Mr. to let him know that the cost was an error and that we had a disclaimer on the website for such events and that we would offer the bat at a discount. He called and complained that the bat should be sold at the cost $0.00 that was on the website. We told him that we would get back to him and we sent him an email that same day offering a discount off the bats. We then called the next day and offered him again a 25% discount and he decided to take the offer. I hope this is all the information that you need. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The business refused to fulfill my transaction stating it was a error (an error made by multiple people) and they have a legal discalmer on their website stating they can put any price on their website and they don't have to fulfill that price due to this disclaimer. I have no power to make them fulfill my order so I took a 25% discount. I feel helpless and cheated and I think the Revdex.com should still be aware of this type of behavior and hopefully lowers their rating.
