Hello . My name is [redacted] . I am the towing division manager at [redacted] . I am responding to a towing complaint from [redacted] , LLC has filed with your office . [redacted] is a commercial strip mall that was recently sold and has new owners...
. The management company that now is in place met with me and we set up a procedure for towing vehicles off of their property that are parking there and are not customers . The sign , as you can see , clearly states that only customers, WHILE SHOPPING, are allowed to be parked there . Our procedure is as follows . 1) Any vehicles that we get called on from tenants or the management company , including commercial trucks , get an orange sticker placed on the driver's side window . The stickers tell the customers that they can not park there . They especially do not want the commercial trucks parked there because they take up too much room . 2) Once the stores are about to close , we check to see if any cars either belong to customers or employees of the retail establishments . We do this by physically going into each tenant's establishment , including the ** restaurant , and ask the management . Once verified , we tow the vehicles . Usually several hours have gone by before we tow the vehicles , because of this procedure . 3) We only take cash for any police and involuntary tows . This is the way that the management company wants us to tow from their lot . The reason for this is that there are so many people parking there and are not customers of the tenants , the tenants are losing business . My employees did not curse at Mr. [redacted] . However , they did hang up on him because he was swearing at them . He was upset that we would not take a check . Unfortunately , historically people do cancel checks after writing them . This is why we ask for cash for all involuntary tows . Mr. [redacted] did call me directly on the phone and I tried to help him but he was so aggressive that I told him that I will call the rental company directly because I was not sure that I wanted him on my property due to the way that he was acting .
