ACS Education Services Reviews (111)

Complaint: [redacted] Hello,I have already provided the account information shown on my credit reportThe account ends in ***.As far as type of loan, since I no longer have an account with ACS, there's no way for me to login and pull this information upI also have no way to locate my entire account number, as this entry on the [redacted] credit report crosses out everything but the last four digitsThe loan was received through the University of [redacted] at Ann ArborHaving my name, the last four digits of my account, and the University should allow you to find my recordsAgain, since you've already had the item removed from my [redacted] report, I hope you'll promptly remove it from [redacted] I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter Sincerely, [redacted]

After years of making every single monthly payment towards my student loan, I missed one month Once I noticed my error I made a double payment to bring my account current Upon reviewing my credit score I noticed that a "late payment" had be noted on my account As stated above since I have consistently made my payments I contacted the company to see if they reverse the reporting and I was told they would not It's unfortunate that once my payment was missed I received no calls, e-mails,or anything in writing from the company giving me a reminder or informing me that my account was delinquentIn an era where students are constantly deferring or not making payments at all, I'm in awe that this company would not reverse a reporting to my credit score after years of making consistent payments I would never recommend this company for any type of student loan financing When you have customers who are doing right by you, then a company should have some mercy and work with those who are trying

Dear *** ***
This is in response to complaint number *** for *** ***
Xerox Education Services, LLC, doing business as ACS Education Services (“ACS”) currently services two Federal Family Education Loan Program (“FFELP”) consolidation loan accounts on behalf of Ms***’s lender Nelnet. Nelnet has contracted with ACS to maintain servicing, repayment and collection activities on their student loans. While ACS is the primary contact point for servicing activities, the loans are owned by Nelnet and are serviced per their terms and federal regulations
ACS reviewed Ms***’s accounts and determined that adjustments were required resulting from her Income Based Repayment (IBR) plan in December 2010, which caused a change to her principal balance as detailed below:
Account *** required a decrease to the principal balance of $2,Therefore, we have decreased her principal balance by $2,
Account *** required an increase to the principal balance of $As this adjustment was not due to anything she did or could have done, ACS has credited her account for the amount of the increase and there is no impact to her principal balance
These adjustments were required to be completed prior to the release of account information to her consolidating lender. The Loan Verification Certificate (LVC) was completed and returned to the consolidating lender on August 15, 2016.
We apologize for any inconvenience that Ms*** may have been caused while we ensured the accuracy of her accounts
Should Ms*** have any further questions or concerns, please contact our offices Monday through Friday from 8:AM to 11:PM EST by calling ###-###-####

While incarcerated, I made several attempts to contact ACS by mail to request a paper IBR application I received two separate computer-generated responses from themThe first was that I would need to access their website in order to apply for Income Based Repayment (even though I explained to them that I was incarcerated and did not have internet-access)Later, I wrote to them again requesting a paper application to apply for an Income Based Repayment plan - at that time I received a very confusing computer-generated letter, stating that my IBR application had been "received", but that they were unable to process it because, "they had not yet received the IBR application"It is feasible that one of my letters may not have made it to their mail processing center, which is why after not receiving a response from them - I chose to write to them againHad a human being at ACS actually responded to my requests through the mail, and not been forced to check a box on a computer, thereby creating a computer-generated letter, not correctly relating to my requests - this whole situation would have been easily remediedIn the past, the human beings I spoke to at ACS were very courteous and helpful to meHowever- when I was incarcerated and not able to contact them by phone or Internet, these problems aroseI tried to be as proactive as possible to keep ACS informed of my legal situation, and in requesting, completing and sending in the Income Based Repayment plan applicationsACS wants to automate all of their processes, in an effort to eliminate human jobs and increase their profit margin - however when an issue does not fit neatly into one of their customer management software programs, problems like mine are bound to continually occurI once again am requesting that ACS report to the three credit bureaus that my student loan payments have never been lateThank You,
