Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Once again, ATP (Achieve Test Prep) continues to deflect fault back to me, the consumer! It’s perfectly clear, that ATP admission Rep/Catherine W[redacted] made the error with signing me up for the wrong classes, which hindered my progress and wasted my time. I don’t understand why ATP made the statement “we are truly sorry that we could not make this student happy despite our reported efforts to resolve her concerns.” What “EFFORTS” are they/ATP talking about? I never ask ATP to make me “HAPPY” all I wanted was to be able to register for my classes/prerequisites to start my BSN-RN degree. I want what I PAID FOR! ATP couldn’t figure out the error or why I couldn’t register for my classes until 5 months later. I don’t know anybody who’ll pay for a service, continue to pay for a service and attend ALL phone and online appointments, but doesn’t receive the service or product they paid for!!!!ATP says they gave me “several options and I chose to hold off on confirming my withdrawal.” I feel like this, if I wasn’t attempting to work with ATP- why did I have so many follow-up appointments with different reps (that shows I was communicating with somebody at ATP)? ATP stated I “chose to hold off confirming my withdrawal”, that action alone shows that I was still willing to work with ATP. Evidently, I was waiting on Bridget C[redacted] to follow back up with me and SHE DIDN’T! I spoke with Bridget C[redacted] on 09-06-2016, about looking for schools in [redacted]-(near me, she even asked me the mileage I was willing to drive for school) that would accept ATP‘s prerequisites or classes. Bridget C[redacted] respond back to me not in 1 week, not in 2 weeks but on 10-06-2016- A WHOLE MONTH LATER!!!! Bridget wasn’t even following up on what we talked about, she wanted to address my Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint and that was on 10-06-2016. ATP doesn’t have any proof or record showing them trying to reach me earlier than 10-06-16. I have emails, phone records and voice-mails proving everything that I’m stating. So time is still passing and ATP has the audacity to still charge me a monthly fee of $235.41 plus late fees and I’m still not taking any classes with ATP. Now since Bridget couldn’t find an accredited school that would deal with ATP or accept ATP’s courses/prerequisites----ATP want to clarify that ATP ISN’T AFFILIATED WITH ANY COLLEGES. But ATP sent an email about ISU (Indiana State University) program changes and details that CAN potential IMPACT STUDENTS ENROLLED FOR THE BSN PROGRAM. ISU changes for their BSN prerequisites shouldn’t affect ATP since ATP isn’t affiliated with any colleges, right? ATP is a fraud and very MISLEADING, because every response from ATP reflected around ISU entrance requirement and what ISU would accept.ATP says there’s a PHASE 1 and PHASE 2, just like I previously mentioned in my last responses. This shows I had to speak with someone to even know about the 2 categories. ATP reps continued to state I was “confused”. Now ATP agrees about the 2 phases and that I could’ve taken any courses in no specific order. If that was true, why have categories like “PHASE 1 and PHASE 2”???? ATP has copy of my LPN transcript from Beck Career Center. I didn’t have any college credits, no nursing prerequisites and ATP didn’t accept any of my classes from Beck Career Center. I was starting from scratch. So why would I start courses/classes from Phase 2 when I needed Phase 1 classes to do phase 2 classes? That doesn’t make any sense whatsoever! ATP says I “could’ve swapped out any courses on my enrollment agreement”, but my payment plan was set-up to a monthly payment I could afford and my issue was this : not being able to register for any classes, so, swapping out classes wasn’t going to resolve not being able to register!ACHIEVE TEST PREP is a FRAUDULENT COMPANY, they breach contracts, make mistakes that they don’t own up to, misled me into thinking that they were working with [redacted] State University, continues to charge monthly fees without the product, no values, no accredited colleges works with them and blames me the customer when I catches them in their lies and no longer wants to do business with a company I don’t TRUST. The reason why I stop accepting calls from ATP and only corresponded via email was because ATP reps would say one thing to me over the phone but in their Revdex.com responses they say another. ATP continued making contradicting statements. Straight flat out LIED!!! Here’s a perfect example of ATP lying: ATP Revdex.com response on 10-20-12016 number #10 on their outline states “The student did not officially confirm her withdrawal during her appointment, she was provided with several options.” But on 09-27-2016, ATP Revdex.com response stated “We agreed to postpone the withdrawal and take time to search for additional college programs that may meet her needs, the STUDENT HAS CHOSE TO WITHDRAW and we can FINALIZE HER REQUEST.” ATP stated “we can FINALIZE her request” but ATP still hasn’t finalize my withdrawal request. I emailed, mailed and stated over the phone my request to withdraw from ATP, requested a Full refund and cancellation of the contract ATP breached. ATP wouldn’t honor my withdrawal and didn’t rectify the situation, so I chose to use the Revdex.com forum to state my case and to warn other consumers like me who put their trust in a company and don’t receive what they pay for. People will see ATP patterns, and that is to mislead the consumer into believing ATP can help a student achieve their nursing degree in a shorter amount of time than traditional colleges by testing out of exams. What ATP fails to tell the consumer is, ATP isn’t affiliated with any colleges and the student/consumer will have a hard time finding an accredited college that will accept ATP courses/classes for nursing. So when it all boils down to it MY ACTIONS SPEAKS VOLUMES, here my actions:1) I signed up with ATP on March 2016 to start the journey of becoming an RN.2) I paid $450.00 deposit for classes/courses at ATP for the BSN RN degree3) I gave ATP MY debit card info for automatic monthly withdrawals of $235.414) I attended ATP new student orientation5) I attended ATP 101 info class6) I followed up with ALL my phone appointments 7) I informed ATP that I couldn’t register 8) I waited 5 months after signing up with ATP before requesting withdrawal from ATP9) I made 2 payments ($470.82) even with having difficulties registering10) I even waited for Bridget to follow up back with me. Those actions I’ve mentioned above shows that I wanted to further my career in nursing and tried to go through ATP for help with achieving my goal. Let me put this on record, I love nursing with a passion. I’ve been in the nursing field for 16 years; I was cna for 3 years and an LPN for 13 years. If I wasn’t serious about taking the next step in my life to further my nursing degree, why would I even sign up with ATP and give ATP money. ATP response was “she’s confused and frustrated”. I’m never confused about how I spend my money, I wasn’t confused when ATP received $450.00 deposit, I wasn’t confused when ATP took 2 monthly payments off my debit card, and not confused now with wanting A FULL REFUND OF $920.82 and CANCELLATION OF CONTRACT. Frustrated was an understatement, paying a company and they blame you for their error.ATP where’s your values or morals???ATP knows I was calling and emailing them for a resolution. I didn’t just give ATP $920.82 just because I like ATP or just for the heck of it. ATP stop with the shenanigans and give me back my MONEY and cancel the contract. ATP stop with the senseless responses because all you’re doing is making your company look bad. ATP don’t have a legit reason on why they should keep my money, when ATP made the mistake with my application which stopped me from registering. So ATP we can go back and forth, but all my evidence and actions shows I was serious about my career and my money.ATP stop being a FRAUD and do what's right! so we both can go on with our lives.

As was discussed with this student, the signed contract includes a clear withdrawal/refund policy that dictates that the student is legally obligated to pay Achieve Test Prep 36% of his total program cost. This percentage amount is significantly more than the $250 early termination settlement...
amount that was mutually agreed upon. Despite this settlement agreement; however, we will release this student from his $250 obligation and void his contract.

I am rejecting this response because:
They are not being truthful. One of their people called me a year after I advised them I was not ready to test. I hope that other students are advised ahead of time through the Revdex.com or anyway possible about the poor service and untruthful people they will be working with. They did not hold up there end of the contract. They did not return calls and they admitted to me that they could see where I was not contacted etc. This is a travesty and I hope no other unsuspecting people give their money to this company.

First let me say that we are very sorry that you had a negative experience with Achieve Test Prep. Every student is very important to us, and wereally only succeed when the student does. Let me offer that we would very much like to resolve this issue if possible. To summarize your...
complaint to the Revdex.com, you feel that you were not properly informed about the college fees during your appointment with our admissions representative. We are sorry that you did not understand the college fee component after this meeting, but please let me assure you that each admission representative is trained to clearly discuss all three components of the fees with each student before the student enrolls, and the three components are even listed as part of the Powerpoint presentation. And probably most importantly, the enrollment agreement includes an estimate of each of thesethree fee components as well as statement that college fees are extra and not included with Achieve Test Prep fees. I have included a copy of these two pages with your initials for your review. With all that said, I realize you may still feel that you were not properly informed, and we are not looking to point fingers. Instead, we would like to find a solution. Here is a summary of what we already did to try to solve this problem for you:On June 11 – You spoke to our support team, and we offered to reduce your Achieve Test Prep monthly payment amount so that you would have more money available for the college fees. You declined this offer. On June 18 – You spoke with our withdrawal department and were presented the option to switch to the [redacted] BSN Bridge program, which allows students the option to apply for federal financial aid for the college fees. At that time, you said that you would be willing to meet with our BSNprogram expert to learn more.On June 19 – You spoke to our BSN program expert and indicated that you liked the ISU BSN program and wanted to start by takingthe Chemistry course.Following this meeting, we can only conclude that you decided to still withdraw from the program. On June 22 you tried to connect with your advisor in our withdrawal department, but he was not available at that time. He returned your call later, but then you were not available at that time to discuss your withdrawal request. When you called back later, your advisor was already gone for the day. You also filed the Revdex.com complaint on this day.On June 26 – You called us to make sure we did not process your monthly loan payment, which we did not and placed on hold.On June 30 – You spoke to our withdrawal department and were presented with the opportunity to appeal your financial obligation to Achieve, which was calculated based on the Cancellation/Refund Policy in the enrollment agreement. I hope that it is evident that we have tried very hard to address your concerns as they came up and that we offered alternative solutions when available. And even now, we hate to see you not continue with our program and achieve your dream of becoming an RN. We really do help students just like yousuccessfully navigate RN bridge programs every day. These programs are not easy to navigate on your own, and Achieve really does help increase the student’s chances of success. We invite you to reconsider your decision to leave the program. No matter what happens, however, we wish you the best in your journey to becoming an RN!
It is our policy to discuss any Board of Nursing restrictions for the college options presented before students enroll with Achieve Test Prep. The Director of Admissions was given a documented warning for the error and could be terminated for such an offense if a pattern of non-compliance exists. We...
regret any inconvenience this caused the student. As a practice, we re-cap this topic during an Important Information Session that students attend shortly after enrolling. Information regarding Board of Nursing restrictions is also available on each college's website. At this time we have outlined an alternative program plan, and the student has indicated that she is satisfied with this alternative and that she plans to proceed. However, should she decide to withdraw, we would be taking into consideration our employee's error by making an exception to the standard cancellation policy through our appeals process.
We are sorry for any frustration that the student has experienced regarding the cancellation policy. It is very important to us at Achieve Test Prep to make each student’s experience a good experience. Students do not enroll with Achieve Test Prep intending to cancel, and our pro-rated cancellation...
policy is actually a program benefit. However, we do understand that sometimes it is unwelcome news to hear that balance is owed to complete the withdrawal process. The policy is the same for each student, and the amount owed or refunded is based on a straightforward calculation. It is our policy to discuss the cancellation policy at the time of enrollment, and we have students specifically initial next to it because it is important for our students to know that they can withdraw at any time for any reason and only be responsible for a portion of the enrollment price. We also give all students several days after enrolling to cancel for no obligation at all beyond a nominal application fee. Not all test prep companies offer such a cancellation policy. We have many students from other test prep companies who have been left on the hook for their full balance upon cancellation despite only partial participation. Many of these students specifically chose to enroll with Achieve Test Prep because of our cancellation policy in addition to our high pass rates. We do not guarantee that any credit union will approve a particular student; however, we are proud to offer guaranteed financing for all students with flexible payment plans so no students are ever turned away for poor credit. This student enrolled on 6/11/2016 becoming an official student and made payments towards her enrollment on 6/11, 6/20, and 7/8. She attended New Student Orientation and Achieve 101 on 6/28/2016, initially requested to withdraw on 7/13/2016, and spoke to a representative on 7/14/2016. She indicated that she was having financial difficulties, and the representative discussed several options to help make the program more affordable and lower her monthly payments. The student ultimately chose to pay a reduced amount per month for a temporary period until she was ready to proceed and has been making regular payments. The student requested to withdraw again on 3/7/2017. Since the student has not attended any additional classes since her last withdraw request, the cancellation terms are the same as if she had withdrawn in July 2016. The student rejected the terms that are documented in the enrollment agreement and under no legal obligation to do so, the representative made an offer to significantly reduce the balance owed in hopes of reaching an amicable resolution with the customer. The offer was contingent upon signing a confidential settlement agreement, which is standard practice for contract disputes. The student rejected those terms as well. We know that some people view settlement negotiations negatively, and we regret that this increased the customer’s frustration, but these types of written settlement agreements are very common. At this time, we are still attempting to resolve this cancellation according to the terms outlined in the enrollment agreement, and we hope to reach an amicable resolution soon.

I am rejecting this response because: the Chemistry class was not delayed just due to illness I was given the wrong date and that date was posted o. My account I have screen shots. It was not changed until after the supposed end date because I told the teacher and she had to contact them. So I was out 2 weeks on their mistake. Anatomy and Phisiology has been canceled three times once was Achives lack of having someone available for technical difficulties on Sundays the other two were instructors emergencies. The delays were not due to holidays. Those were incorporated already in the end date. Yes you can ask for a class recording but that does not do you much good when the last class is after your scheduled exam. And I paid for live instruction why should I settle for a recording that I cannot ask questions or get clarification. And a minimal fee to reschule exams? I shouldnt have to pay it at all at this was the schools fault not mine why should I pay for their mistakes? The is bad business practice. And as for taking another course with them to make up for their mistake I saying I needed Spanish? I need no other courses and if I did after my experiences with them I would most likely not cancel! It is insulting that they think I should pay for mistakes they make.

Achieve Test prep agrees with the Enrollment Date and Withdraw Request Date outlined in this complaint. [redacted] requested to withdraw on 10/20/2015 and spoke with a student services advisor about this the same day. [redacted] explained that she had changed her mind about the method in which...
she wanted to earn her ASN degree. An appointment was made with a manager to handle the official withdrawal, and that meeting took place on 11/2/2015. We explained the refund eligibility to [redacted] as outlined in the enrollment agreement, and she did not like the terms. We offered her an alternative solution in hopes to come to an amicable resolution. Rather than processing the contractual refund amount, we offered a slightly smaller refund, modified her enrollment from an 8 course package towards her ASN to a 4 course package – which she could use towards ASN courses, NCLEX prep courses, BSN courses or traditional tutoring, and a custom Degree Planning Report to help her choose a school for achieving her BSN. [redacted] said on 11/2/2015 that she accepted this alternative. ATP documented the new agreement on her student record and sent the agreed refund to [redacted], which she cashed on 12/31/2015. We are sorry if there was confusion or misunderstanding regarding this agreement. I have since spoken with K[redacted] (our student) and her mother [redacted] (who financed her ATP program), and they have indicated they understand and accept the options available to them.
We regret to learn of this student’s frustration, and we are committed to addressing and resolving each of the student’s concerns. We do our best to avoid cancellations, but emergencies do happen from time to time. Due to the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s holidays, these particular 2...
classes were longer than usual. Unfortunately, both instructors also had to cancel a class due to illness. This is not typical, and excessive class length would not be expected for the student’s future courses.Testing centers only charge a small fee to cancel or reschedule an exam, so students should not have to forfeit a prepaid exam fee in the event of a class cancellation. Students can also receive a virtual recording for any missed class or drop and retake the course for no additional charge if schedule issues arise. We make every effort to properly evaluate student’s unofficial transcripts to determine courses needed, but the final decision always rests with the college. We have offered to swap out Spanish for another class the student is eligible for at no additional charge. We hope that no students feel rushed to enroll, and all students can review the contract details and ask questions within the 72 hour grace period should they change their mind. This student has taken more than 50% of the courses on her enrollment agreement before requesting to withdraw. Our Customer Service manager has been in touch with this student to work towards a resolution. We hope that the student will decide to resume, and we are confident we can help her be successful as evidenced by her passing grade in the Microbiology exam.
We regret that [redacted] was not 100% satisfied with her
Achieve Test Prep experience. Before enrolling, we disclosed to [redacted] that
the state of ** Board of Nursing has specific requirements for [redacted] graduates who apply for a nursing license in that state. These
requirements...
were discussed in detail and are also available on the college’s
website. If [redacted] had additional questions or concerns about this, we
regret that she did not ask us before enrolling or invoke her right to cancel
within 72 hours under the terms of the enrollment agreement. [redacted] signed
up for 1 course and attended the class. Although she has decided not to pursue
her degree through [redacted] due to the restrictions in her state,
Achieve Test Prep has offered for her to swap out of the course she is
attending and into any course that she could apply towards a degree at the
college of her choice. [redacted] informed us that she is no longer interested
in pursuing an LPN to RN bridge program. Again we are sorry that [redacted] has
chosen not to continue. She purchased and attended 1 course, and we believe
that our offer to swap her into another course for no additional charge is a
fair resolution to this matter.
