Review: To Whom It May Concern, On February 13, 2014, the day of that great snow storm, my home encountered a devastating flood. I called the local fire department because I thought they could turn off the water so that it would stop flowing in my house, but there was nothing they could do to stop the sewage from coming in. The firemen called the City of [redacted] Sewer Maintenance Supervisor, Mr. [redacted] and told him that I really needed his help. Thank God he responded and stopped the problem. I called and reported my problem to [redacted] I also called and reported it to my local [redacted] office, [redacted] at [redacted] telephone [redacted]. On Friday February 14, 2014, my local [redacted] Office gave me instructions as to what I needed to do, because I had never had a problem to this magnitude before. I was told that I would need a carpenter to do the restoration of my home. I told the agent that I have no one that I know to call; she was very sympathetic and nice. She told me that there was a contractor they refer to people because he did very good work and I was assured that these carpenters were very responsible people and it was said that I would not be disappointed. I am not upset with the agency because they were trying to help me. The agent gave me the name and telephone number of [redacted] and [redacted] of ACE GENERAL CONTRACTOR, 1[redacted], telephone [redacted]. They are also known as, HVAC HEATING AND AIR. When the contractors started the work they were very nice and did good work until about half way through the job, problems started to arise. They would only use their people to install the carpeting and linoleum, painting, and making and installing the kitchen cabins, and all other things that needed to be replaced had to be with their people that they used. I had to move into a hotel while my house was being restored. [redacted] and [redacted] had the key to my house so they unlocked the door and let each sub-contractor in to do work, they never supervised their sub-contractors, nor did they make sure the jobs they sub-contracted them for was according to previous standards, or above previous standards as according to my insurance contract. I had a problem with them showing up for the completion of the work. When I moved back into my house I had to beg [redacted] to bring my furniture into my house. When Id ask him to bring it out of the POD into my house he would raise his voice at me in anger and said that he had other customers that he had to do work for, and that I had to wait my turn. I was in my house two weeks before he would give me my furniture. They did not have the cabinets made with all the extra things my original cabinets had; these were necessary things. One of the things that was missing and was necessary, was the electric wiring inside the cabinets was not properly installed, so that the electrical outlets could be put in their original places. There are parts missing inside the cabinets that hole the electrical boxes. I told them to put only one electoral outlet outside the cabinet to plug appliances in. They agreed to do as I had asked them to do. When I came from the hotel to check my house [redacted] and [redacted] did not do as we had agreed on, instead, they cut two holes in the cabinets and destroyed the cabinets. They had patch work done to try to fix what they had deliberate destroyed. The cabinets are now quiet different from when the installer first installed them. I originally had laminated counter tops. Prior to the kitchen cabinet being made I picked out the laminated covering for the cabinet counter top and gave it to [redacted], later he called me and said the insurance did not allow in the contract for the laminated tops. [redacted] said that I had to choose a lesser priced top or pay an additional $300.00 out of my pocket. I later found out from the insurance person that was appointed over my case that everything in my house should have been replaced either equal to the value or above that what was destroyed. The [redacted]s refused to install a proper replacement part inside the cabinet that holes the electrical box, so they attached it to a shelf and said it will not last long because there need to be another part made inside to hole the electrical box. So they, in so many words have let me know that doing the job according to at least previous standards was not going to be done, yet, they have all the money. Again, after the carpet installer had installed the carpet on the Dining Room floor, and put down the linoleum on the kitchen floor, the metal piece that he used to separate the carpet from the linoleum was installed in a slanted position. I told him and I told [redacted] and [redacted] that it was never that way and I need it to be fixed properly. To this day, they will not return my calls, nor will they attempt to correct the problems. It was said by both, [redacted] and [redacted], the carpet installer, and [redacted] employee) that the kitchen cabinets are not in their original place and they do not line up with the wall correctly. My kitchen was never in this poor condition. It is also embarrassing and humiliating when I have family and friends over, and they know that my home was never like this! [redacted] installed the drain in the kitchen sink to the garbage disposal unit. When water gets in the sink it comes out under the kitchen cabinet. I have called him but there is no answer, I have left messages in detail, and he want return my calls. I have even text [redacted] on his telephone telling them the emergency, but there has been no response to either my text or call. I have to pay a plumber out of my pocket to stop the leak. This entire restoration from the flood was only sDesired Settlement: They must pay for the work to be done and replacement cost and labor and all that is involved with properly restoring my home to what they were contracted to do.

Response:

On first conversation with [redacted], she stated that she had water damage she needed to have fixed but she had never had a good experience with a contractor. She said every contractor she had ever had do work for her [redacted] her over just because she was a single, black, woman. We received the job of doing the repairs for [redacted] on February 18, 2014. [redacted] had been in before us and done the dry out and demolition work. We were given a copy of her insurance estimate, and after reviewing found things that were not included or had wrong measurements. The adjustor did not want to have to come back out and deal with Ms. [redacted] again, so he instructed [redacted] and [redacted] to re-write estimate with what they found and he would review it. All changes were approved and work began. Ms. [redacted] was reluctant to give us a key, so each day we would have to call her to get in - sometimes waiting an hour or more for her to show up and let us in. This started throwing workers behind so she finally agreed to turn a key over to [redacted]. We use subcontractors for certain aspects of our work but they were always cleared through Ms. [redacted] first. For example - we used a different painter because she didn't like the company we normally use. We do not make a habit of baby sitting our workers or subcontractors. We check their work regularly and anything not up to standards is corrected. Ms. [redacted]'s kitchen cabinets are EXACTLY the same as what she had before. Same size in the same place. Formica counter tops were re-installed; this is what she originally had. The cabinets contained nothing extra that we did not put back except a receptacles. We originally installed all the receptacles back but Ms. [redacted] asked us to remove one on the end. We did and payed the cabinet maker ourselves to make a replacement piece for area where receptacle was removed. The cabinets are in better shape than when we first started. Originally the cabinet bottoms were rotten out from a leak she had had over an extended time period. This was damage not related to insurance claim. When work was completed, and it was time to move contents back in, we had several days of rain that prevented us from doing so. Ms. [redacted] would call wanting to know when we were going to get her moved in but we felt it best to wait for clear weather. We didn't want to take her furnishings out in bad weather or track mud in on her new carpet. The job completion date was approximately May 7, 2014. [redacted] met with Ms. [redacted] on May 23, 2014, to do a walk thru and make sure she was satisfied with the work. She told him she was and made final payment. About 3 weeks later, she called complaining that the kitchen floor didn't line up with the cabinets and doorway. [redacted] and [redacted], the floor installer, and a representative from [redacted] went on separate days and checked the floor. No one saw a problem with the floor that couldn't be solved with moving the metal in the doorway a few inches. She was not interested in this solution. She wanted a new floor installed. No one ever told her that her cabinets were not installed in the original place. Then, on August 18, 2014, Ms. [redacted] called and said her garbage disposal was leaking and we needed to fix it. It was working properly, with no leaks when we installed it back in May. If it was going to leak due to our install, it would have done so before 3 months after the fact. [redacted] and [redacted] chose not to call her back on this problem because they have come to the conclusion there is no satisfying her and did not feel like arguing with her any more.We do not feel that we owe her anything. We did her repairs per the estimate, and she was completely satisfied when she made final payment. Her home is better than it originally was. We believe after looking at the kitchen floor, and asking friends opinions, she didn't like her choice anymore and wanted us to be responsible for replacing it.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Now that [redacted] has made it clear as to what is foremost on his mind by pointing out that I am “black” and a “woman” and “single,” a person cannot help but wander, that maybe this is was his real problem as to why he didn’t feel it necessary to restore my house back to at least the equivalence of the kitchen cabinets that he removed. He chose to believe that he could ignore the fact that my kitchen cabinet is three inches shorter in width than the original cabinets. It has cause not only a very serious problem to the functionality of the cabinet itself, but also the metal rod in the floor that separates the carpet from the linoleum is slanted and it is very obvious the moment you step into the kitchen. This is very tacky and embarrassing. It has cast the value of my home to decrease. My original cabinet tops were laminated. They are not laminated now! I had picked out the cabinet top that I desired which was comparable to what I originally had. [redacted] called me in a high pitched voice, and said that if I wanted that particular one I would have to pay out of my pocket an additional three hundred dollars. He met me at [redacted] to show me what I could get without paying $300.00 additionally to him. As I stated in my previous letter, the insurance representative later told me that the money was included in the contract that my kitchen was to be restored back to the original quality or above. It was depending on the availability of the product. The original cabinets had an attachment built inside the cabinet wall that held the electric wiring, and also electrical containers that the electrical unit was permanently and securely attached to. The original electrical wiring was for the two electrical outlets that was located on outside on the back, and the other outlet was outside of the upper part of the side panel of the cabinet. This had been convenient for using multiple appliances at the same time to prepare large meals for the Holidays. [redacted] and [redacted] told me that because of how the cabinets were made the electrical units could not be put back in their original places. This is when they chose against my instructions to cut holes on both sides of the new cabinet down near the floor, whereas none of the appliance cords could reach the outlet. With serious debating, they finally had the two side panelings on the cabinet changed, but that was after serious problems with [redacted] stating that they were my cabinets and I just had to accept it that way. The side paneling on the cabinet is not as attractive as the first. The kitchen cabinets [redacted] and [redacted] detached from the walls in my kitchen (themselves), and disassembled them in my kitchen and removed from my home (themselves) which the insurance company paid them to remove them. [redacted] from [redacted] did not clean, move or remove the kitchen cabinets, nor did they remove the tile that was on the kitchen floor. [redacted] of [redacted] only removed the portion of the walls and the same portion of insulation that was inside the walls. They also removed paneling from the walls in the dining room, and they removed all carpeting. [redacted] tried to make me pay him for taking down the paneling that [redacted] took down and removed from my home, he said that was his money and that I was cutting into his profits. I called the insurance representative, he said that only a small portion belong to [redacted] and the balance belonged to me. The insurance representative told me what to pay [redacted]. This reminds me that the insulation inside my townhouse walls are the color “pink” but [redacted] and [redacted] put a “dirty gray” insulation back inside the walls. When I questioned [redacted] about it he anxiously stated that it was the same just the color was different. I have found out that even this was compromised, the very quality that was behind the walls before should have been replaced with the same or above quality, according to [redacted] Insurance Claims Representatives. I understand the “dirty gray” insulation is cheap to purchase and cheap in quality.

When the claim to be professional contractors entered my home on Monday February 17, 2014, we introduced ourselves. I continued to tell them that they were recommended by my local [redacted] Insurance agency, and I told them the name of the person who gave me their information. I told them that she assured me that they were honest people and that they do good work. They actually began the work in my house the following day. As they began to go in and out of the front door [redacted] pointed out that my thresh hold in the doorway was not correctly installed and that it needed a certain support underneath it. I agreed, and I paid him to repair both front and back doors. I had recently had all outside doors replaced by what was said to be a trust worthy contractor, but he proved to be dishonest. Prior to these recent contractors, I had a contractor for many years who was excellent, but he was in an automobile accident and passed away. Since then the quality of contractors seemed to had diminished.

[redacted] suggests that the insurance adjuster didn’t return to my house because he didn’t want to come back and deal with me again. This statement [redacted] made is absolutely not truth! The adjuster was a pleasant person; we laugh and talked the entire time he was in my house. There were never any misunderstandings, or confusion. He explained that his adjustment might need to be readjusted, because the contractor might discover something that he could not see. He nicely explained that this is normal and that they would work with the newly discovered adjustments as much as possible. He was very professional. I can surely say that [redacted] is reverting to slander to try and tarnish my character because of my complaint against them. I promise you, proof is available to justify this complaint. According to [redacted] Insurance Company Representative, they do not have their own adjusters; therefore they hire Adjusters from other companies that specialize in doing adjustments. The Representative continued to say that [redacted] could not send him back because the adjuster came from [redacted]., and that his schedule would not permit him to return anytime soon. Also, it was too costly to bring the Adjuster back from [redacted]. because there were a lot of expenses the insurance company would incur. [redacted] Claims representative told [redacted] that they would pay him to do the necessary additional adjustments. This can be confirmed by [redacted] Insurance Company. I see that Mr. [redacted] neglected to tell you that his adjustment was far above reasoning; therefore the price that Mr. [redacted] wanted was rejected by the insurance company at first, and it took two weeks before [redacted] went back to work on my house because he said that he had other jobs to finish.

The strong language that [redacted] said that I used is just his way of saying that he did not expect that I would complain about his way of doing business! [redacted]’s claims that I was reluctant to give him the key to my house and they had to wait for hours before they could get access, is absolutely false. I was still living in the house when they began the job, and I was not going to allow men to just enter my house anytime they desired. We agreed that [redacted] should call me the night before and tell me what time they were coming to my house; which they rarely came at the time they said. When he said 8:00 A.M. they would show up at 9 A.M or 10:00 A.M. or late in the afternoon many times. There were times I started leaving to take care of my business and let them call me when they arrived at my house since they had a problem with respecting their word; and me. During this time I was working a part time job from 10 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. I had permission from my supervisor to leave work any time that I needed to because of my emergency at home. I worked exactly seven minutes from home. Regardless of whether I was at work or taking care of other business, it never took me more than ten minutes to get home, because [redacted] isn’t that large that it take an hour to get anywhere! When I moved into the hotel, I gave him the key and there were days sometimes that he never showed up to do any work at all. The Representative had to continually get on him about his negligence. I continuously got calls from the insurance company stating that they were not going to pay for my stay at the hotel any longer. I have never experienced any problems to this degree before in my entire life!

[redacted] continues to make false statements. He stated that the subcontractors that he hired were always cleared through me. [redacted] refused to ever tell me the name of the people that he was using, and he would not tell me their company name. I asked him for the names and phone numbers of the people that he was letting in my house, he told me, with anxious attitude, that I didn’t need to be bothered with that because he would be responsible for them, and he continued to say that’s included in the money that my insurance company is paying him to do. I would ask [redacted] when certain people were going to do their insulations without telling him the reason, because I had plan to meet the people who he was letting into my house while he disappeared and went to other jobs that he had with other customers. I also got their business cards. I had never seen these people before or ever knew they even existed before [redacted] let them into my house. How could I approve of someone that I never knew existed? And what could I approve of when I had never seen any of their work? He said these are the people that he always uses on his jobs.

[redacted] stated that he check the work regularly of the people he hire. If that was truth, then why is my kitchen in the absolute deplorable condition that he left in and refuses to make any correction? [redacted] refuses to answer my calls; he has it where my calls are blocked. The Garbage Disposal drain in one of the double sinks was installed by [redacted]. Whatever he used to seal it to the sink with kept peeling and had a very toxic fume so bad that I could not use that side of the sink until recently, and the water leaks out of that sink under the cabinet. I called them at another business they own and my calls have never been acknowledged.

Yet, another false statement! [redacted] said that my cabinets were rotted. I saw the cabinets when they were taking them apart, there was no rot anywhere. I had a container under the sink that I kept soap pads in it, which has some water in the dish only. The water never touched the cabinets. It was obviously a recent leakage that had occurred.

If [redacted] would just only try to tell the truth at least once, he might get a chance to get recognized as an honest business person! It did not rain for two weeks after I moved back into my home! I moved back into my home April 24, 2014. When I’d ask for my furniture to please be taken out of the POB and brought into my house, [redacted] got angry and said, “Ms. [redacted] I have other customers that I have to take care of, you have to wait your turn when I can get to you!” I was surprised at his remarks. I said, “so what are you telling me that I have to wait on line? You start my job months ago, so I think I was first on you line! Well, he wanted to prove that he was boss, so I prayed to the Lord; then I just laughed, because the insurance company stopped paying for the Pod the day that I checked out of the hotel. While [redacted] was trying to intimidate me, he stuck himself with a nice fat bill, but I’m sure it was my money he took and paid it with.

[redacted] and [redacted] came to my house looking for the check only! They never even mention the words walk through! They came into my kitchen and were refusing to fix the electrical problem that they were planning to leave under the sink. I told them that I was tired of the problems and I just needed to be through with all the problems. [redacted] attached the dangling electrical box to a shelf and said that if will not stay there because the shelf was too thin to hold it. I asked him why the cabinets were made like the original ones. He said that he didn’t know that I would have to ask the man who made them. I was not sure that if I held back the money for the cabinet problem that had just been discovered that they might decide to force the issue because I was alone and it was two of them so I lifted the check up towards heaven and prayed. I was exhausted from all the problems; I never raised my voice to either of them because if I get angry it keeps me from being able to study. My mind does not retain any of my studies material if I get traumatizes; therefore I can’t afford to get angry. I attend an accredit University on line for my Bachelor’s Degree. I feel that there are better ways to handle the problem without losing the money I’ve paid for the semester and would have to repeat the class if I fail; unintelligible fighting I don’t find to be necessary.

If [redacted] were sworn under oath, he would most likely be arrested for perjury. If he was given a lie detectors test, the judge would probable through the book at him! His carpet installer and the person he got the carpet and linoleum from said the problem was because of the kitchen cabinet is not correctly lined up with the wall. [redacted], from [redacted] came and did measurements and was astonished because of his findings; that the kitchen cabinet is three inches too narrow or short. He distinctly said that the problem cannot completely be corrected that I can in other words camouflage it with getting linoleum without lines and it would not show so badly. I told him this is the linoleum that I want and why should I have to fix a mess that someone else caused? [redacted] admitted that years ago when he measured my floors the lines were all straight. I know about business ethics, but I am sure that none of his friends would be foolish enough to perjure themselves if they were under oath just to protect [redacted].

God is my witness, and He will reveal the truth! He will judge liars!

Very sincerely,

Business

Response:

After reading [redacted]'s response, it is more than obvious that nothing we say is going to be the correct response. There is no satisfying her and she refuses to acknowledge that her house was not "absolute perfection" before the repairs. I could send statements from the floor installer, from the cabinet man, and from our representative at [redacted], but it will just be met with a long tirade of everyone lying and god judging them in the end. If everyone was as good, honest, and perfect as she believes she is, this would be a wonderful world. I stand by our original statements: everything was restored as good or better than it originally was. Her floor was not perfectly lined to begin with and we did the best with what we had to work with. She was asked before the metal strip was placed permanently if that would be ok with her and she was fine with it. The floor installer showed her the other options they had and she told him to go with it like that. We did not change anything on her cabinets, especially the size. As I said in the beginning; NO ONE can make her happy!! It's a shame there isn't a site for business's to go to so they will know not to deal with people like her.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This picture (attached) was taken by the manager of Sewer Maintenance of [redacted] He took pictures of my first floor after he stopped the sewage from coming into my house. This was before his men started cleaning my house from the water & sewage. This was before [redacted] and [redacted] and [redacted] came to my house. This was the same day of the problem which was 2/13/14.

See how straight the lines are in the tile on the floor?

Response:

I have reviewed the photos. Attached is a letter from our floor installer regarding the installation. At the time the floors were being completed, [redacted] was present at the home. The installer showed her the placement of the metal and made sure it was were she wanted it to be. She told him to go ahead with installing it where it is now. If she had told him then that it was run differently before, he would have put it back as it was originally. We do not feel we are responsible for her dissatisfaction in her floor due to her giving the ok on placement of the metal and the fact that she had the opportunity to tell him where it was originally.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have read [redacted] letter. I was home when Mr. [redacted] installed the Dinning Room carpet, but I was not home when the Linoleum was installed on the kitchen floor. The linoleum had been already installed prior to the carpet’s installation. What I distinctly remember [redacted] saying to me was, “Ms. [redacted] the carpet is going to be slightly off because the wall and the kitchen cabinet are not lined up, so it will be kind of off.” My response was, “as long as it is only slightly, but only slightly! I also told him that I want everything as straight as it was prior to the flood.” I left the room and went up stairs, when I came back into the kitchen area I saw the horror of his invention! [redacted] had put the rode down, but the carpet had not been attached to it yet. I then express that I can not live with that!! That is a mess!! I continued to tell him that my house has always had a good appearance and I can’t accept that!” I also told him that would cause me to lose thousands of dollars when I sell my house. Those are my exact words. [redacted] said, “I can’t change this it’s too late. He continues to say, I’ve already nailed the rode to the cement floor and it’s a problem trying to get those nails out and it will bend the rode real bad.” He then finished with what he was doing.

Between the frustrations with [redacted] and [redacted] and my trying to get them to complete the work in my house so that I could move out of the hotel, the insurance company had a problem with the length of time it was taking for my house to be completes because they wanted me out of the hotel. I attend an accredited University online. I also had to complete timely home work assignments from my Professors, in addition to the fact that I work a job. I ran out of space within my very being to even try to argue with him. I just needed him to leave my house because it was late evening before he finished.

Remember, [redacted] was hired by [redacted]. I understand that [redacted] gives Mr. [redacted] his flooring jobs that he get. [redacted] stands to lose money if he tells the whole truth and nothing but the truth!

Think about it? Why would anyone consciously and willingly and understandingly give permission to anyone to disfigure their home and bring embarrassment and shame to their home, while causing the Real E[redacted] value of their house to automatically decrease? Yes! I am a woman; it sure doesn’t mean I’m stupid!

Since I’ve initiated this complaint, I have gotten a written estimate from the some carpet company that [redacted] purchased the carpet and linuleom from that he had installed in my house. [redacted] had contacted the salesman and told him the price range that the insurance company had approved. [redacted] did not tell me nor the salesman the truth. Therefore [redacted] had arranged for me to get carpeting of less value than what was originally in my house as per the insurance contract. He fully understood that replacements had to be equal to or above (not less than) the replacement value which was according to the Insurance Representative’s communication, and I constantly kept reminding [redacted] of my insurance policy. The balance of the money was kept in [redacted]’s pocket along with all the other cuts he made in my house.

P.S. a copy of the estimate will be sent without hesitation upon request.

Very Sincerely,

Business

Here is what we sent to the DPOR today. Wes wanted me to add that he has made his last statement in regard to the [redacted] deal. He feels that we will be going back and forth until the end of time. So from this point on he wants to consider himself withdrawn from any further debate about her.Thank you,[redacted]OtrÌce Administrator

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Revdex.com File #[redacted]In response to the last correspondence you sent me from;( 1) [redacted]: Claims that he did extra work for me, but he neglected to add that he and his father charged me for any extra work and I have cancelled checks to prove it. (2) [redacted]: Stated that he made the cabinets to the exact footprints as the original cabinets. If that is true then why were the sections that held the two electrical boxes inside the cabinets missing from the new ones he made. When I discovered they were not replaced, [redacted] would not have the problem corrected, instead he and his father [redacted] decided to cut holds in the new cabinets near the floor on two sides when we had a discussion about it prior to their mess up. I had distinctly pointed out where I wanted only one outlet installed. When I left to go back to the hotel, they took pure advantage and cut the cabinets exactly where they wanted to. [redacted] didn’t like the fact that I wouldn’t accept what they did. I had one problem after another with his attitude. I constantly had to remind them that they were not going to be living in the house. Mr. [redacted] is not telling the truth that he built the cabinets exactly as the originals. If necessary this can also be proven. The photos that I have of the original cabinets show exactly where the two outlets were. Mr. [redacted] did not remove the back paneling on the cabinet he covered it with another panel. He had to come back several times to replace the side panel because he chose to replace it with material that was defective which had strange looking lines and imprints in the material; which was from his reject pile. The outward appearance of the cabinets was very nice, that is, before [redacted] and [redacted] chose to cut them up, after which they DO NOT have the same look. Mr. [redacted] did not replace the side panel with the same style as the first; they are not as nice looking now. [redacted] stated in his last correspondence with Revdex.com that [redacted] made the original cabinets. I don’t have any proof of that statement being true, and if he was the original cabinet maker then, why didn’t he build the section inside this cabinet that was in the original cabinet which was necessary for the attachment of the entire inside electrical wiring? Something is really wrong with this picture!(3) [redacted] That must have been [redacted]’s identical twin that came to my house and gave me an estimate on replacing the upstairs master bathroom flooring and downstairs carpeting many months prior to this work. [redacted] stated the uneven rod in my kitchen floor (which is very noticeable) does not affect the value in my home. I wasn’t aware of [redacted] having a [redacted] license in the [redacted] of Virginia which would qualify him to give expert advice on [redacted] evaluations; from my understanding he is a carpet salesman who is a friend of [redacted] and family. I did not have any idea as to the reason why the carpet man, Mr. [redacted] did not install the rod in a straight line until Mr. [redacted], on his return trip when [redacted] sent him back to my house after I told [redacted] that the rod must be straight because my house was not originally like this. I also told him this was unacceptable. Likewise with [redacted], when he took his measuring tape to show me that the cabinet and the wall, at the door from the laundry room/living room, did not line up because the cabinet did not extend out far enough, which was three inches too short. According to their false statement about the garbage disposal and kitchen sink, I want waste my time commenting. I have a statement from a licensed plumber that I had to hire to correct the problem and his findings are in writing. This has been a tremendous experience for me. As though it was not enough for me to have this major problem with the flood in my home, but to have to endure an additional problem from people you should be able to trust. There is a major problem with being taken advantage of if you are an elderly person, handicap, or single female. Regardless of the outcome, no one should just stand back and let people push them around because they may seem vulnerable.Even though I appreciate the Revdex.com, I realize you are limited in what can be accomplished therefore; I have chosen to let a judge have the final judgment in the matter.Thank you [redacted] I appreciate you and your work with Revdex.com. Sincerely, [redacted]

[redacted], Vice PresidentI am responding to the complaint filed with you by [redacted]. Miss [redacted]'s complaint is centered mainly on her cabinets and flooring. She states numerous times that we did not put her cabinets back as they originally were and that we were very difficult to work with. Throughout the whole restoration process, we were never given any indication that the customer was unhappy with the work as it was being performed. We even went beyond the scope of the est¡mate to do extra things she requested of us. Some of these things were done free of charge; such as hanging her flat screen TV on the wall twice, as she took it down after we had placed ¡t the first time and exchanged the original TV for a bigger one.It is true we have certain subcontractors we use on a regular basis. They all have excellent reputations and take pride in their work She did have a say in whether we used them or not as she would not let us use the painter we normally employee due to personal reasons between her and said painter. We were never made aware there was a problem until approx a month after she had made final payment. Miss [redacted] called about a problem with her flooring. [redacted] and [redacted] went and checked the flooring and told her they found nothing wrong but would contact the flooring installer, [redacted]'s Carpet, to come back and check it. The owner, [redacted] went and met the customer and he also found no problems. The metal strip was placed exactly as she had Ok'd them to place it. A statement from [redacted]'s Carpet is included, Not being satisfied with this, we also send a representative from[redacted] to check the flooring. [redacted] met with the customer and had the same findings everyone else did; metal strip was placed as it should have been. A statement from Mr. [redacted] is also included. When she could not get anyone to agree to replace the flooring, the customer starting calling saying her cabinets were installed back smaller than they originally were. She also claims her countertops are inferior to what she originally had. We tried on numerous occasions to explain to her that the cab¡nets are the exact size the originally were, And the countertop is a better quality than original. The carpet she picked her first color choice f¡om was not available to her and she was asked to pick again. This is why she believes she was not given a comparable top. The cabinet maker who built her cabinets was one who made the original cabinets in the dwelling. Included is a statement from him in regard to the size and quality of what he installed. The garbage disposal was installed with plumbers putty and the sink was caulked with clear caulk to prevent any water getting under the edge. Her problems with the garbage disposal leaking did not arise until August 2014. This is 3 months after final payment. There had been no leaks when installed and none up until that date. We chose not to go back due to the time it took for it to leak and also because of herinability to be made happy no matter what is done. We stand behind our statements made to the Revdex.com; our work was done 100% correctly and her dwelling was made as good if not better than its original condition.ACE General Contractor, Inc[redacted], owner
