In response to complaint from *** *** ** *** *** *** MA Ace Drilling Incdrilled a well in a multi lot subdivision for a builder Please note: bedrock in this area is soft and other newly drilled wells have collapsed This is an occurance of nature
and in Mr*** situation his well needed to be cleaned out The well casing was less than a foot above grade when the well was cleaned out A small extension of steel casing was used to allow the drill rig to set up properly A new pump was installed the well was chlorinated properly Ace attached customers garden hose to bottom of tank to expidite the flushing of chlorine through the system At final grade the well casing was too low 6" Pvc pipe was used to bring it above grade which is a very common and accepted process in the industry PVC does not rot or weather making it a quality material I was on my cell phone discussing the situation with Mr*** in my truck on the highway when I could no longer hear anyone at the other end I said hello three times and said can you hear me Still no response so I hung up the phone He did not call me back Please note the builder has been made aware of all repairs done at the above location Ace Drilling Inchas completed the work at the above location in a professional and efficient manner

In response to the complaint, Ace Drilling Incstands by the original answer that the 6" pvc couplin and extension are not considered an inferior product because it will not weather or corrode with the elements This extentsion is used in the industry and satisfies all issues Steel casing cannot be installed on top or in place of already installed pvcAce will no longer respond to this complaint as the problem was fixed in a timley and proffessional manner per request of the builder
Please note well was drilled for builder in January of Pump system was installed in June of Re drilling and installation of new pump was done for builder with no money out of pocket for home owner Builder has been notified and satisfied with all efforts to this matter

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint #[redacted]. Please add your rejection comments below.
We understand that a well collapsing is not an abnormal event. This is not our complaint.
Our complaint is rather simple, the clearance from the ground of the casing when we took possession of our house and when Ace came to redrill/clean out the well did not change; we have pictures that can easily illustrate that. I included a picture that shows the well casing clearance before we took possession of the house.
Our complaint is extremely simple; Ace took OUR steel casing and coupling and replaced it with PVC. In other words, Ace took something of higher value/cost that belongs to us and replaced it with something cheaper.
If the builder changed the clearance of the casing after Ace originally installed the well and the well casing clearance did not meet code or was no longer proper as Ace states in their response, that does not suggest that Ace can take something that belongs to us and replace it with a cheaper product.
If the call was disconnected as Ace stated, good customer service would have called back to resolve the problem.

Revdex.com:
Again, this is not complicated, when Ace Drilling Inc. drilled/cleaned our well they made a changed that was NOT authorized by us, THE OWNERS of the property and everything included in it. You were NOT authorized to change steel casing for PVC.
When you left the property, I was told that you were leaving the PVC as a temporary extension, not permanent, now you are saying that it was a permanent fix. Under no circumstance, would I had allowed you to make that change. Neither YOU nor THE BUILDER, had any right or authority to make changes on our property without our permission.
Because I was told that the extension was temporary, it is the only reason why I allowed it. I would have never allowed a permanent fix that included PVC, which is more inexpensive, and in my opinion looks cheap and ugly, to be a permanent solution. Furthermore, I would have not accepted screws that were upside down and electrical tape to brace the electrical pipe other than on a temporary fix. Just like what I was told it was and looked.
You had no right or authority to replace a higher priced item with a more inexpensive item. This was not a decision for Ace Drilling Inc. to make.
I want the PVC pipe and coupling you installed removed and replaced with the steel casing and a steel coupling, just like I had before you touched my well. All I have asked Ace Drilling Inc is to return my property to the way that I had it before they work on it. To use the same type of material that I had.
As far as your comment that the re drilling and pump were done with no out of pocket money to homeowner, that statement is false. When the well stopped working properly and pulling large amounts of sediment, it led to pre filters of our water filtration system to be replaced daily and a whole [redacted] whole house filter to be replaced within a few months after installation. The prefilter cost approximately $5 and were suppose to last approximately 3 months, instead we had to change the daily for few weeks. The [redacted] whole house filter cost more than a $1000 and it supposed to last approximately 3 years; we had to replaced ours within a few months. In addition, we paid over half a million dollars for our newly constructed home, which included a working well with steel casing not PVC. So just because I did not write a check to you, does not mean that I came out with no out of pocket cost.
