Academy Mortgage Corporation Reviews (854)

Revdex.com:
It was only after I forwarded a copy of my complaint to Academy Mortgage, did they find the payment, apply it to my account and finally contact me to let me know this had happened. Up until that point, no one would respond.
Thank you for your assistance in getting Academy Mortgage to do their job.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 11315049, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

If Ms. [redacted] will provide me with an email at [redacted]@academymortgage.com, stating she did not authorize Academy to pull her and her husband's credit, Academy will remove the credit pull from the Bureaus. I also need her and her husband's names, addresses and last four digits of their social security numbers in order for the Bureau's to remove their credit pull.

In the complaint, the borrower states she was told at closing that she would not receive a monthly statement until the first payment was made on April 1, 2016. She continues stating that she sent her payment in early to ensure the payment was received by the due date and shortly after she received...

a statement with a different account number on it. She placed a call to customer service and was told then had no record of her loan. She then called an Academy representative where she was told she should have contacted the corporate servicing department. The representative requested a copy of the cleared check and she received confirmation that the copy was received. As of the date of the complaint, the borrower states that it had been five (5) days since receipt of the check and that she had not received any response.
Upon our review, we have determined that the loan closed, February 25, 2016 and was uploaded into Academy’s mortgage servicing system, Mortgage Servicer (MS) on March 3, 2016. Academy then service released the loan to Academy’s permanent Servicing Center, Cenlar on April 1, 2016, which is also the date of the first payment due. The borrower’s new loan number with Cenlar is [redacted].
Upon origination of the loan, the borrower was provided a first payment letter noting the payment amount, payment due date, a new loan number and their payment address. When the borrower called to check on the status of her payment, the loan had not transferred and the customer service representative was not able to provide any loan information. Cenlar had cashed the check as part of their process and placed the funds in an account designated for unidentified funds, as there was not a loan associated at that time.
Ms. [redacted] then contacted Academy’s corporate servicing department, where she stated that she made her payment and that the check had processed through her account. The Specialist advised her to send in a copy of the front and back of the check and that Loan Servicing would forward and follow up.
Upon receipt of the copy of the cashed check, Loan Servicing forwarded the check to Cenlar to search for the missing payment. Cenlar replied stating that the search process may take 3 -5 business days. Cenlar completed their review, finding the missing payment and has posted the missing payment with the effective date as March 23, 2016 and applied it to the April - 2016 due date.
Loan Servicing management advised her Loan Officer (and his Regional Manager) of the resolution as the borrower contacted him for escalation of the issue. The notification addressed the payment issue described above, along with the posting date as well as the effective date. The borrower was not assessed any late fees nor was any adverse credit reported. As of the date of this letter, the loan is due for May 1, 2016 monthly payment.
At this time, all issues mentioned in the complaint have been corrected. If you have further questions, please contact April A[redacted] at ###-###-#### or Zane B[redacted] at ###-###-####.

Academy Mortgage apologizes that it did not meet [redacted]'s expectations. Per her request we are refunding her $[redacted].

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I have a conversation in writing that says:  (I'm leaving out all names) Me to my loan officer: I just got an email for another appraisal cost, have you spoken with Realtor?  I haven't heard anything from him so I was just curious, and I thought my appraisal fee was refundable I'd the contract didn't go through?
My loan officer's response:  Appraisal fee is refundable if you are turned down due to anything besides appraisal issues. From what I know of the appraisal issues finding out a complex is under litigation should have been brought to my attention before the appraisal, and apparently know one knew? It took the "condo" department to figure this out. That is not due to any appraisal issues.I am not pleased with this at all. This is not a resolution. I did not decline to give more money, I was simply OUT of money because of all the fees and payments I had to pay because I was never told about them until they needed to be paid. Once again, I leave a conversation upset and still nothing has gotten accomplished except for me to vent on deaf ears.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Nick had good communication and had fast responses to any questions or concerns. They were very detailed and clear in explaining the process of buying a home, as well as utilizing the VA benefits. We had a great experience in being a first time home buyer and would recommend them to any of our friends or family!

Review: I have been receiving advertisements from Academy Mortgage for almost two years. They arrive quite often, too often, and are a huge waste of paper. I have called [redacted] numerous times and asked to be taken off their mailing list. Each time I was told they would but they do not. The last few times I was laughed at like it amused the person. I'm tired of calling them to no avail. Since my last request I have been receiving even more junk mail from them. Is someone now being spiteful? Enough is enough!Desired Settlement: It's a simple request, I just want to be permanently removed from their mailing list and no longer receive Academy Mortgage advertisments. Can you help? Thank you...
