On 11/30/2015, while I was out of town, I received a phone call from my wife informing me one of heating system(s) upstairs was making noiseI asked her to call Absolute Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning, the company who installed the systemThe system is still under warranty for parts, but there would be some kind of service feeThe serviceman (Steven) arrived at my house and started to diagnosis the problem, this took less than one hour After making adjustments to help eliminate the noise coming from the squirrel cage, he returned downstairs to charge her a service fee of $While going over the paperwork and paying the service fee the noise from the unit returnedOnce the serviceman heard the noise he informed my wife he was going to get a motor My wife paid the first invoice (***) service fee of $He also informed my wife he would remove the $service charge on the next invoice The serviceman returned and replaced the motor and pulley, which took approximately one hour and minutes to accomplish The whole job to diagnosis and install the parts took no more than hours to accomplishMy wife received the second invoice (***) for $minus the $service chargeThe total cost to diagnosis and replace the parts under warranty was $When I returned home I called Absolute Comfort business office (12/03/2015) and informed the receptionist, I was not happy with the amount charged to replace the motorShe told me she did not know how the charges were determined, however she would have the serviceman call me back and explain the fees As of present, he has never returned my callI feel the amount charged was way outside the amount that should have been charged, to the point of price gougingIt was an opportunity by the serviceman to take advantage of a homeowner who has little experience dealing with service companiesDuring that period of time, the temperature was extremely low and my wife was concerned about keeping herself and our pets warm Also under most warranties by the manufacturer the parts are reimbursable I hope by reading this review you will consider your optionsThe bottom line, ask the right questions and beware of price gouging
