I requested a refund and to be removed as a cosigner from T *** several times before the bond was approved or posted.
On April 2nd 2020, I was advised I needed $1750.00 to post bond for someone. I paid the bond and signed paperwork thinking the $1750 would post the bond as stated in the paperwork as well.I received a call the evening of April 2nd from Jackie stating I needed $1,000 dollars and another cosigner. I stated I do not have either. I requested a refund, Jackie stated she would put in the refund which would take 24 hours. Jackie stated she could work with me. I asked if I find an additional cosigner and provide $500.00 on April 3rd would that work, I provided an additional co signer. Jackie stated she would request it and get back with me. Jackie called me back and advised my cosigner was approved and I was ok to pay the $500.00 tomorrow, the bond would be posted tonight. April 3rd 7:00 am I received a phone call from AAA Atlas requesting the $500 in order to post the bond. After going back and forth about the bond not being posted and being reassured, bond would be posted immediately after I paid the $500. I paid the $500. I called several times to find out the bond was not posted and is still not approved, they need an additional $500.00, I was told this by several employees. I called again and asked for a supervisor, Maggie advised me she was the supervisor. After advising Maggie of me, Jackie and the other women conversations and her saying I need an additional $500 to even submit the bond for approval again I requested a refund at 9:37 am on April 3rd. Maggie stated you dont want him out of jail. I stated I would like to go with another company and I restated all the issues again and that I received information of his unability to pay as well so I do not want to be an cosigner. Maggie then stated well you are going to go the the same thing with another company and it will take him longer to get out of jail.I redemanded a refund. Maggie placed me on hold for about 3-5 minutes, came back and stated I went ahead and got the refund approved his aunt just paid the other $500.00.I stated no I dont want you to approve the bond or post it. I would like a refund. Maggie then stated his aunt wants him out of jail dont you. I re requested a refund and stating I have up to the bond is posted to request a refund. Maggie said she would put in for the refund, I stated could you email me the refund request. She then stated it would take a few minutes to put it in but she will email to me. I immediately rushed over To AAA Atlas to be sure the refund was requested. Jackie advised me the bond has not been approved nor posted and no refund request. I asked for Maggie, she stated she rushed over to County a few minutes ago. I asked her to please do the request for me. She stated she didnt want to because Maggie said she would do it and it would be an additional 48 hours to get my money back. I said I dont care how long it takes I need something in writing showing I requested the refund before the bond is posted, she began requesting the bond. I asked if Maggie rushed across the street to post the bond would she know you cancelled it, she stated yes she will see it immediately and im letting her know as well. I received the refund request paperwork and was reassured to come in tomorrow to pick up a check and the money I paid with a card would be returned within 24 hours. I was then advised by the his family members that the bond was posted, I called them again several times asking and each call they stated we dont see anything showing it was posted nor has he been in to sign papers. After several calls and no refund I found out the defendant was released, the defendant contacted me from the agency and I advised him as well of the refund requests and they advised him he was going back to jail and I needed to come back in. I went in the lady I spoke with was gone but she left notes stating we are going off the bond Monday and issuing a refund, defendant is going back to jail. I left, called back Monday and was told no refund bond is posted.
I would like a refund and to be removed as a cosigner from *** bond.
I paid 300 to post a bail, I was assured I'd be approved even though the defendant has an outstanding balance. AAA denied bond and refused a refund
I inquired at AAA foe the bond amount for a defendant. I was told the amount was 900$ I specifically told the agent I was no longer interested due to the amount. The agent then told me I coould do a payment plan, I asked her how much the downpayment would need to be she assured me AAA would work with what I have. I told her I would let the defendant know and call back. She then stated if we could put down $400 or 300$ that would be enough to post the bail. I again told the agent I would inform the defendant and call back at a later date. She then stated she woul dnotate the account. AAA atlas bail bonds preceded to call me 4 times a day and once at 11:41 pm to solicit my buisness I did not answer these callas as I was waiting to see what the defendant wanted to pay or if theyd even be interested in a payment plan.
About 5 or 6 days later I called AAA Atlas bail bonds back to inform them I was intereted in posting the bail with the payment plan option. I specifically asked the agent if an outstanding balance would affect whether or not I would be approved. She assured me it would not. I then asked her if I were denied would I be able to get a refund. She then stated they only issue refunds if a bond is not posted and the defendant does not get released. I again asked even if there is an outstanding balance? She then repeated for the second time "we only issue refunds if the defendant is not released and the bond is not posted." I then agreed. Once the payment was processed the agent then said she would give me a call back. I waited 2 hours then called AAA bail bonds back to see what the status was she then asked if I could either put more money down or have a cosigner I told her no and I initially told you 300$ was all I could afford at the moment. She then stated "Ok its fine let me speak with the insurance company again and I will return you call." I then waited two hours again then called AAA atlas bail bonds I was then told the insurance company did not accept the $300 bond amount I paid. I then stated that is fine I can try with other company and asked for a refund. Iwas then told the company does not issue refunds if there is an outstanding balance whether the defendant gets released or not. I then informed the agent I specifically asked if the defendant's outstanding balance would affect the current bond I was wanted to post and was reassured twice that it would not. She then stated they dont issue refunds. I asked how could I be denied a refund and I was not provided a service. She then stated im sorry as I just said we don't issue refunds. I asked to speak with a manager she stated "they will tell you exactly what I'm telling you." I said that may be the case however I would like to speak to a manager, the agent then laughed and stated ok I'll let them know and I never recieved a call back from the company.
I would like a refund due to the fact that I was not provided with a service. I was reassured twice that a refund would be given if the defendant was not released or the bail was not posted. I feel as though they were intentionally trying to deceive me into making a payment knowing that the current bond I was trying to post would be denied and they would be able to receive some sort of payment from me. They called me over 4 times in a day on a daily basis to seem as though they would be willing to work with me however they knew theat once they processed the card payment they were not intending on providing me with any services. I am a single mother or a newborn and that 300$ was the LAST amount of money in my account, the only reason why I spent it with Atlas bail bonds was to get the father of my child out so he could assist me with bills and generate an income during the current nationwide quarentine from COVID-19 due to him being an essential employee. AAA Atlas bail bonds preyed on me as a customer knowing the system they have in place by making the customer pay for the service prior to getting approved then denying refunds was a way for them to generate income during this time!

"Defendant has been a long time client. We have run balances on him from the beginning and is not a requirement to be paid in full to post any bond with AAA Atlas Bail Bonds.
The underwriting decision was timely communicated to the client that we needed additional cosigners to cosign along with her.
From a risk stand point, defendant is now considered a flight risk since he has now 3 felony charges of DWI 3rd or more, all of them within the last 2 months. He kept going back to jail and every time we bailed him out, either with pending balance or not, we provided the service.
Company decided to mitigate the risk by adding more cosigners on the bonds due to the felony charge of DWI 3rd or more carries a punishment in the state of Texas of 2-10 years in prison and a fine not to exceeded $10,ooo dollars.
Client refused to provide any more cosigners, bonds cannot be posted if we don't satisfy this requirement. The $300 that she paid was applied to her previous balance from the beginning and she was completely aware of it since this is our policy and since she has been the cosigner on his previous bonds, making her liable for the $2,250 that are still pending. She agreed to that and signed our receipts.
AAA Atlas acted in good faith since we have always run balances on him without any problems, the client refused to provide the additional cosigners that are family members as requested and at this point our services cannot be provided due to the high risk."
