Review: Rental terms were misrepresented and mislead by the business owner on two verbal occassions. I was told the daily rate of USD285.00, and if I wished to keep the excavating machine over the "weekend a half day weekend rate" of USD140.00 would apply. I was never informed of a hourly use limit and meter on the machine, nor any "overage time" applicable, even though I did initial this on the contract among many other intials required typically found and not explained. The owner initially charge me 1 full day at USD285 and 1 half day at USD140, plus 3.7 hours at $45/hour for a total of USd594.00, in addition to the $43.90 for diesel, $150 delivery charges, and $47.52 damage waiver and $50.03 CT state tax. When I queried [redacted]?) on the meter charges he explained that I initialed it and even though it was not explained I owed this amount. He later said he would credit me the gas charges back, as I had returned the excavator with 5/8 of a tank. It later dawned on me that the 1/2 day rate plus the overtime chgs equaled more than the full day $285 rate, an over charge of $21.50. I was expecting to pay the additional half day rate of $140, not the $140 + $166 overtime, if I had known of the time limit I would not have run the excavator the time to flatten the soften dirt and kept it under the limit, or not have kept it a 2nd day as I was lead to believe was only a half day charge. I was told twice, once by phone, once in person, that it was only a half day rate to keep it the weekend. I was mislead and not informed of all the "Conditions/Terms" and believe I have been wronged by deceptive practices to the tune of $142.50, the difference, I was given a credit of $32.11, and expect a further credit of $110.39. Customers should not be mislead and be clearly informed of the "exceptions/small print" not left to find out in total amazement and "Gotcha" tactics.Desired Settlement: a credit as earlier promised for the gas, at least half tank $20.00 and the half day $142.50, less the credit ($32.11) already given, equaling $130.39.
