A One Tom Drexler Plumbing

I called Drexler to open a washing machine drain. After they arrived there estimate was $1203. I thought that was reasonable and I agreed to the price. They came to make the repair on 12/27/13 (Friday). This price $1203 was to replace the pipes above the floor. Then the repairman said they would have to dig up a small part of the floor to fix the problem. This was going to cost an additional $3600. We are now up to $4803 by the end of Friday. On Saturday 12/28/13 they dug up a larger portion of the floor. He then told me that main sewer line under the basement floor might be bad. He was finished that day and left. In the mean time while all this is going on, my wife and family are without clothes washer and the kitchen drainage because the kitchen uses the same plumbing. On Monday 12/30/13 the repairman ran a camera through the main pipe and said it was bad also. The price to fix this main line is now up to $15000.Wow. I had enough. Everything in the house was working fine except the washer. At this time I got a second opinion. I said to the Drexler repairman to pack up your stuff and leave. My contractor said very little of the Drexler work was necessary. The main pipe under the floor was fine and that it would last until our grand children were grown. In fact my contractor had the original pipes replaced and the floor repoured that same day. I am very upset. I believe that I was being taken advantage of. The price is excessive, but what is the home owner to do, when the house is unusable. Also during this process the Drexler repairman indicated that they could finance this job interest free for a year and if we used our 401k money we would have to pay a penalty for early withdraw. Crazy. I just need the washer fixed. There advertising is deceptive also. It says on the truck that they can unclog any drain for $99. I am very disappointed. I called MSD to check on the line outside the home. The said that everything outside looked good. I have pictures available of all the work in question.
