Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: No one has accused anyone of rolling back milesThat is absolutely 100% a lieThe statement was made by myself that I was going to have the PCM checked to see if the mileage was correctThat's a far cry difference from saying "you rolled the mileage back"Give me a breakWhen I brought the truck home, a day later I called the salesman( [redacted] ) and told him the alternator had failed, the trailer brake controller had failed and that the air bag fail indicator light was illuminated in the dashHe proceeded to tell me that the airbag failure was just a short in the steering wheel and was an easy fixI also told him there was some writing on the engine oil pan which usually indicates it's not original and he told me it probably hit something in the road and had to be changed due to a hole or somethingAfter I paid $37,for the truck, he offers to buy it back for $35,Typical used car sales tacticsThey did pay for the alternator and a brake controller(which did not fix the issue as the wiring has a short)I put a $14,engine in this truck yesterdayThat is not acceptableDid I buy a used truck? AbsolutelyWas the truck presented as a 57,original mileage pristine truck? You bet they didI spoke to [redacted] on the phone about the issues and all that came from that call is he knows how to throw a tantrumJust like a small bratty childI will not deny I bought a used truck with no warranty but I did buy a truck with what was told to me to have 57,ORIGINAL milesMaybe things in Texas are different than what we are used to here in Louisiana but when a truck is advertised as having a certain mileage, that includes the engine as wellIf I would have had a way to have know I had a scabbed together junk yard engine, I would not have purchased the vehicleI am having the faulty engine serial number traced to find out the history on it and what the actual mileage of the truck it came from had on it at the time the engine was removedAs for the steering components being remanufactured and Mr [redacted] saying this is common shows his limited knowledge of automobilesEspecially the heavy duty ones such as the one he sold meSteering gear boxes are what is referred to as lifetime componentsThey do not wear out until up in the Hundreds of thousands of milesBack to the engine, after the Ford dealer continued with the disassembly, they discovered mis-matched pistons indicating a scabbed together engineMaybe I am crazy but in my little old mind, I think if someone sells me something advertising 57,original miles and it turns out that is false, they are morally responsible to, at a minimum, at least offer to cover half of the cost of repairsI opted for a rebuilt engine in order to curb costs so it's not as bad of a cost as it could have beenIf A&L Imports continues to state they are done with this, I will continue to exercise my first amendment rightsAdditionally they presented the Carfax on this vehicle and repeatedly commented on how clean the Carfax wasNot sure how a truck in this condition has skated past Carfax reporting but somehow it has happenedI will not continue to go back and forth with thisA&L will pay for half of the $14,cost or I will continue my pursuit into the legal realm and also continue spreading the word on this great dealership Regards, [redacted]
