In my research on this matter, I found that my responses to the homeowner's emails were still in my Draft folder in my email, having never been sent. This explains why she never responded to my offer to fix the crack, and her frustration with the lack of communication. The crack she has
can easily be fixed with paintable caulk, from what I can tell by the picture she sent me. The crack looks like shrinking or settling cracks, which is uncharacteristic of a typical compound/tape joint. I don't believe this is a failure of my work, since it appears no where else in the area I repaired In one of the un-sent emails, I offered to fix the crack, but obviously it was never received by the homeowner. Please see screen shots included with this response. You will see the Draft emails folder, which still contains the dated response emails. If they had been sent, they wouldn't be in there still As to the person working in her house, it was someone she knew from a prior job we did for her a month or so earlier. In the interest of time, I had *** come out there to do the painting because I had a prior commitmentWe got there sometime in the early afternoon, and I got him started. I informed her via text message, "WedOct19, 1:PM: *** is Painting the ceiling currentlyHe'll paint the walls where needed with the paint you have in the closet." When the job was finished, I texted her at 4:PM, and she texted back with "Thanks!" at 4:PM. I had no idea there was an issue till she told me, over a month later, in an email on Nov27thI have included the email, and screen caps of the texts, with this response I did respond to her original texts and emails with offers of repainting the ceiling for free and admitting that it was my mistake about the paint used. She didn't want me back there, so I decided to take the loss ($340) and not charge her for the job. I told her in an email response, "Don't worry about the invoiceGood luck to you." This would end our business relationship. I have included email and text screen caps to support this The claims of $per hour were for roofing and drywall finishing work, not painting. Painting was $per hour, as evidenced by included invoice. I feel that by foregoing the $for the ceiling mud and paint work, I have given enough. There was no charge for paint or mud materials; just labor. She was getting a good deal to begin with, and now it has become a free one The claim of me trying to charge her for $for paint is unfounded. No paperwork, emails or texts support this Her attitude towards me, with her language in the emails and texts, and her verbal complaints to me about being too expensive when she was well aware of my hourly rate, have driven me to the decision to not work for her ever again

Having reviewed the pictures that were provided, I do not find anything that has not already been addressed in my response to the initial request. As previously explained, I did respond to her original texts and emails with offers of repainting the ceiling for free, and admitting that it was my mistake about the paint used. She didn't want me back there, so I decided to take the loss ($340) and not charge her for the job. Again, I believe the compensation provided by completely waiving the full amount of labor invoiced for the painting work, along with not charging for materials, I believe I have provided more than reasonable recompense Additionally, please find attached samples of correspondence sent by Mrs*** subsequent to my initial response to this inquiry. Upon review, I anticipate you will find that the unnecessarily profane and increasingly hostile nature of her communication makes it unreasonable to expect that we can resume a professional and productive client-customer relationship I have also included the AFTER Pictures of her chimney, from when the work was completed. She attached the BEFORE pictures so I figured you should see how the work turned out

I would highly recommend this company. Bill responded very quickly to my request for a meeting to discuss my project. Very professional, and his pricing was very fair and reasonable. He came and performed the work he said he would do and did a fabulous job.
