A Child's Place

In April/May, my husband and I made two visits to the daycare to see the facilities. In May, I wrote a deposit check, with the understanding that we would figure out a way for my kids to do a trial time at the daycare (I suggested 1 day, but they don't allow that, so I offered to pay for 3 days, and they told me that it would all depend on their availability). Regardless, we wrote the check. I emailed the director on several occasions asking either to set up these trial days or to return my deposit, and she never responded. Apparently she left (later I found out that this company has had many director turnovers: 1st from a neighboring preschool 2nd from parents who came from the this daycare to the daycare where my kids currently go, and said that there was such mismanagement that they had to leave). In June, two months after I had written the check and had no response still, someone cashed the check. I called the corporate office, and the woman talked over me through the entire conversation. I was trying to explain to her the situation, and she kept arguing with me. Finally, I told her that I would not talk over her, and that maybe she should listen to the recording of our conversation so she could hear her customer service skills. I told the woman that I didn't even want the money back if they really feel like taking our money was a moral act, regardless of everything we had done to attempt to make this daycare work. She told me that with her experience (6 months of working there), she knew the policies, and this is how it would be handled. She assured me that she was trying to work with me. She hung up on me. In the end, I feel really happy that my kids are not going there - I mean, this is a place where parents should feel confident and comfortable with having their kids there. Very poor.

Review: A Child Place (ACP) signed my daughter in the after-care program without my consent and refused to refund.

Fact: 1. The sign-in was a mistake and my daughter did NOT stay in the program at all.

2. Although credits of the same amount were given, there is no way to use it unless extra amount is spent on registration and documentation from doctors.Desired Settlement: After several unsatisfied negotiation, no sincereness is shown, therefore a refund is requested.
