I signed a contract with this company on November 14, to rebuild soffits & built in gutters, to perform all necessary repairs to my metal roof, and to re-coat the roof, ensuring no leaks upon completionThis company came out, performed work on the soffits & roof and assured me that they had completed the job with the exception of a few pieces of trim and clean up, which required a special chemical that they had to order, as they had tracked silver roof coating onto my hardwood floorsBecause I was having other work done in the house, I told them it would be fine for them to wait for the product to come in and the roofer with whom I signed the contract told me that he needed to get paid that day in order to pay his guysHe even had the owner of the company call me, reassure me that they are an upstanding business, and ask me to write the check, which I reluctantly didI later learned that they had broken of my 3rd story windows, left broken glass scattered throughout

Reached out to company regarding possible roof repairsThey came and looked and said I did not need a new roof but had a product that could clean my roofThey installed zinc strips and after completion I noticed it did not look like I got what I paid forI searched zinc strip installations and they all showed completing across the entire roofRichard with A-tried saying this was the only way he knew howWhen I stated I was very unhappy he said he would fix itIt took weeks and many phone calls which were very unprofessionalHe said numerous times he did not have time, other customers getting on his nerves, and just plain rude on the phone and raising his voiceHe flat out told me I did not know what I was talking aboutSo he finally came out to finish and brought his wife to help and was running around my house with no shirt onAgain he did not finish and left about ft of the roof uncompletedAfter another two weeks of saying he would come back he said he did not have

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/03/29) */
Dear Ms. [redacted]
On 12/2/2015, I went to the homeowner's residence to evaluate electrical issues that was dispatched to our company by the homeowner's home warranty insurance company.
I found that the main panel box was the cause of the...

problem and needed to be replaced. I informed Mr. [redacted] that I would need to get approval from the insurance company before any work could be completed. The company would not cover 100% of the cost of replacing the panel, so the homeowner would be responsible for the difference.
I phoned Mr. [redacted] and explained the non-coverage and gave him a lower than normal cost for what the insurance company would not pay. The amount given to him was for installing the new panel in the existing location.
Upon contacting Southern California Edison for them to review my findings, the SCE planner went to the residence and said that the existing panel box needed to be moved to a different location because it was in a covered patio area. Having to do this, completely changed the time and materials, therefore my original charge to him would be more than what Mr. [redacted] and I agreed upon. I never told Mr. [redacted] that if SCE required any changes that the price would be the same, as I had no knowledge of what their findings would be, if any. Per SCE planner, the new panel box needed to be moved to a different location.
I charged Mr. [redacted] my cost for the additional parts that were necessary and provided him with copies of the receipts for these parts. I also did not charge him our regular labor rate.
I feel I gave Mr. [redacted] a fair price for the additional work required by SCE that I had no control over.
I feel we went above and beyond to make this homeowner satisfied.
Please let me know if any further information is needed.
Sincerely,
[redacted] J. [redacted]

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2016/05/06) */
Mr.[redacted] made a determination that as to what the total cost would be. In talking to the Edison planner he stated that your contractor should have given me a bid that any additional costs should be in his bid. At no time did Mr. [redacted] inform me of any changes in his bid and A-1 was paid by myself .In review of what I explained the circuit in problem was never looked at. After all the replacements were completed the circuit in the kitchen did not work they had to replace plugins in the kitchen which I explained to the contractor in the first place was the problem . Mr. [redacted] feels he gave me a fair price for additional work and parts. What about being conscientious about giving bids that are correct on your job and being fair to any customers.
