99MediaLab was pre-paid for their product/service, and failed to provide the product and service as promised. We have made several attempts to communicate the issues with them, and to date 99MediaLab has repeatedly avoided resolving the issues. As we began to prepare for civil litigation we discovered the 99MediaLab profile was removed from "Upwork.com" which was the platform used to discover them. We also became aware that the owner uses an "alias", as do some of his employees/partners.
Below is a summary of some of the basic issues we observed:
1) SEO: None of the image files were properly named. It is basic SEO knowledge to name image files using either a) keywords, or b) specifically descriptive text that identifies the image. What is NOT proper SEO, would be using a series of numbers or a generic word to describe an image.
2) Misspellings: There were several misspellings throughout the website content (even on the home page). Not only is this a red flag of other issues, but it is a clear sign of poor punctuality. A misspelling is a very serious issue. According to marketing statistics, misspellings greatly reduce sales conversions. A simple error in spelling will in fact cause financial loss.
3) Custom Coding: The theme they developed is faulty and is not mobile compatible. This is a huge issue because 65% of the client base is using mobile devices. When doing standard updates, some of the "add to cart" buttons are no longer functioning.
4) Codes and Files: Attempting to repair the issues is not easy because even the file names are misspelled or improperly named. This is a tactic often used by shady website developers so that only they have the ability to fix the website.
5) Customer Service: At 6 months in (Once I was no longer able to perform a charge back on my credit card) - the customer service abruptly ended.
- We had 1 simple request: Create us a website that competes with our 3 competitors. They did not deliver on this. It has been nearly 1 year now and we have been greatly financially damaged by 99MediaLab oversites.
99MediaLab (Piyush M) should start with SEO as of April, 1, 2019 but only started working on April, 10, 2019.
Since we started working with 99MediaLab, there was a major drop in SEO/organic traffic. Organic revenue dropped by 59% comparing from previous month. See attached Analytics reports.
Many of our keywords were also dropped in Ranking. In addition, our site visits for April 2019 also decreased by 35.50% compared to March 2019 as shown on the attached Traffic report from ***.
99MediaLab was not able to provide us with any keyword research and keyword recommendations. This is the first thing that a professional SEO company needs to provide to a client. They have not provided the most effective keywords that will help with our ranking.
