A few weeks ago, I traveled 500 miles to buy a truck at this dealership. I placed a $500 non-refundable deposit on a truck that I was told was, “one of the cleanest they had seen”. Since I was committed, I bought the truck. Within a mile of the dealership I noticed 1.5” of play in the steering wheel and that the wipers were worn out. Within 5 miles of the dealership, I heard deafening vibration coming from the back of the truck at over 70 MPH. When I stopped for gas a few miles later, I noticed a leak in the rear differential, a fog light burned out, no washer fluid, tires that were under-inflated by up to 20%, and significant frame rust behind the freshly painted wheel wells along with some rust on the truck bed. By the time I reached home, a check engine light appeared indicating that a new catalytic converter was needed.
When I contacted the dealership to see if they would stand behind the un-safe vehicle they sold, they said I should have inspected the truck thoroughly before purchase, that I had purchased the truck as-is (which I did) and to “have a nice day”. I have videos, photos, recordings and text and email message copies that confirm this review.
who I believe is the owner of the business misrepresented the condition of the car they have for sale sending deceiving pictures (out of state buyer). According to *** description and pictures I placed a deposit of $500. Upon arrival and closer inspection many problems were discovered, have pictures to support claim. *** refuses to return the refund.
There was no misrepresentation about the 1997 Ford F150. The customer even said in the office that there was no misrepresentation on our end, he said it was on him and his decision. As you can see in the complaint there is nothing about the mechanical aspect ofthe truck. We told him it ran and drpve great. We told the customer there were cosmetic flaws all around the truck and sent photos of the flaws prior to accepting the deposit. We told the customer it was not a brand new truck by any means and there was rust and cosmetic flaws. We typically do not take deposits without the customer seeing the vehicle first because of situations like this but the customer was very adamant about giving is a deposit so we wouldn't sell the truck because it was a great deal. We told the customer that deposits are non-refundable because once they are taken we consider the vehicle sold and won't sell it to anyone else. We turned multiple sales away on the vehicle while we were holding it for this customer. He was fully aware of the condition of the vehicle and that the deposit was non-refundable. We even drove the customer back to the airport after he said he didn't what the truck. I wish I'm the best of luck in the search. Now we have to pay to re-list the vehicle with our vendors and the time lost because we held the vehicle for this customer.
Even when leaving the customer said he understood that the deposit was non-refundable and was okay with it. I'm sorry his feelings changed. But we were completely honest and has transparent as possible when talk to the customer about the vehicle.
Got a very nice verhicle from this business. They are a no presser dealer and very friendly too. the vehcle I got runs good I havent had to do anything to it. thry also service their vehickes before selling them too. Id refer my friends and family to this dealer.
After taking my cash and credit card for the balance due on the dale of a $5,000 car for my 16 year old son, I was told they add a $250 "dealer fee" and a $48 fee for using the credit card. Such an annoying thing to do in the last minutes of the sale! Since I was paying the full purchase price of the car, I questioned the owner about these fees and stated I would pay the "dealer fee" but calmly asked if they would cover the $48 credit card fee. Nope...not a dime. Really?! I guess I questioned the business sense to blow a $5,000 sale over $48 but ultimately, I agreed to pay it since my son was so excited to take his dream car home. The conversation was pretty calm up to about this point when all of a sudden something snapped in the owner's head and he threw my cash at me and told me and my son to get out! I was very polite but very shocked that a used car salesman had such thin skin that even questioning a small fee was enough to throw him over the edge! I very politely got up from my seat, counted my cash and we walked out the door. My son was devastated. I strongly recommend taking your business anywhere else. *Extremely unprofessional owner .
This business is only out for itself and will not help you as a car dealership should. They are unresponsive when you call, they will never call you back and will never steer you in the direction of help or resolution for an issue. This business has and will continue to take advantage of people, and will do everything in their power to dance around a situation. I will never recommend anyone to go to 440 Auto Sales to purchase a vehicle.
Automobile purchased as an accident free-non collision vehicle. Rain damaged the inner wheel well fender guard revealing Bondo body filler repairs to the front bumper of the vehicle. This vehicle was stated to be accident free. The damaged revealed by poor repairs reduces the value of the vehicle.
I bought an AS-IS vehicle and the transmission went out in less than 24 hours. I spoke to the owner and he said he would take care of the labor if I purchased a transmission from somewhere and paid to have it towed there. I agreed to the deal. I have now been trying to reach him for 2 weeks but the son (who handles sales and the sale of this vehicle) keeps saying he is out of town. He gives me the day he is returning and says to call back then. I call back on the specified day but I only get voicemail. I have left several messages. The day comes and goes and then I will eventually get the son and he will say he is out of town again. This has been going on for 2 weeks. I was forced to have someone else install it as I needed a vehicle to drive to work.

The company said the consumer never called and spoke with the owner's son, the company said the owner is always at the shop, was never on vacation and always answers his phone.
The company also said the consumer failed to have his vehicle towed to their shop so his transmission could be fixed free of charge (The company said the consumer was responsible for the towing of his vehicle and for getting his transmission part/s.)
The company said there is doubt the consumer's transmission went bad, the company said all of the cars they sell are in running condition.
The company said the consumer bought a $1500 car and expects the car to run like new, the company said the consumer bought and AS-IS car and that's what he got.
The company said they tell all of their customers if their car falls apart into two halves when they leave the company's lot, then the consumer owns both halves of the car.
The company said they told the consumer to have his car towed to their shop and to buy a transmission and they would have it installed for free, the company said they even found a used transmission for the consumer.
The company said they refuse to reimburse the consumer for the repair of his transmission because they agreed to do it for free.
