Review: To whom it may concern,

My name is [redacted]. And I'm coming to the Revdex.com because I was falsely charged for services.

Me and my husband went out to get my nails filled in. Which at this business is only $16.00.

We went on Sunday September 14th. We went in about 5ish I had a appointment.

Well I got my normal nails filled( acrylic) in and the tips done white with a blue under line. The under line for all nails to have would cost me only $3.00. So all together I should have only spent $19.00 tops. (I have pictures of their signs and what my nails looked like.)

As the women was finishing up my nails the owner walked over to her and told her that they were going to charge me $27.00 dollars because they closed at 6 and they were finishing up on my nails and it was 6:10.

When I and my husband asked the man how he came up on the price because on the sign that sits in front of the counter it states fill ins are only $16.00 and the lady said the under line would cost only $3.00 for the under line on all my nails together. He started coming up with bogus reasons on why he was charging me so much.

First he said because my nails were to long. Well my nails are the standard length when they get done. They are the normal length as any other time I get them done. I have pictures of the length. And nowhere on the sign does it say length of nails. How do you judge if a nail is to long? Then he said because they looked French... Well all I did was give them standard nail polish for them to paint the tips of nail, and never heard of being charged a fill in plus getting just the tips painted coming to almost 30 dollars. This wasn't on their sign and neither was his length excuse. The lady that painted my nails knew the owner was wrong because she came over to me put her hand on my back and told me how sorry she was over her owner. The owner refused for me to leave without paying the full 27.00.

So my husband took pictures of his signs, paid the bill and we left. Then as we were leaving and getting in our car the women chased us out to the parking lot apologized again for her owner and said he works in the mall and he charges people more. And tried hugging me. I explained to her he cant false advertise because he had to stay open for 10 more minutes while they finished my nails up. You can't just up charges on people. The owner was so rude, and during our dispute he was on the phone and the second he was done being rude making up prices he got right back on the phone laughing and started explain the situation to whoever was on the other end of the phone. I felt completely uncomfortable and well that's unprofessional.

They also refused to tell me their names, so I have no idea their names. We asked them 3 times. When we asked they acted like they didn't understand.

Again I have pictures of their signs and the length of my nails and what they look like.Desired Settlement: I'm wanting my $7.00 dollars back. Yes I know it's only $7.00 but it's the point you can't just up charges on people because you feel like it. And it's sad when your employees chase me out to the parking lot telling me and my family that what he did wasn't right. I deserve my payment adjustment. I do not agree with his reasons. And its not on his sign that tells you in advance the price for all work that you can get on your nails.

Response:

On 9/14/2014 at 5:45 pm, the woman (she was the last customer of the day) came in with her husband and three of her children who requested to get her nails refilling. One of our nail techs have spent more than an hour to finish her nails, which usually take about 30 minutes job. The reason is that her nails was terrible lifted and broke when she got them done in some other salons. Therefore, the charge for her service was based up on our pricing list which is clearly display when customer walking in to the front door!

Acrylic refilling (reg. polish) $16.00

French Tip (white) 5.00

Blue line added 3.00

Replaced one acrylic nail 3.00

Total service charged $27.00

We did not charge her to cut them down and to fix up all the lifted nails that she has had at the time of service. The nail tech even stays late to finish her nails. I have been successfully in this business for over 16 years, and we do need customer happy and coming back every-time they visiting our store. Therefore, over-charge or up charge customer is not in our list.

Should there be further question related to this letter please feel free to contact me at number provided.

Sincerely yours,

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

First and for most I only have 2 children and I came In with only my husband and our 2 children. Also this whole statement this owner has now made is completely false. I didn't have one broken nail on my finger. And he demanded we pay him because he said they were to long.

This man never even saw my finger nails before they were done. So again him saying they were highly lifted and that they were broken is a complete and utter lie. And it is now upsetting me this man is now lying. I deserve my money that he over charged me. However I did take a picture of his sign that he is now stating somthing completely different then what shows. So now I'm even more confused on how this is a successful business because now the owner is making false statements and false charging now. This man argued with my husband about the length of my nails. It did not take the women over a hour for that women to do.my nails either. I'm more confused on why in [redacted] this nail tech running out to me and my husband apologizing and admitting that we were wrongly charged???? I needed a slight fill in that day because I had just gotten my nails done literally 2 weeks prior to the 14th (which is when I went to tip to toe). Which is the day I came back from my vacation from [redacted]. Again I didn't have one broken nail on my finger. Again the owner never saw my fingers before I got them done. I completely reject this entire statement from this owner. His statement is false. The statement started of false when this man just said I came in with my 3 children and I was the last customer of the day. Well if I was the only customer in his shop he would have known there was only 2 children. He also would have known I had no broken nails. And then he would have also known that we were there maybe 45 minutes. We went in well after 5. Because I have my receipt from the jewelry store I left which was well after 5. I left at 6:10 because when I took a picture of my nails and his sign it saved the time on the photos in my phone. I undunderstand times are hard and his business may struggling but that's no right to lie about charges. Up chargeing people because they had to stay open a few extra minutes. And make now make up false statements over 7 dollars. I really hope we can get this resolved..

Looking forward to hear back from you.

Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Review: On Saturday 6-27-15 I went to 4 Tip to Toe to get a shellac manicure. The lady who performed the service removed my old shellac and buffed my nails. When she buffed my nails she cut my skin pretty bad (bleeding bad). The whole time she was talking to another worker who was performing a pedicure to give her tools back. The other associate gave her the cuticle nipper back after using it on someones feet and my manicurist tried to use it on me! I told her not to use it. That same night I went home with my fingers hot to the touch and sore from the buffing. Also my nails were chipping and the shellac was coming up on the sides. I went back the next day on Sunday and spoke to a man up front I am assuming the owner. I told him I was unhappy with my service as it was already chipping and it was suppose to last 2 weeks. I also told him I didn't feel comfortable having them fix it as my fingers had open sores. He told me he would not give me my money back that they did not refund money. He stated I had a service and had to pay. He kept saying go over there she will fix one that's not cut. I walked to the chair and told the lady I did not want it to be fixed as I was scared of getting an infection. She proceeded to buff my nails again with about 3 of her associates around her. They were all speaking and examining my nails when I asked her what was wrong she wouldn't say. As shes almost done she puts latex gloves on and goes and does a pedicure while I am drying under the light. She came back with the gloves on and cleaned my nails without washing her hands!! I had enough and walked out. My concern is health practices are not being used and even paying for a service that even the workers knew was a bad job he wasn't willing to refund me but forced me to get it done. I walked out with half done nails. The basins from the pedicures were NOT being washed after each use.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund . I was more than friendly when he basically pushed my to the chair and kept saying no you get fixed.
