4 Friends Moving Reviews (%countItem)

I never leave bad reviews about a company, I just don't think it is right...however, this was the absolute worst move ever! The young lady who answers the phone answers it by saying: "Thank you for calling"....well, thank you for calling who? She doesn't even say the name of the company. I thought this was very unprofessional.
Kevin, who originally booked the move for me was very polite on the phone. However, I never got a confirmation call the day before to review everything so when the movers got to the house (2 hours later), also the lift was broken so they had to get another truck, they were not organized, the were a bit slow with packing and carrying everything down to the truck. They were never told they were to pack a washer/dryer set so they said their truck was full (yet I still had a washer/dryer, several boxes & a garage to be packed up) and they would have to come back in the morning to finish the job, no charge. They got to the house at 10:30, was supposed to be there at 8am, and did not leave the new house until almost 7pm!!! The amount was astronomical for what I had to pay. They left all the blankets on the furniture, all the plastic wrapping on as well, they did not take the mattress up to the bedroom as asked to do a few times.
I was told they would be there at the old house to finish the job at 8am, I called several times, each time Kevin getting ruder and ruder on the phone. I kept getting told later & later time windows..12-4, 1-5, then 12-3. I was told by Kevin that if I was not happy with the fact they were not there yet, I could do the rest of the move myself or be happy with waiting. Kevin was so rude and unprofessional on the phone, I was speechless, I was afraid that If I complained anymore, he would call the guys and tell them not to come at all!
The 2nd crew of movers did not get to the house until 6:30pm. These guys were great, not only did they finish the rest of the moving, but they finished the job of the 1st crew of movers, they were more organized, they were faster and worked much better as a team.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. Whoever Kevin is, he is the absolute worst representation of customer service, I have never had such a horrible customer service experience in my life.

The company is holding our furniture hostage. They do not want to discuss the extra charges on the invoice that are not itemized.
We used 4 Friends Moving to move out of our house on 11/27/18, everything was pleasant until the day of drop off 11/29/18 when we look at the bill and they are charging an extra $486 dollars of undocumented charges for materials. We bring the issue up to the manger Ryan, who would not discuss what these charges were for just said the blankets used which is written no where on the invoice nor the amount that was used or how much each would be. As well as on the invoice is shows that the employees worked on 11/29/18 from 9:45 am to 1:15 pm but we were charged for 7.75 hours at $110 dollars an hour. So after trying to reason with Ryan he then starts cursing us out using foul language saying that he is going to now change the bill to the "correct" amount he should be charging since he gave us deals and hung up on me on multiple occasions. After all of this transpires they still have a whole truck full of our furniture and personal belongings from our home that they are holding until we bring them a Cashiers check since they said they will not be taking our credit card any more. Ryan has been very unprofessional and rude to multiple members of my family that was trying to reconcile the charges that are not shown on any estimate/invoice. We have $926 dollars of undocumented charges on the invoice that we are being asked to pay.

As well as in the estimate it clearly shows that it includes furniture blankets in the price shown not an additional cost. Plus it says a piano board will be included on the day of the move in the estimate, they did not bring the piano board and charged us an extra 45 min to go pick up the piano board and load it into the truck.

We just want to know what we are being charged for before we pay. But when that is asked we are shut down and yelled at saying the true price will be coming to your email and you will not be receiving any of your belongs until a cashiers check is brought to them in person.

Desired Outcome

We just want to know everything we are being charged for before we pay. Instead of paying for things we did not use and or should have already been included based off the estimate. There is $486 of undocumented charges as well as the hours worked are off by 4.25 hours that equals out to over $440 dollars. So a grand total of $926 dollars of charges that are not shown for on the invoice.

Hired movers to pack/ move my daughter post surgery from one apartment to another. Movers arrived 8.5hrs late using foul language unaware they to pack
I attached the email I sent to the President of 4 Friends moving that describes in detail the entire event. In addition, the President, Mr. M, never replied. I called him and he said that "the move was not a catastrophe as I made it to be and I would not be refunded any money."

Desired Outcome

I would like at a minimum a refund for half of the bill which ultimately was $721. I was originally quoted $503.

4 Friends Moving Response • Jan 04, 2018

We apologize for the dissatisfaction, but packing and moving services were provided, and we charged appropriately for the services that were actually provided. We were not 8 hours late, customer was given a guarantee that we would move her that day, but not at a specific time. We are unable to offer any further discount as we only charged for the services provided.

Customer Response • Jan 06, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
While the work was eventually completed 8.5 hours AFTER the person I booked the job with (I will not name publicly here) told me the packers and movers would arrive, the company did not and continues to not comply with their own customer guarantees listed boldly on their website.

Per their website:
1) "Guaranteed start times on every job." They finally arrived 8.5 hours after start time stating a job ran late the night before. I called SEVERAL times throughout the day only to be given false arrival times repeatedly. They finally arrived at 5:30 PM.
2) "Guaranteed professionalism of all packers and movers." Movers were unaware they had to pack and began to curse about the job and company. They stated they would not do the move because they had a 4 hour drive back. At this point I called the store manager, again I will not name publicly, who then told me that because of my call that I was now holding up the job.(that was already 8.5 hours late)
3) "Guaranteed performance of all packers and movers." Not a single box was labeled with contents and the movers literally dragged boxes up flights of stairs.

There were numerous issues which were put into an email to the president of the company and when I finally reached him, as he did not reach out to me, he told me "it was not the catastrophe I made it out to be and he would not issue even a partial refund."

This business prides themselves in customer satisfaction guarantees on their own website but then hides behind saying "packing and moving services were provided."

On November 29 we contracted 4 friends moving to move our three bedroom home I had received two estimates and both were about the same so I went with 4 friends moving before the move I contacted them twice once to get a better estimate in writing and the next time to make sure they were going to cover all my furniture and take care of it I was assured by the girl on the phone that it would be covered. On November 29 they picked up our belongings and I paid them in check the amount of 540 dollars. On November 30 they came to deliver our furniture to our new home. When they were almost done they keep some of our furniture on the truck and I was told that I had to pay them in cash. I called the office and was told it was cash or they would keep my furniture I told them that I was not told that and of course they said I was so I went to the atm to give them the cash or loose my furniture. I paid them on November 30 430 dollars witch was a total of 970 dollars. The next day we noticed my bedroom furniture had been damaged in the move opening more boxes there where things broken a Waterford crystal creamer that was in our family for years . There was more damaged of two sconces that I have moved myself many times where damaged and broken. I call them and was told to send pictures of the items I called again to make sure the pictures where received and was told that they would send a claim from out. After I did not hear from them I called again and this time was told I would have to wait 30 days and someone would contact me. A few days later we found that my son's bedroom headboard had a big crack in it so I immediately sent a picture today I called and asked them if they received the new picture and was accused that we did the damage on our own furniture I asked where was the claim form and was now told the because we went cheep you should expect this kind of damage. I told them that I have received the same rate of 110 a hour from a different company I told them if you would have told me that I should expect damage I would have never used them what kind of company tells you that I should expect my items to be damaged.I has asked them for a address and was told he did not know the address I had to call the attorney generals office to get there address this company should be put out of business I am sure there are more customers out there that have complaints he told me he has never been spoken to like this before I find that very hard to believe.

4 Friends Moving Response • Jan 04, 2018

Customer added additional services including additional packing and agreed to extra charges prior to commencement of services. When we arrived, Both the husband and wife seemed to be abusing drugs, and stated that they did not have the money to pay and were aggressive and combative. We delivered the items once the customer was able to pay.
